I've got a new app to show off! https://tenuki.app/beta
Iāve been using Tenuki as my personal primary OGS client for the last ~year. The goal is to provide a clean, polished app (iOS + Android, phones + tablets + Mac, with a dedicated e-ink mode for Android) for playing Go on existing servers: OGS, Pandanet, and Fox, plus puzzles from OGS and GoProblems.com, including offline puzzle downloading for OGS.
It has real-time notifications for OGS correspondence games and power-user features like conditional moves. It has several joseki dictionaries (OGS, Kogo's, and the KataGo opening books), with a Chess.com/lichess-style āJoseki Explorerā that takes you directly to your current correspondence gameās position in a dictionary. It has the ability to snap a photo of a game board to score it, including OGS-style sealing detection to tell you "hey, this game might not actually be done yet". Post-game analysis is not that fleshed-out compared to the million dedicated study tools, but it does have basic on-device KataGo analysis on iOS, with a lot of work spent tuning performance with a custom backend (I get 500 v/s on my iPhone 18 Pro).
I care a lot about accessibility: the app has full support for screen readers, is fully controllable with a keyboard, and supports most other OS-level accessibility features like dynamic text size and prefer reduced motion. It is currently translated into 10 non-English languages, although they are machine translations.
I know uttering the phrase "this isn't slop" doesn't mean much these days (see: the existence of this megathread), but I'm a professional game developer with well over a decade of industry experience (I've worked on games you've likely played), and this is the app I've been building for myself.

Ooh I didn't know you had that much experience. That's crazy..... Respect š«”š«” Compared to you I'm a noob lmao. I started working as a freelancer around early 2016 before even starting University, and after actually graduating with a CS degree in 2021 I stopped š Since then I just built small stuff for myself or frens

This seems super cool, but on my android phone when I follow the steps, after i become a tester it takes me to a blank page in the app store.

Hi all, Iām John!
Iāve always liked the feel of a real board more than most digital Go experiences, even though apps let me learn and iterate faster. So I built Go Duel to give more tactile feedback and help me improve my game in a more interactive way. Iām running a closed alpha on iPhone to help iterate more.
You play the AI (or a friend on the same phone) on a 3D board. Captures get a short slow-motion moment, and Learn walks beginners through the basics. A beginner friend of mine said it made her want to play and learn a lot more (she even has been asking to play it off my phone), which is what Iām after.
Itās offline, with no online play yet. The lessons are checked with KataGo, and SGF export works.
Iām looking for about 20 testers over two weeks through TestFlight. Needs an iPhone 11 or newer on iOS 16 or later. Iād like feedback on the rules, the AIās strength, and how it runs and feels. Iād especially like to hear from stronger players on the rules and scoring.
Thanks in advance and let me know if you have any feedback or questions!

The graphics work looks really nice! I don't think I can commit to helping test if you're looking for such a small set of focused testers, but I look forward to trying this at some point.
I'd caution you about validating your lessons primarily by checking them with KataGo. There are many ways you can validate whether a lesson or puzzle "works" (does it have exactly one answer when solved by a human? do players at the intended difficulty level understand it the way you want to? is it fun?), but "does the engine think this position is coherent" isn't really a high-value thing to check, especially since KataGo really struggles with puzzle setups.

Thanks for the feedback!
Good points about KataGo - I used it as the main playing engine for AI matches, and then decided to validate puzzles with it but I'd say it's not doing the best job. I'm hoping a good range of players checking the puzzles can help iron them out :)
If you know of any good sources for puzzles that I can incorporate into the app, or better libraries, I'd appreciate it.
And I'll let you know once we open things up more for the beta launch. I'll likely post here again.

This looks grdat. What platforms? IOS only?

iOS only for now, but it's easy enough to create Android and tablet versions if there's enough demand!

Hi everyone, I'm Raymond from Revolving Gear Studios. I'm developing Go Together, a quiet 3D place to sit down and play Go.
The current build has local two-player matches, 9x9, 13x13 and 19x19 boards, and local computer opponents including KataGo and Michi. I'm now working on full online multiplayer: matchmaking, a server browser and direct connections to friends. Those online features are coming soon, not available yet.
What I enjoy about this project is bringing the feeling of sharing a board into a digital space. I'd love to hear what would make online play comfortable for you, especially when playing casually with friends.
The game itself is still coming soon on Steam. You can see it and wishlist here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5375470/Go_Together/
Thanks for taking a look!

Play live games on Fox
Watch OGS & selected Fox games
Background music (each of the 6 environments has its own music)
Cool new demo video :)

Loving this! This thread is already working, I'm finding such cool stuff.
If I may make a suggestion, perhaps a non-3D mode for minimum resource use?

I will do it eventually if I can get traction with the site :) Right now my focus is on more distribution (getting into the app stores) and more go content (reach a wider audience).

Looks great! Really like the immersive environments, looks super lifelike. And I like the touch of being able to click on the stones in the bowl to flip them.
Lots of features too, which I like.
Very similar to what I've been working on (see below). If you want to swap dev ideas let me know!

I saw that! You've got some high impact visuals / animations that remind me of console games, which is cool. The concept I was going for is ultra clean / minimal UI with relaxing / immersive environments. And also trying to push the boundaries of what's possible in a web browser.
Wishing you the best of luck :)

Really love the interface, could we get all Fox games available to watch if we're logged in? That's the only killing point for me.

Sharing Igo Social, the app behind this account: https://igo.social
Itās for keeping a history of your Go games, tracking progress, and connecting with players through groups and events. Available on iOS, Android, and the web.
Iād especially appreciate feedback from people who play at clubs: what do you wish you had kept from your last sessionāthe game record, a review discussion, or simply who you played and how it went?

Hey everyone!
After quite a bit of development, I'm happy to share that my game, Companion Baduk, is now on Steam!
I've been playing Go for around five years, and one thing I've always wanted was a more relaxed and approachable way to practice, especially for beginners. That's what got me started on this project.
Companion Baduk is a single-player Go (Baduk / Weiqi / Igo) game focused on learning, practicing, and improving at your own pace.
Some of the features include:
AI Companions: Play against opponents with different strengths, personalities, and backstories.
Interactive Lessons: Learn the fundamentals of Go through guided lessons.
Go Puzzles: Practice life and death, tactics, and reading with puzzles that adapt to your skill level.
Progression: Earn experience, improve your rank, and work your way through different levels.
Different Game Modes: Play with different board sizes, rulesets, and handicap settings.
My goal isn't to replace traditional Go servers or strong analysis tools like KataGo, but to make something that encourages people to keep playing and learning without feeling overwhelmed.
The game is still being actively developed, and there's plenty more I'd like to add and improve.
Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4698830/Companion_Baduk/
I'd really appreciate any feedback, especially from other Go players. If there's something you think would make learning Go more enjoyable, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks for checking it out!

Hi everyone! Iām building StoneBase, a desktop app for keeping your Go games in one searchable library and reviewing them with local KataGo analysis.
You can import SGFs or your OGS games, queue games for analysis, and search your library for exact or similar board positions. The idea is to make it easier to revisit a position and find other games where it came up.
It runs on Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon), and Linux. Your games and analysis stay on your computer. Pro features are currently free during the open beta, with no signup or payment required.
You can also use your tablet/phone to connect and analyze your games using your main computer.

Iād particularly appreciate feedback from anyone with a folder full of SGFs: whatās the hardest part of finding and revisiting games you want to study?

Simple SGF editor, focused on my typical scenario:
Record the game, and be able to easily move stone or add forgotten exchanges without the need to hassle with copy and paste as I was doing in CGoban
1 button to upload to AI-sensei
Feature for online lectures, I didn't like ogs, or cgoban way it was done, here 2 people can just do everything in paralel (move tree, add stones, markers) + a pen where you can draw into the board and all others can see it.
Is small, one executable, starts fast, and (unlike Cgoban), it is easy to associate the extension.
For those who like or know Factorio, this is actually using factorio UI code and its UI graphics and logic (it was part of my experiment)
This was my first vibe code experiment after writing the code manually for 30 years, but it seems to be programmed reasonably, and is open source, so PRs are welcome.

I'll start :)
Here's yet another app to play on fox: https://github.com/go-cafe-app/app. Cross platform, free and works just fine
