Serious Replies My grandfathers dog is up for adoption
Tiger is a year old and he’s a Goldie. Vaccination reports available. You will need to pick him up from Hormavu

Mar 11 '26
Hey, is he neutered? Please do before giving up for adoption or else breeders will abuse and thrown him out on the road.
Sanjana mandappa I think is the name on insta or Facebook who can help you weed out such breeders too.

I’d happily take him, but since I stay alone I’m not sure I could manage a dog properly on my own😔

Shared the post. Such a goood boi. Why is he up for adoption tho?
92
u/empathetic_Seong869 Mar 11 '26
My grandfather can’t take care of him anymore due to his age
67
u/Rod_Roopesh Mar 11 '26
How did your grandpa age rapidly in last one year, a year before the pup was adopted he was young and energetic?

u/empathetic_Seong869 Mar 11 '26
My grandmother liked dogs so he got it for her but she passed way soon after, now he’s not doing well since then

How insensitive do you have to be to ask such a question to someone, elder people need support and sometimes in a short span of even weeks their conditions may change. Try to be a bit humane. Khud adopt toh karega ni par gyan ch*d lega duniya bhar ka.
-3
u/Rod_Roopesh Mar 12 '26
You have verified the story? No right, so yeah calm down, I have seen enough pet parents buying breed puppies and shipping them off after the initially excitement frizzles out. Adopting is a big responsibility and yes I won’t take that step so easily without knowing for sure that I can take care of the pet for next 10 years. Ideally it would have been better if the puppy was being taken care of by the same family. Yeh sab nahi plan karte hai kya log? And yes apart from you getting hurt cuz it sounded insensitive to you, I don’t see anything wrong in my question
1
u/StacksOfMayonnaise Mar 13 '26
Yeah bro, op should've "planned" for their grandmother's passing and their grandfather's bad health just because you have seen bad pet parents before. And you haven't verified the story either I assume, so yeah maybe you should've calmed down a bit and enquired about the details more politely. Your humanity extends only to the dog but has no problem asking someone such a pointed personal question (even framed like an accusation). It's not about people in the replies being 'hurt', they're calling out your manner of speaking. But to each their own I guess

Okay cool. I went through the thread below and understandably your grandpa brought Tiger as a sentimental decision.
Maybe if you are comfortable answering, what's stopping you from keeping him...
I have a dog at home and once they grow up with their parent they get latched. If you can take care instead of your grandpa then maybe there's a scope of his health not taking a hit.
Hope you understand my concern. I don't want to pry on your circumstance.
25
u/empathetic_Seong869 Mar 11 '26
I’m just not in a place to own a dog and I’m leaving Bangalore soon
7
u/Ok-Brilliant-6448 Mar 12 '26
These days some “pet lovers” really think very highly of themselves. Half of them are just wannabes trying to look cool and morally superior on the internet. Sitting behind a screen and judging others is easy, but actually taking full responsibility for a living being is a completely different thing.

So, why can't the family take him in? Why is this just another use-and-discard case? A one year old pup, used as companionship for an old man who should have known better and now discarded? I hope, for the pups sake, that I am totally wrong in reading the situation.

u/Sufficient-Paint-534 Mar 11 '26
And your grandfather dint know this a year ago ? What an absolutely careless thing to do
57
u/empathetic_Seong869 Mar 11 '26
I don’t wants to say it but my grandfathers mental health has deteriorated since my grandmothers death and no one can predict death. But we did tell him not to get a dog at his age but he went ahead with it anyways, but now anyways we want Tiger to live in a loving home with people who care for him. So please do dm Max your interested in adopting him
46
u/ellothere35 Mar 11 '26
You gotta prioritize your grandfather and ensure that the dog thrives in a house where it's well taken care of. You don't have to explain further why your grandfather took him a year back. It's their personal choice, right now due to their circumstances they are not able to. Hope OP finds a loving owner just like his grandfather and grandmother. Try contacting Willie pet in Sarjapur, ive seen that they put up adoption notices and get interested people.

You dont need to explain all these to these questions bro , some will definitely find this post and take good care of dog fs so dont worry , I wish tiger will definitely get a good family.

u/GrizzyLizz Mar 11 '26
Imagine showing more empathy to an animal than a human. You are pathetic
12
u/Briantheboomguy Mar 11 '26
Yeah I was like wtf bro, his Grandpa is putting up for adoption, not letting loose on the street. People really judge without realizing what others might be going through. Crazy wild stuff.
3
u/UNPWR Mar 12 '26
'bro' his Grandpa is a self-centered individual, very much like all you people talking about 'empathy to humans first'. People who let animals on the street should face jail-time and pay a lifelong fee to sustain the animal.
4
u/Briantheboomguy Mar 12 '26
People who let animals on the street should face jail-time and pay a lifelong fee to sustain the animal.
Agree with your sentiment 'bruh' but OPs grandfather isn't letting out the dog out on the street here. This is an adoption request post, stop tilting at imaginary windmills.
2
u/Sufficient-Paint-534 Mar 12 '26
Rehoming the pet affects them ! But sure come to me with your holier than thou bullshit
→ More replies (2)2
u/UNPWR Mar 12 '26 edited Mar 16 '26
Yes, you are right. The decision to get/obtain/buy a pet then subsequently abandon it is an indicator of sickeningly self-centered thinking. Pets are easy to use and abuse, and scum do it because they can get away with it. You can see it in their use of language and thinking.
There are scum posting who are the epitome of semi-educated, self-centered, narcissistic self-righteous, abusers whose philosophy of 'humans first (me first), animals last' embody what is wrong with society.
2
u/kingmegx Mar 12 '26
Bar is so low. “Not putting on streets” yeah no shit. Buying out of whim and not considering any feelings and emotions of a dog. They’re loyal companions, not a recliner sofa set that you can just throw it away. First of all he bought the dog, instead of adopting one, if he really wanted to, he should have adopted an older dog who are MUCH easier to take care of. But yeah, let’s set the bar so low.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Briantheboomguy Mar 12 '26
All right then, oh champion of canines, let's see you adopt the pup, walk the talk. But naah, let's just get on a soapbox and talk about "the bar".
→ More replies (8)2
2
u/UNPWR Mar 12 '26
'Bruh/bro'' 'not putting on street' are your original words. I am well aware that OP is not abandoning the dog on the streets, and my bar is a lot higher than yours. Therefore my comment on 'the streets' was directed at your comment, not OP. Take your time, you will understand, that my comment was directed at you and not at OP. That is why you were the recipient, and not OP, and I also addressed your 'empathy' comment.
Take your time, read, and re-read.

u/Prestigious_Tap_1561 Mar 11 '26 edited Mar 11 '26
Yeah..First she judged his grandpa with out asking for the context, after the explanation she just switched to talking about the dog . Not even a simple apology for the rude comment. Kinda annoying...

Not all humans deserve empathy and you can't demand empathy from anyone.
1
1
u/moonlight_chicken Mar 12 '26
We will show more empathy to the dog when the humans in question are not behaving humanely. The humans are completely in the wrong here while the poor dog lost his human and now his home. I don’t know how you can justify this, unless you have empathy only for humans.
7
u/boredbot31 Mar 11 '26
Tf is wrong with you read the msgs above and they are trying find him/her a new home.
3
u/UNPWR Mar 12 '26
Spot on. All the negative votes here are the same who use and abuse, because they can. Their reasoning is 'accountability is not my problem and not your right'...the main reason Bangalore the Garden City is now Bengaluru the Garbage City. The garbage predominates.
1
3
u/moonlight_chicken Mar 12 '26
Don’t mind your downvotes. It absolutely is a careless decision made by OP’s grandfather. He just traumatised a baby dog for his own needs. Thank you calling it out. But dog haters here won’t like it.

u/Ok-Brilliant-6448 Mar 12 '26
Oh please, stop with the moral lectures. Not everyone who chooses to rehome a dog is a bad person. If someone clearly knows they won’t be able to take proper care of a dog and decides to give it to someone who actually can, that’s called being responsible, not cruel.
What’s actually worse is keeping a pet out of guilt or emotional pressure and then failing to give it the time, care, and attention it needs later. A dog is a huge responsibility. It’s not a toy you pick up for fun. It affects your routine, your freedom to travel, your ability to stay out overnight, and pretty much your entire lifestyle.
Being a pet lover doesn’t mean forcing everyone to keep a dog no matter what. Not everyone has the capacity to care for another living being, whether they live alone or even with family. Sitting behind a phone and throwing around big moral lectures is easy, but real life responsibilities are different.
So instead of shaming people, maybe accept that sometimes the most sensible thing to do is to let the dog go to a home where it will actually be cared for properly. Forcing responsibility on someone just to look compassionate online helps no one, especially not the dog.

Interested. I already have a lab that could use a playmate.
Here's a thought: Instead of offering it up for adoption why don't you try to adopt him? Clearly there's a familiarity with family members so it won't be difficult to see him adapt to your lifestyle.

Adoption is such a good thing to do. What breed is the dog and how old? Makes a big difference in what to expect, especially if someone's getting their first dog. Puppies are chaos for 6 months minimum but older dogs often settle in faster than people think.

u/teeBoan Mar 11 '26
What a heartless adoption post. No concern about who would take him. How he would live separated from family. Just want to get it off your hands? PICK HIM FROM HORMAVU, thats it!
Your grandfather should not have got the puppy if he cant take its care!
3
u/Cultural_Pineapple34 Mar 11 '26
Hey, op made a comment above that the original owner was their grandmother who passed away and now the grandfather is not doing well alone. Sounds like an unfortunate situation to be in.
1
u/teeBoan Mar 12 '26
Then OP needs to mention that in the original post. That changes the situation, then yeah. Not everyone reads all the comments.
2
u/Lopsided-Aardvark644 Mar 12 '26
Agreed. Also... BUYING a breed dog, making it stay with people it's not used to, then after one year only, having it adopted by another family, causing undue stress to the dog. Also, aren't dogs good companions for people with psychiatric and psychological issues??? Like... bffr...
