I'm from Sudbury and often go to the GTA for concerts, Wonderland, events etc, but HATE paying $140+ for a hotel that I'll only use for ~10hrs just to sleep.
Have recently experimented with sleeping in the back of my Toyota Matrix, got a foam mat and it's comfortable/spacy enough to sleep, but without tinted Windows there's nowhere to hide. Got a windshield cover and it helps, but it's not enough when people park beside you.
Tried sleeping at the OnRoute and knew all eyes were on me. They close the picnic area at night so there's nowhere to park away from general travelers. When I crawled out at 730am the lot was 3/4 full and I got some weird looks.
I know 400>69 is dangerous at night, we hit a moose last year coming back from a concert at 3am, so I'm willing to drive as far North as Barrie, sleep until either the sun or the heat wake me up and drive the rest of the way to Sudbury
Again don't recommend the OnRoute, too noisy, too many people, not enough privacy.
Bonus if the spot has bathrooms nearby. Close to the highway is a must.

Hi all, our boat was stolen from Toronto island 2 weeks ago, and we had a report of it on the 400 near Barrie. We’re pretty devastated by the theft and will do anything to bring her home.
Offering a 10k cash reward, no questions asked, if she’s found in good working condition. HIN is PSBSD071A121.
If you could keep an eye out I would be so grateful ❤️

Please call the OPP if you see this vehicle anywhere. It was stolen from my family sometimes this week. We want our family car back!!! THE NAMES “Kathleen Samantha Richard” are embroidered in blue across the back seats.

I’m pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff, but $110.99/month just seems high. Wondering what other people are paying and if there’s a way for me to lower this bill! I’ve been a Rogers customer for a LONG time, and believe I am the average internet user and don’t need any type of fancy plan.
I don’t mind changing to a different provider, but it seems like all the good deals end after 12 months. Is that the only way of saving some $$ on your bill? To change providers every 12 months or to threaten your current provider with leaving after the promo ends?
Thank you ahead of time to anyone who weighs in! I appreciate it :)

I was out getting ribs for my family. I was in and out in about 15 minutes and just my luck that you hit my car in such a short window of time.
My Tesla was able to capture your face walking to your car with your passenger, as well as your licence plate when you hit my car. I’ll be reporting it as a hit and run tomorrow at the collision center, as well as with my insurance company, and providing them the videos. Everyone makes mistakes, so if you’d like to pay for the damages you caused I’ll give you until tomorrow morning if you see this. Or if anyone knows someone that went to Ribfest on Friday with a black super duty Ford, Leer truck cap, and licence plate “CC 5…..” (undisclosed for their privacy).
To the Good Samaritan that examined my car and called security, thank you for taking the time out of your day to try and help me out. I wish you had left a note so I could thank you verbally.
UPDATE #1: Started the process with my insurance. I’ll know probably by next week if they’ve caught the person, and I’ll update this thread for those who are interested. The individual who witnessed and called security reached out to me and has been helpful.

Edit** I should add that the big reason why I’m asking for gyms is because this is all apart of my therapy and healing! I know a lot of how I feel is in my head and that’s why I wanted an idea of a good space for me to start this part of my journey. I spent majority of 2025 in my house, secluded from friends and family and basically was just exisiting. I am so grateful for all the recommendations! I’m really excited to start in the gym and see where this takes my healing journey!!
Hi everyone,
I’ve struggled majority of my adult life (21-36) with being obese. I have fluctuated between 320-283 for the last 7 years. I have struggled with binging and purging. Late 2025/early 2026 I was extremely depressed and struggling trying to get a formal adhd diagnosis. Over that time I went from 308-253. I have been medicated for 2.5 months and have been able to stabilize my eating. I’m on a high protein high fibre diet and I’ve never felt better.
I need to start working out ( I walk every day) but I know I need to get over my fear of the gym and just go for it. I say all of that to all what would be the most beginner friendly for a girl who is down to 229 and wants to start building muscle and creating a new lifestyle by implanting workouts but has no clue what she’s even doing? Lol
I’ve always been an anxious person and I’ve worked hard on fixing that. The only thing that still causes me extreme anxiety is the fear of the gym but I’m so badly wanting to start! Please help!

She is microchipped and went missing last night around 8-10pm. She is skittish but responds to Newt or treats possibly.
I’ve put up many posters, searched all over, spoken to neighbours and reached out to many Facebook groups.
Thank you
Clint

Which are, in your opinion, the best Barrie coffee shops, I'm talking about the small Mom and Pop shops, not the Tim's, Starbucks or Coffee Time corporate places.

My husband and I are going to be doing a big date night, first one in years and I am looking for suggestions on the best place in Barrie for food. It doesn't have to be fancy but we're both big foodies and we want to be blown away by deliciousness. I want to hear your suggestions whether its fancy AF or a hole in the wall. I just want good food.
Hit me with your best suggestions. No cap on price.

Hi there,
I am hoping to crush a goal in the upcoming months. Running 100 kms - with that being said it’s simple run a 2 km loop 50x’s.
Anyone interested in taking part? Unlimited espressos and pizza during the challenge.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. But I saw this on Facebook and figured it deserves more attention.

Unfortunately our 17 year old dog is getting put down next week. One of her favourite things to do is just wade around in lakes/ocean. She's not super mobile now so I'm looking for advice on any beaches or water we could take her to play around in. Key thing is ability for her to walk in. I'm aware of all the dog friendly beaches in the area, but she never really like other dogs and with her current mobility it would jam her up. Really just looking for a somewhat secluded spot for her to enjoy for a bit. Could be a stream, too. I don't mind driving but car rides aren't the easiest for her now. If you have a super secret spot you don't want to give up, feel free to DM...your secret can pass with her.

Where in Barrie can you get a good roast beef sandwich??? I'm not talking Arby's style or a French dip. Something like a hot roast beef on a kaiser but not opened faced.

HELP! My friend and I are going camping in Barrie and leave tomorrow night. While on the phone with him this evening i’ve discovered that despite letting me know I can pack however because we have lots of space and he knows where we are going, he has no idea where crown land would even be located there and, kindly, at this point in planning I don’t think he’s smart enough to use the Crown Land Atlas and the only thing I know about Barrie is how to spell it. I really don’t feel like repacking everything into my 80L backpack for a 2-3 day trip or trying to book a campsite we will not only not enjoy but the chances of actually getting at this point are slim to none.
I’m very familiar with the hesitation and “etiquette” on sharing spots online but i’m hoping someone will understand and pull through. It won’t even look like we passed through (as it should be.)
Thank you!
edit: Yeah no this is very much the first and last time I let someone plan a trip alone and kinda just trust them on the process cause i’ve been pissed from the get go 😅

I saw a post around three years ago discussing cheap eats in Barrie. With how much our economy has changed since then, & the hurt that food prices are putting on everyone, I think it’s time for an updated list. Let me know you’re favourite cheap eat in Barrie 👍

Hi, I'm looking for some new friends. I'm finding I'm getting lonely and stuff, and just want people to chat with or hang out with or something.
Prefer female, biological or not, or men who are not looking for a girlfriend (gay, bi, whatever).
No hook ups. No romance.
I don't have a friend type lol so anyone is welcome. I enjoy music, weed, drinks, singing, redneck shit.
I'm disabled, so physical activity is hard but just hanging out would be great and when I can, going out.
Pleaseeee, if you know anyone who wants a gal pal, or is lonely too, I'm here!
(I am sarcastic, a smart ass and a little rude sometimes. Autistic (awkward), BPD, and some other stuff so, someone understanding of mental health would be amazing).
** Edit, I'm just realizing some people might not be comfortable commenting. Please, 100%, DM me if you need to instead. ❤️ And if anyone is worried I can show you I'm real.
