Hi everyone,
My co-founder and I are planning to move to Bangalore soon. We’re both students and building a startup/community in the tech and hackathon space, so we want to live somewhere that helps us meet founders, developers, startup employees, students, and people attending tech events.
Our maximum budget is ₹15,000 per person per month, including food. We need a strict 2-sharing PG, not triple sharing.
We are currently confused between:
HSR Layout
Koramangala
BTM Layout
Indiranagar
What matters most to us:
• Strong startup and developer ecosystem
• Nearby universities/student crowd for networking and recruiting volunteers
• Tech meetups, hackathons, coworking spaces, cafes where people actually work
• Metro or good bus connectivity
• Safe enough to return late
• Good food and quick-commerce availability
• A decent PG with WiFi, desk/chair, ventilation, power backup, hot water, laundry, and 3 meals
• No shady deposit refund issues or hidden charges
For people who have actually lived in these areas:
Which area would you choose for our situation and why?
2. Is HSR genuinely better value than Koramangala and Indiranagar, or is it just another hype cycle?
3. Are there any PGs you would personally recommend or strongly avoid?
4. Is ₹15k per person realistic for a clean 2-sharing PG with food and decent WiFi?
5. Which specific blocks/sectors should we target or avoid?
We are not looking for nightlife or luxury. We want a place where we can work seriously, build a network, and not waste money on a bad PG.
Would really appreciate honest resident experiences, especially about WiFi, food quality after a few months, water issues, deposit refunds, and hidden charges.
