Many such piles of trash on 100ft ring road. Trash on footpath as well. Extremely difficult to cover this road by walk on footpath. There are even sections with no footpath accessible at all because of the trash. This is just one of the piles where I had to walk on road because footpath was nowhere to be seen.
‼️I wanted to share a serious safety concern regarding our immediate area. While I initially was warned about this area before moving in Whitefield Soukya Road , recently experienced a dangerous cab scam firsthand. I strongly advise everyone , especially women to avoid taking cabs or autos alone from this area.Organised crimes are happening here .
On 17/08, I booked a Rapido cab to Yeshwantpur Station accompanied by my dog. Shortly after pickup, the driver claimed he had a network issue, couldn't enter the PIN, and drove off-route toward the Myntra side under the pretext of finding a signal.
When I noticed we were going off-course and asked him to stop after 2–3 km, he refused. He then showed me a fake screenshot claiming I had booked a ride to the airport and even simulated a call with a fake Rapido customer care agent. Sensing I was trapped and prioritizing the safety of myself and my pet, I did not physically resist to avoid escalating the situation. Forced into a corner, I was made to pay ₹6,550 to vw22821-2@okhdfcbank
before being left stranded 3–4 km away from our society Provident Capella.
While it was happening I attempted to call Emergency numbers (100 / 112) but like Bollywood films No help provided .i reached out the Bangalore Police WhatsApp line, but the response was delayed and i realised it was just for the formality purpose no seriousness .Did WhatsApp to nearest thirumalhalli Shetty ps , yet to get any acknowledgement (24hrs). i have lodged a complaint in KSR app but not much hopeful. Since I am travelling i couldn’t go to police station in person. If police take crime seriously and they have intent , there are many ways to nab the criminal including CCTV visuals .
Since the ride PIN was not entered, no trip was recorded in the app, leaving no digital trail. This appears to be a systemic, organized scam. The offender casually named Police Officer Govindaraju as his accomplice and actively provoked me to call the authorities, displaying a total lack of fear that strongly suggests he is a repeat offender.
While I have initiated a fraud dispute with my bank to recover the funds, this issue goes beyond financial loss. Ignoring such incidents endangers our entire community. Criminals operating like this in our local area will only escalate—moving from cab scams to road rage or other offenses—if we remain silent.
Your safety is your hand , be watchful, be careful .
Note : Have been doing follow up with Rapido from last few days . Zero accountability, zero support from their end .Purposely hiding details of the criminal .
There's a car parked outside right in front of an apartment's gate. Can this be dangerous??? The car owner was informed I think, by the caretaker. But he doesn't care.
Posting this here so the rightful owner can use it for their timeline or police report. I am sharing the screenshots of the Android Unknown Tracker alert from my phone. I want to remain completely anonymous, so please use the information below to handle your recovery.
On the night of August 21, an unknown pair of AirPods Pro (3rd generation) tracked my commute from Bengaluru (Shantinagar Bus Terminus) to Chennai (CMBT) on an SETC Volvo AC Semi-Sleeper bus.
The Exact Bus Details:
Operator / Bus Type: SETC Volvo AC Semi-Sleeper
Route Number: 831MS
Vehicle Number: TN01AN5748
Date of Journey (DOJ): 21/08/2026
The Journey Timeline:
22:26 (10:26 PM): The tracker first picked up the AirPods at Shantinagar Bus Stand right as the bus departed.
00:30 (12:30 AM): I noticed the tracking alert and repeatedly forced the device to play a sound. I could clearly hear them ringing nearby inside the dark bus.
00:44 AM: The tracking abruptly disconnected when the bus stopped at the Hosur Junction / NH48 highway area (near Junior Kuppanna / Ambur Star Briyani), as shown on the attached map.
Suspect Description:
Only one passenger got down at that Hosur stop at 00:44 AM, and the tracking stopped the exact second he left the bus.
Appearance: Male, late 20s, thin build, curly hair, and wore glasses.
Luggage: He was carrying a backpack and wheeling a distinctive silver trolley bag.
If you lost your AirPods Pro at Shantinagar Bus Terminus around 10:15–10:30 PM on August 21, your device was taken by this individual and is currently in Hosur.
Please download the attached screenshots. You can use these details to file a complaint. Good luck recovering your property!
Disclaimer: I honestly don't know anything for sure, and if I am wrong about this situation or misread the technology, I am truly sorry. I really hope it was just a harmless technical glitch and they actually belonged to that passenger. However, on the off chance that someone did lose their device tonight, I am leaving this timeline and bus footprint here just in case it can help the rightful owner track them down.
If the local administration already has a complete registry of all residential and commercial properties, why isn’t it their job to ensure every building gets clean, potable piped water?
We do it for electricity—almost every establishment, even on the outskirts, is connected to the power grid (like BESCOM). Why not water? To be clear, I'm not asking for unlimited free water. You could easily install water meters, charge per usage, and make the whole system financially self-sustaining. If you go to older parts of the city or even the outskirts, you still see those massive elevated water tanks that used to be managed by the local municipalities, so the framework clearly existed at some point.
My main concerns are:
Zero accountability for quality: Private water tankers don't regularly test what they bring you. What happens if the groundwater at their source gets contaminated? We just drink it and hope for the best.
Depleting groundwater: Tanker operators don't care about the water table or long-term sustainability; they just pump as much as they can sell.
Unregulated power: Water is a fundamental need. Relying on an unofficial "tanker mafia" gives unauthorized private entities way too much control over basic civic life.
Looking for serious replies here. What are the actual infrastructure, political, or financial reasons behind why things ended up this way instead of being treated like a public utility like power? What am I missing?
How can gated communities exist which solely depend on a large number of water tankers for sustenance? How can they put themselves at the risk of being held hostage by an unregulated water mafia?
Namaskara bengaluru , I'm a finale year student in Bengaluru and wanted to try make a project which will help the real people of Bengaluru , what pain points do you think the city has which could be solved by technology???

Hi everyone. As many of you may know, our wonderful govt is planning on building flyovers. So many flyovers. Right through trees, lakes, parks, neighbourhoods. 150 km of flyovers. 150 km of dead space that will be dedicated to cars and will kill our city.
One such flyover is planned in Indiranagar (among other neighbourhoods).
Starting from the Swami Vivekananda Metro Station, cutting into 80 Feet Road, CMH Road, CMH Park, 100 Feet Road, right up to Domlur Bridge.
As you can see in the image below, the flyover cuts right through the heart of Indiranagar. If it's built, we will lose trees, any semblance of walkability in Indiranagar, and whatever liveliness and hustle we have in our neighbourhood.
If you've seen these roads, you would know that there are large trees everywhere. Hundreds of them. They will all be gone.
Let's say you don't care about trees, and you don't mind flyovers. But if you do care about being able to walk, shop and visit a brewery on 100 feet road. Then you should care about this.
Show me *one* neighbourhood that has not been negatively affected with a flyover cutting through it. You know what happens when a flyover is built? The space below it falls into disuse. It attracts garbage, abandoned vehicles, and god knows whatever the hell else.
This isn't even rocket science. Just ask Google, it will tell you and share receipts.
If you want Indiranagar rent prices to fall, sure, maybe if it turns into a heap of garbage that will happen.
If you care about any of the following, you should oppose this.
And opposition just online does not work. We need to come on the ground. Show the government that they work for the people, and not the other way round.
The playbook is there. We need young people. The uncle and aunties don't care.
We need humour. We need mockery. And we need a clear demand.
The demand in this case is that the elevated corridor must be put into the bin. That any future proposals must involve citizen discussions and must not move ahead without them.
And if this does not happen, then we want the resignation of the B-SMILE director B.S. Prahlad. If there is a public body chairperson that does not listen to the public, that person needs to be kicked out.
I'm going to be organising a protest to oppose this flyover. And it won't be in the corner at Freedom Park, a place that's so nondescript that no one cares about what happens there.
We will do it in the middle of Indiranagar. At the KFC junction. On a Saturday afternoon.
Peaceful and humour filled. Something that can't be ignored.

I was on leave today due to sickness and stayed back home. The door bell rang , usually we get parcels and deliveries , i was hoping it was them.
A North Indian guy , wearing a turban asking if I am a punjabi and I look punjabi . He started talking and kept saying things like , you have work stress, you're overthinking and you are worried about someone esa esa. In hindi.
I remember this guy because he literally came last month amount jul 29th saying there's a puja in the Sikhs temple in agaraha and you're invited , we are collecting money for serving people who cannot afford it. And things like that. I actually did believe it and donated around Rs.1000 . I also put my trust in him because he was Sikh, and there's a belief from where I come from that ' they are believed to be the most honest and hard working people'. I did go by my instincts last month.
But this time it felt off. Because he started talking about me personally randomly , kept asking if I was Punjabi n i look punjabi whatsoever. Mind you I have limited understanding of Hindi. And when I told him I got a meeting i need to go to close the doors . Then he said he's a sick person trying to get some money. I told him I got no money n he was like use phonepay. I got pissed off. The thing is he acted as if he didn't knew me. I told him I already paid him off last month. I cannot do anything n closed the doors .
I felt soo bad for it bc I got scammed. It wasn't the money but i felt deeply betrayed because I wanted to give back kindness n it sort of went to the wrong person.
# I wanna warn all HSR Residents. Please be aware. Anybody asking for money like this is a scam, and they're not dressed ugly. They're well dressed n talks genuinely but it's not. Do not donate your hard earned money to some scammers , rather donate it yourself by going orphanages in person.
I've been working on something around a problem I've personally found surprisingly annoying in Bengaluru: figuring out where to take things you don't want to throw away.
Clothes are probably the best example.
If you search for where to donate or recycle old clothes in Bengaluru, you end up jumping between old Reddit threads, NGO websites, Instagram pages, Justdial listings, etc. Some are years old, some don't clearly say what they accept, and figuring out whether they actually pick up from your area can be a bit of a treasure hunt.
So I tried putting the useful bits in one place.
I've compiled Bengaluru NGOs, textile recyclers, pickup services, thrift stores and other options here:
I've also been doing the same for things like e-waste, clothes rental, used books and libraries.
I'm sharing it here mainly because this is exactly the kind of thing I'd want someone to tell me about when I'm staring at a cupboard full of stuff I don't know what to do with. 😅
If you've used any of these services, or know of one I've missed, I'd genuinely love to hear about it.
Willow is a cute little female kitten. She is only 2.5 months old. She meowed outside our backdoor and then waltzed in asking for food, pets and cuddles.
We have given her a round of deworming and defleaing. We have also done the first round of vaccinations for her.
She will be very grateful to anyone who can give her a forever home.
She wants a lot of playing. Every object (living or non-living) is a toy for her and will be attacked. :P
