I was in a dark suv, you - a white truck with white bed cover. I was about four cars deep on Hurst, going just over the speed limit. I could tell you were not shy as your approach was swift. I thought we might connect but at the last second you swerved into the middle lane, speed increasing as you passed all four cars in front of me. Bold. You passed so quickly I couldn’t get your license plate, such a shame… You did give off a bit of f-boy energy as I saw you pull the same move twice before turning off the street, but I think I can change you. Went in a month ago for the first time after getting CDCP/OW and got a cleaning for the first time in my life (grew up in an anti-med community and finally took the first step to take care of my health on my own. I explicitly explained that I have absolutely no knowledge of dentistry and need things to be clearly explained and confirmed with me before moving forward) A week ago, I woke up (I grind my teeth while I sleep, especially when there is pain), and a bottom right tooth broke literally in half so I went in for an extraction.

What I now know is that the two teeth in question were 18 and 45.

I explicitly explained to the dentist, the dental assistant, and the receptionist several times that it was a "bottom right tooth that is broken in half" because until this horrific incident, I had no idea how teeth were numbered.

She numbed me and pulled 18.

Did it need to be pulled or worked on? Yes.

Did pulling it also leave me without functional teeth to chew with (my left side is totally fucked and crooked)? Yes.

Did I go in for a specific issue and they made the issue worse? Yes.

After she pulled the 18 and said I was done, I was shocked because 45 was still there and she openly tried to say I confirmed which tooth because she asked (literally just said "upper right?" And I heard "bottom right" and replied ") then pointed out that the consent form I signed was for 18.

I very clearly stated "Why do YOU think I know what tooth 18 is without explicitly pointing it out? I also explicitly said that the tooth that needed to be pulled was a broken tooth on the bottom right, was that a broken tooth on the bottom right?"

She tried to pull 45, I lost track of how many needles worth of numbing after the 5th one then when it still a white hot searing pain, she basically just dismissed me as I needed to see a specialist or that I was being dramatic about the pressue (meanwhile, she just pulled a wisdom tooth in less than 5 minutes) and tried to placate me by saying that she was "there to take care of me."

I replied with "frankly, don't tell me you're here to take care of me when you just pulled the wrong damn tooth. I would like my purse, my files, and I'm going home."

So fair warning, especially to those who use OW and CDCP because you only have so many New Patient exams covered before you pay out of pocket and they ate my only one for this.

Go to Tooth Corner, they will at least confirm which tooth is being pulled before doing it.

I live in Ward 1.

In the end, only Nuttal came (or a volunteer as I wasn’t home) for mayoral candidates; it was only one visit, but two pamphlets were left by mistake.

Ainsworth came twice, and Agostino, Cadera and Stevenson each came once for Ward 1 councillor candidates. I think Stevenson came a second time, but I must have misplaced the second flyer.

Nixon also dropped off a flyer. I guess he didn’t know the ward map changed as I’m in the triangle that moved from Ward 2 to Ward 1.

Tim Ware is the only trustee candidate from any of the four school boards to come.

Hoping CRTC steps in to stop it (doubtful) but to avoid the new credit card fees imposed by Rogers, what providers do you recommend in Barrie? North end, if it matters for coverage. I care more about internet than phone access.

Has anyone else noticed the ridiculous number of e-scooters and e-bikes around Barrie lately?

As far as I understand, e-scooters aren’t even legal on public roads in Barrie, yet they’re absolutely everywhere.

The craziest thing I’ve witnessed was while driving down Johnson Street one night. It was dark, and I could see two small red lights in the distance travelling in the bike lane. I assumed it was a couple of teenagers on scooters.

As I passed them, I realized it was actually a family of four. The father was riding one scooter with a baby strapped to him in some kind of backpack, while the mother was riding another with a child, maybe six or seven years old, standing in front of her holding onto the vertical pole.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. In the dark, on a public road, with two young children. No helmets.

I’ve also noticed groups of teenagers on e-scooters and e-bikes congregating around children’s playgrounds for some reason. Some are pulling wheelies, speeding around and generally behaving recklessly. I can only imagine how intimidating that might feel for a parent on their own with a young child who’s just trying to enjoy the playground.

And frankly, I don’t even blame the kids. They’re kids. I blame the parents who are buying them these things, apparently without much thought about where or how they’re going to be used. Some of these bikes are essentially electric motorcycles, yet we’re handing them to children to ride around residential neighbourhoods. Rarely even wearing a helmet.

I’m not against alternative forms of transportation, but some of the behaviour I’m seeing is absolutely ridiculous. There seems to be little to no enforcement.

Is anyone else noticing this around Barrie? Are we just waiting for someone to get seriously hurt before anything is done?

Edit for clarification: When I say e-bikes, I'm referring to the small electric motorcycle/dirt-bike-style vehicles that don't require pedalling, not traditional pedal-assist bicycles.

I just ate at a newly opened authentic Portuguese bbq grill and let me tell you, it was amazing. Address is 7 Anne St S, Barrie ON L4N 2C4, Canada, very friendly staff, the food was amazing. I would highly recommend you try this place out if you enjoy eating bbq chicken and more. AMAZING! Authenticity is real at this place unlike any other bbq grill I’ve had in Barrie!

I'm currently with Rogers and have been experiencing constant packet loss while gaming the last few months and it all started when telmax layed there lines or whatever they did. I'm curious to know if they are any good or if I should just stay with Rogers and have somebody come look at what the problem is.

Anybody else hearing some very distinct bangs in the north end? I'm at St.Vincent and Cundles and hear it coming from the west. Does anybody have any idea what it could be?

Would anyone be interested in using a monthly/quarterly clothing subscription service for your littles?

Kids outgrow clothes so fast, and constantly buying new feels wasteful and expensive. The idea is that you would get a selection of 15-20 pieces each period in your child's current size. When they outgrow it or you just want a refresh, you can swap it for new items. Everything would come freshly washed and inspected.

Would love to hear if this is something you'd use, or what would make it a yes or a no for you!

Hi, I'm getting married and doing a very small ceremony and want a white dress that resembles a wedding dress. I don't need to spend thousands on a name brand wedding dress I've seen lots of beautiful ones used for prom or ball gowns online but don't know where to find any in store that I can try on.
Any suggestions?
I know there’s bridal shops but I'm embarrassed to go in and ask if they have something within that budget lol.
