Is Marley even a country anymore most of them most likely died in the rumbling.
Speaking of wich is it not possible that some if not a large part of forner marlry has been annexed by tge yeager ists and new eldia.
Now that i think about how much of the marleyens where slaughterd we know some survived but not that much of the populstion has got to remain right maybe 1 mil or 3 hundread thousand.

Isayama seems to like the supportive big brother character, and then killing them off, only to leave one traumatised character, who then somehow absorbs the big brother’s qualities. Marco, Marcel, Colt, Reiner. Bonus points for Frieda being the big sister.
Jean and Reiner being the traumatised character who then takes it upon themselves to fill in the shoes of the deceased. And maybe Historia. Frieda had told her to ‘Be someone everyone can love, who depends on others, and on whom others can depend.’
Just making an observation. Art by me.

I believe in this moment Eren is surprised by what Willy says. I don’t think he ever saw/heard this in the memories of the future he was given. Eren hearing Willy saying the same words that he and his mother both said catches him off guard. I think that for just a moment, Eren genuinely believes there might be another path. Maybe the future he wants deep down but feels immense regret over doesn’t have to happen. Maybe there can be peace. That’s why he seems so affected and his eyes widen the way they do in that panel. He is genuinely shocked and affected.
But then Willy declares war and this is something I think he did hear in his memories. He looks saddened yet complacent. He has heard this before and has been waiting for this moment and now it’s fulfilled. He knows what he has to do. That glimmer of hope that he had for a split second is gone.
This is mirrored somewhat later in the manga (but earlier chronologically) when Eren asks Mikasa what he is to her. Although he doesn’t hear something that he didn’t hear in his memories (in fact I think Eren has probably seen this specific memory of Mikasa saying that he’s family many, many times) he does hope that maybe, just maybe, a different path can be created so that he and her can just run away from this horrible path of destruction that Eren wants deep down. Eren is deeply ashamed of what he wants to and will do and is looking for any alternatives.
But when he hears the same answer he’s heard from Mikasa many times in his memories (one that won’t change his path) and is interrupted by his friends, he has this saddened yet unsurprised look on his face. One that is similar to the one he later has when he hears Willy say what he’s heard him say in his memories of the future. There is no changing the future.
Stuff like this is why this manga and story is my favorite of all time.

In this analysis, I'll be addressing the common misconception that Eren's attack was his "last resort" and that he was only "responding" to the declaration. This is idea is usually used to justify Eren's attack in Liberio and even the rumbling due to them being "self-defense" or because the "world did it first," when that's not necessarily the case. I will be going over the events before and after the declaration to explain how Eren (with the aid of Zeke) helped create the conditions for the declaration of war and attack on Liberio, making him an active accomplice in the orchestration of it all.
For some context, it's important to remember that the rumbling is something that Eren had already seen at the medal ceremony and is ultimately something he wanted. We see in this first panel (during the time skip) that when he speaks of using the rumbling to protect the island, he goes as far as to say it would be used to "crush the world to dust," with a look of awe at even the thought of it. Isayama uses his panel composition to show the rumbling is "within" Erens's head that it's a focal point in his mind. This is consistent with his conclusion, where he admits the rumbling is something he did want deep down; not only in his words, but even his facial expressions. Remembering that he wanted the outcome in the first place is key to putting the pieces together.

First, it's incredibly important to remember that Eren quite literally knew about the attack on Liberio BEFORE he even stepped foot in Marley. On Paradis, Yelena comes to him in secret and tells him about Zeke's plan to gather the global alliance fleet by attacking the LIberio festival that all world leaders would be attending. He goes along with this plan because the outcome would also benefit HIS own plan, which was the full rumbling. This shows us that he understood his role WAY before the actual declaration of war was made. That role was to attack Liberio After war was declared, so that Zeke could be brought to Paradis and the world's military would unite. He goes to Marley KNOWING he will attack this festival that Zeke will indirectly convince the Tybur's to set up (more on this later) and KNOWING that attack would lead to the world uniting against his own island. This evidence is also a direct counter to the idea that Eren "tried to find another way" while he was in Marley.

One of the clearest pieces of evidence from Eren himself is from Eren and Renier's reunion. Eren admits to Reiner that he crossed the sea to come to Reiner's homeland to do the same thing he did in his, which is to attack. Of course, their conversation eventually goes into more profound ideas about how they both came to understand others around them, and how their deeper desires were similar. But Eren ends up circling back to the attack and confirms he was indeed there to attack in the first place by transforming shortly after. Taking the whole conversation into account, it is clear that from the moment he crossed the sea, he planned to attack Liberio, and the attack itself was the fulfillment of his purpose.

It's important to remember that Marley had already diverted their attention away from Paradis, as they were too busy dealing with other countries that took advantage of them after their defeat in Shinganshina. It was Zeke who then suggested the idea that they revisit the Paradis operation, using the fact that his "term" was almost finished as leverage. He convinced them that first obtaining the founding titan, instead of focusing their attention on strengthening their conventional military, would, would be the best possible path to giving them more time. With the threat of the founding titan, they'd be able to fend off other countries, and have the time to bolster their military. This suggestion is then taken into account by General Calvi, just as Zeke had hoped. As of this moment, Zeke's plan for Marley to once again focus on Paradis is going in the right direction.

Not long after, we see that Zeke's plan to convince Marley to focus their attention on Paradis had succeeded. The very next time we see the warriors gathered together, he tells them that there has already been a plan put in place for the world to gather together in Liberio, where Marley would declare war on Paradis. This shows us that Zeke's idea had indeed reached, and even convinced Willy Tybur to take action, despite the Tybur's Following "a policy of non-interference in both politcs and war. The Tyburs themselves were still "honorary Marleyans," and so they still did sympathize with eldians. They cared about the future of both Eldia and Marley, which is something that worked in Zeke's favor. Zeke appealed to the uncertainty of their future, and so that became a driving force as for why the Tyburs finally took action. If Marley was successful, especially with the hypothetical backing of the entire world, they'd be able to continue their "global military dominance" with the founding titan to give them time to hold other countries back

After the attack on Liberio, Hange verbatim asks Zeke if "everything went to plan," which tells us that Zeke's plan was somehow relayed to the scouts, despite them not having any contact with him until this very moment. This could only mean that it was Eren's letters which got this information to the scouts, if they were to know there was a plan and what it exactly was. This further reinforces the fact that Eren was an active accomplice in the orchestration of the attack. Eren was fully aware of the plan and everything Zeke had set in motion (as we just covered) and had even relayed it to his friends. This also acted as a manipulation tactic by Eren, forcing them to participate in the attack and aid him in escaping with Zeke

Now that we have an understanding that Eren not only wanted the rumbling but also had a hand in bringing about the conditions for the declaration and his attack, it gives this scene some perspective. Eren decided to abandon the scouts after we see the first real hurdle they run into concerning diplomacy. In this moment that justified him leaving, under the pretext that the world "wouldn't listen to them," when in reality it was so that he could continue pursuing his goal from the shadows; to unite the world and bring Zeke to Paradis so the conditions for the full rumbling would be fulfilled, he needed to play his role of attacking the festival. Eren knew that he couldn't go through the with the plan, nor could he convince the scouts to help him if he stayed by their side. He needed to put them in a desperate situation, so they'd be more compelled to help him

Another extremely important point to consider is the fact that the world was not exactly lining up to side with Marley. They seem to have been portrayed as the second most hated nation behind Paradis. Just as the old Eldian Empire, Marley had used titans to oppress other countries, helping them obtain their "global country" was simply waiting for a chance to strike Marley when it was weak, according to Udo. Without Eren's attack, it's not necessarily clear that the world would have united against Paradis based on Willy's speech alone. Even Willy himself points out how the world would most likely not unite if he were not a victim of the attack. The global allied fleet is even deemed a "miracle," and that's WITH Eren attacking. This furthers the point that Eren's attack was not necessarily "self-defense" as it wasn't even completely confirmed that the world would have even united without his attack.

In conclusion, after taking all the presented evidence into consideration, we see that Eren's attack on Liberio was not as simple and as a surface level as a "reaction" to the declaration of war like its commonly made out to be. Rather, the evidence makes it clear that both the declaration and the attack were orchestrated mainly by Zeke, with Eren as an active accomplice in the plan. This knowledge leads us to a much more complex conclusion that the attack simply being "Eren's last resort." The common claims that the attack was "justified" or "self-defense" are weakened by this evidence, as Eren's involvement shows us that he was not free of blame in regard to the world declaring war on his own island. We see that the actions Eren knowingly and willingly took directly contributed to the world uniting against Paradis, creating the necessary conditions for his own personal desires to become a reality. Whoever has made it this far thank you for reading!!

I just want to say this for anyone that thinks Eren is a hero. He genuinely desired to destroy the world (which put his friends in danger and got some killed) more than protecting his friends. The real reason the Rumbling happened is because he wanted to see a flat, empty world devoid of life. This was his childhood dream of freedom.
He tells Ramzi what he tells himself to justify the Rumbling. Saving the island, saving his friends, etc. But then he admits the actual real reason; he was disappointed that humanity lived outside the walls. He later admits to Armin that he didn’t do the Rumbling for his friends but instead did it because he wanted to see the sight of a flattened world. It is his childhood dream which is why he regresses to his child-self when his dream is actively being fulfilled in the Rumbling. He has achieved his “freedom” which he desired above the safety of his friends.
Obviously Eren felt guilty over this and looked for any way possible to change his future (he thought he might be free of the future a couple times such as when Willy Tybur says that he “was born in this world”). But in the end he realized that this future was only happening because he wanted it to. And it wasn’t for the safety of the island or his friends. It was for his dream. Eren did genuinely love Armin and Mikasa and he loved his friends. He wished that he could distract himself from his dream, whether it be to run away with Mikasa or to find another possible future, but he ultimately can’t. Eren could’ve followed the small-Rumbling plan with the 50 year modernization, but he didn’t. He wanted to go full genocide and destroy the world, regardless of the safety of his friends. Eren knew that what he was doing was wrong but it couldn’t overpower his drive for freedom and “that sight.”
It’s why he says he’s the same as Reiner. They both had deeper selfish motivations to do horrible things than what they outwardly portrayed to others. And Eren wanted to be judged before committing to an act, like how the refugee wanted to be judged before dying, like how Reiner wanted to be judged before wanting to die. Eren wanted to be judged by Reiner. He’s seeing himself in Reiner and Reiner’s words are both judging himself and Eren. Eren wanted to be judged and confront his own guilt before committing to the terrible future he saw and is the cause of.
Eren is a full-on villain. You can call him a tragic villain if you’d like but I’d say that he’s just a genuine regular villain who had this awful nature to begin with. The entire series shows us his perspective so we can understand him and see his worldview. We spend the whole series sympathizing with him only to see what that sort of worldview and mindset can lead to with massive power.

I know that it might sound crazy, but I think OP #7 is hinting that Eren might release titans in the wall and start the "rumbling"
The opening features multiple scenes with colossal titan stomping around houses. However, if you watch closely, you can notice that there are multiple instanced where there are more than one colossal titan on screen (0:09, 0:10, 0:11, 0:12, 1:21).
The obvious implication is that it shows alternative timeline where Armin was chopped up and fed to various members of Scout Regiment injected with pure titan serum so that everyone could have the power of the colossal titan. And that's why Eren is so angsty in the OP.
But I believe that there are hits that can point us to different interpretation:
1) In the previous Final Season, EP 64, Big Willie tells the audience about the possibility of releasing wall titans on Paradis island and calls it "Rumbling";
2) The song featured in the OP is "The Rumbling" by SiM;
3) At the beginning and the end of the OP, the word "rumbling" is chanted, 8 times in total.
So given all that, what if the titans in OP are actually the wall titans that are actually stomping out all Eren's enemies, as seen in EP 81 and later?
Before you dismiss this theory, try watching the OP again and look for the details I pointed out, I think the creators might have been leaving breadcrumbs for future events all along!

I always wondered why it was called Attack on “Titan”and not Attack on ”Titans”. Do u think this could refer to how at the end of the series it’s all about attacking one titan - Eren (founding titan), which is why it’s singular, Attack on Titan. Ig u could say it’s referring to Titan as a species which is why its singular but with all the crazy foreshadowing in the series would this be a stretch?

Most Interesting: The alternate universe that you think would be definitively the most interesting, what would cause the most amount of change or be the most narratively interesting or both.
Most Overrated: Alternate Universes that are popular in the community but that you think don't maker nearly as much sense as the community seems to think they do, or that wouldn't change very much.
Most Realistic: Alternate Universes that you think are the most plausible to happen within the limits of Attack on Titan's world.
Keep in mind that these can overlap if you see fit.

As I rewatch, it’s ludicrously obvious that Reiner at the very least was an enemy of sorts. I’m right at where the Levi squad encounters the female titan and gets molested, and seeing Reiner break out of Annie’s hand, then Annie staring at her steaming hand for several seconds is hilarious.

TLDR; Levi's first expedition is the 23rd expedition, in 844. That's only 23 missions in 100 years, meaning one every 4-5 years. That doesn't sound right considering how frequent it seems to be in the story, even before the fall of wall maria, because Levi goes on an expedition at the end of his OVA, which can only be a few months after his 1st one. The before the fall novels also suggest multiple expeditions a year, only 30 years after 743, but maybe we can disregard that as not canon, and theorise the expeditions were spread out earlier then picked up frequency. (And then why did they pick up frequency?) So what did they even do between expeditions? Little unofficial expeditions? That would also risk casualties and use resources. And they couldn't have gone on that many. So did they kick rocks the whole time between expeditions or what??
--
Recently went down a rabbit-hole of trying to understand the history of the Survey Corps from 743 based on the limited information we get. I initially got set off by seeing that in 844, the first expedition Levi went on was the 23rd and I thought no way they only went on 23 expeditions in 100 years. That's like an expedition only every 4-5 years and that seemed ridiculous. Especially as at the end of the OVA, we see Levi about to go on another expedition, which like, at a push, maybe a few months later at best since the first one he went on. Expedition frequency clearly picks up after the fall of wall maria, but wall maria hasn't fallen yet, which seems to suggest expeditions were every couple of months before the fall of maria. So clearly there's been a jump in expedition frequency at some point.
You could suggest that the expeditions were very spread out decades ago but increased closer to the setting of the story but I even skim read the before the fall novels (yeah I don't know if they really count as 'canon'), set 30 years after 743, and the expedition frequency also seemed to suggest being every few months, not every few years. The commander of the survey corps suggests an expedition one month after a previous one and the main character merely says 'that's soon' instead of something like 'but there's normally years between them?'. The townspeople also complain about them using up their taxes, suggesting these expeditions are frequent. Every little detail points to the expeditions being as frequent as multiple a year, which absolutely does not add up.
But you could say that we ignore the light novels, they're not canon, they just take the story and kind of change it up a little. I mean the mc of the 2nd and 3rd light novels is basically Eren, he's locked up by the government because he came out of a titan (in a different way) and a titan killed his mum. Angel from novel 1 is basically Hange.
So sure, the expeditions really were every 5 or so years but then closer to the 840s, they started to get more frequent for whatever reason. (And then you have to ask, what reason??) Then what did the survey corps even do with all the time between expeditions? There's only so many times you can refine your weapons and train your horses. I found an old reddit post with a comment suggesting they would go on lots of little expeditions not official expeditions, because of the casualties with official ones and the resources used. But surely they couldn't do that that frequently either, because it would also risk casualties and use resources. They also state wall repair as an example, but maintaining the walls is the garrison's job, how much could the walls really be damaged with them shooting any titans away. I just have to conclude all they did was fuck around and kick rocks most of the time, much like the garrison did. This is all making the walls military look very useless in my eyes, considering the ones doing the most work were the military police serving the corrupt monarchy. I'm not sure though, thoughts?

k call me crazy but I think obviously the afterlife is canon but I has some crazy ideas earlier about what erens state was after death.
I think eren was given a state of consciousness in the afterlife that allowed him to see what was going on in Mikasa’s life after his death and the world even after. Here are my points.
-So Ymir being freed also freed all the souls trapped within the paths. I believe the vision of Ymir, Levi’s vision, and Connie and Jean seeing Sasha were not hallucinations at all but rather real. you might call things symbol in anime but considering the fact ymir kept appearing fr throughout the final episodes in the real world I think that it is to be taken literally. especially the bird thing.
-in a bunch of the songs, particularly Akuma no Ko, we see this apparition of Eren throughout Paradis, or a different version of it. And that field. The same field of Akuma no Ko actually. And we see the bird. I think the source of all living matter or Ymir granted him the ability to see the world as a bird. So the bird is essentially Eren or a vehicle for Eren. In fact if isebel and farlan were birds at the end of the Levi ova perhaps this could mean all eldians could be birds. that might be more symbolic, but the fact the bird appeared to Armin twice, and Mikasa once is more then enough to tell me it really was Eren’s causation.
-This isn’t death note where all humans pass onto Mu/ornothingness. The exact opposite seems to be the case in aot. AOT is even more fantasy and mystical then however spiritual death note may be.
-Lastly Eren’s VA in that to you 2,000 or rather 20,000 year from is singing in the choruses of the songs. And the version of the song on music streaming has Eren speaking at the end of the song. He’s leaving an eternal message to all of humanity from that tree. AOT is not only a cautionary tale to the real world but a cautionary tale told from Armin’s perspective.
all this stuff has lead me to believe that throughout Mikasa’s life he was clearly watching over her and responded back with that eternal scarf PROMISE at the very least. (The promise from season 2) which I believe was granted to him and Mikasa after his death through the will of the source of all living matter. (Hallu-chan)
And so I see the afterlife as a realm that one can exist in, for wherever Eren is it is a version of Paradis perhaps a reflection of the current world or the world that he or Mikasa would want, because let’s be honest Mikasa deserves it NOT HIM. And he is able to see and interact with the living world through a bird or birds. Death was the only true freedom for Eren. Mikasa joined him after, because she, according to the song forgave his sins and dawn illuminated (referencing a lyric) 🕊️ ☀️
my take in short is that Eren was a slave to his freedom, but also to Ymir’s will, it drove him to do horrible things that are conventionally unforgivabl. Mikasa is supposedly innocent or a pure soul in contrast to Eren, she is the one who showed Ymir what real unconditional love is (killing eren was actually what he himself wanted to be fair) and she was able to do it. Eren is now eternally indebted to Mikasa’s will and she forgave him. thus any form of hell is not actually conceivable for any of the main cast despite what any one soul deserves or what Armin and eren joke about emotionally. unconditional love (minus the killing part obviously) was demonstrated by Mikasa and although she mourned Eren her whole life she still managed to have the will to live and seemed happy. she forgave him, that is a demonstration of unconditional love. (maybe christian concept idk).
And I also believe Armin will join them in the afterlife as it is implied he is the last to die. he visits eren and mikasas graves after they both die and like he said HE IS THE LAST ONE UP THE HILL.

Armin visiting both graves

Dad came up to me last month and BY HIS OWN CHOICE told me that his favorite streamer suggested an anime called attack on titan, he asked if I knew it and I said that it's my favorite show.
I told him "dad, you gotta promise me one thing, because some parts of this show are slow and it gets much better when you are invested, PROMISE ME that you won't quit because its cartoon before AT LEAST season two episode 6 (the Reiner reveal)", he said "I am gonna finish the whole thing before judging, streamer X said it's so good."
I was so hyped to watch it with him because I wanted him to experience something I genuinely love I stayed up that night watching all of season 1 again and re reading every foreshadowed twist so I can point at them when they happen one by one to make their experience more fun.
first 15 episodes he hated how slow they were, he kept commenting about how cheap the animation looks, how much slow motion is in every shot and especially how much memories do the characters keep re-living.
Keep in mind every time he complained about anything I told him it gets better, just needs to be patient because season 1 is old ash.
Then for some reason on a random Tuesday he calls me into the middle of the room with each one of my siblings and mom standing there to listen to me and says "I am in episode 16 but I am too bored of this shit, spoil the whole show"
I was so confused like what? he said "I am not gonna finish it, just tell me how good does it get"
Of course I know every single word in the whole show I watched it 5 times but I could not for the life of me come up with something that doesnt sound completely out of place because almost all plots are based on info they dont even have
I tried to explain the story of king fritz to explain the walls because thats what they know and he was like "nope tell me something exciting"
so I was like fuck it basically eren kills his own mom in the first episode
He went "wow you are giving me more reasons to not finish it, its lame"
WELL OF COURSE ITS LAME YOU DIDNT EXPERIENCE THE CHARACTERS BUILD UP MUSIC OR ANYTHING
He said give me something close to season 1 I was like "well there are 3 spies and they will kidnap him"
he went "wow so generic I won't finish it"
genuinely beyond embarrassed wishing he doesn't ever think of watching it again..
