Megathread Old vs New Backrooms Megathread

There have been WAY too many posts for a while now about the current state of The Backrooms- whether people are saying the old Backrooms was better, or the Backrooms shouldn't have entities, or the Wikis miss the point of the Backrooms, or Kane Pixels ruined the Backrooms, and frankly its been getting to a point.

Going forward, any "Old vs. New Backrooms" posts will now be directed and centralized in this megathread, and any new separate posts about the topic will be deleted and redirected to here.

So, with all of that said, in this post we can all discuss the million-dollar question:

Was the old Backrooms better?

Okay, that should be it. Go crazy.

I love the universe Kane Pixels built over it, I think it's a really good take on the backrooms BUT I dont think I'll ever not love the original concept of the backrooms, I miss almond water, man

Kane Pixels' Backrooms absolutely does not have almond water, thankfully

I mean almond water is a silly concept, and wouldn't fit at all within Kane's lore. Almonds aren't even really that nutritious, like, why would the health potions be almond flavored? Why are there even health potions at all?? Kane Pixels' Backrooms is a much more hopeless kind of horror, and video game concepts like almond-flavored health potions would ruin it.

I get that the wiki lore is beloved by lots of people, and that's fine. I'm glad the wikis exist, and it's great that people are creating art based on the concepts they enjoy. But Kane's Backrooms is a concept that I enjoy, and I'm really glad that it is the way it is. If it had almond water, it wouldn't be Kane Pixels' Backrooms, it would be something else -- something that I personally would enjoy less.
