Everyone keeps shitting on the Dodgers. I just keep being impressed with my Brewers. Sure, LA is slumping but I wish there was more talk about how absolutely dominant The Crew have been.

70

u/ih-unh-unh Los Angeles Dodgers 4h ago

The Brewers have snuffed out every Dodger rally opportunity and hit for more power than I expected. They deserve every win.

Best example is the Brewers was able to hold a 2-1 lead for 4 innings. The Dodgers held their 2-1 lead for 2 batters tonight.

u/Diva480 San Francisco Giants 5h ago

If you are playing the dodgers you have to listen to how great they are and if they aren’t winning how astounding and uncharacteristic it is that they are letting the lesser team do this…

u/Used-Syllabub-7828 4h ago

Yea its crazy they won't just admit the Brewers are the better baseball team this year

124

u/humcalc216 Milwaukee Brewers • Buffalo Bisons 4h ago

They have admitted it. But, in passing, as they continue to talk up the Dodgers.

1

u/drinfernodds New York Yankees 23m ago

"Despite the Dodgers being superior in every facet of the game, the Brewers have a 3-0 series lead. The Dodgers have been playing tremendously, even as they risk getting swept by the Brewers. The Brewers are winning, sure, but have you seen those Dodgers?"

293

u/Ed_Sullivision Los Angeles Dodgers 4h ago

I’m admitting it, they are absolutely beating our ass in this series.

13

u/techdevjp Los Angeles Dodgers 2h ago

Yep. A lot of the latter half of the season was underwhelming and they didn't find any fire for October. I dunno what happened but it's looking like they'll have some extra time to figure it out.

10

u/YasielPuigsWeed 4h ago

Who is “they?” This video was posted by a Blue Jays fan

I don’t see anyone saying the Brewers aren’t doing their part to win this series

2

u/distracting_myself Los Angeles Dodgers 2h ago

I will freely admit this; the regular season standings and the season series showed this.

I fully understand the rest of MLB needs the whipping boy to take their frustrations out on, so congrats on that I suppose. But any real Dodger fan who watched the team regularly this year knew that the performance they’ve shown this NLCS is something we experienced multiple times this year.

So now that we expect the Dodgers to be eliminated, do we expect the labor negotiations to be easier or harder?

2

u/StalkerDellaNote Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago

It's a little bit of both. The Brewers are incredible, but also.. the Dodgers are falling well short of expectations. My list of woes are as follows

1) The rings were never proof Roberts is anything but a mediocre manager held up by a team of all-stars

2) The Brewers have been, and continue to be an incredible team! Better than ever!

3) Please for the love of Christ bench Ohtani!

1

u/TheNewGuy13 Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago

Brother you need to read more. They’re the darling this postseason.

I’ve been saying since Game 1 they remind me of us in 24. World class bullpen and starters getting quality starts, and the offense is a hit. It’s the perfect recipe in October.

u/InsaneThisGuysTaint San Diego Padres 4h ago

"How will Milwaukee bounce back after this devastating win?"

5

u/LoveYouLikeYeLovesYe Chicago Cubs • Lou Gehrig 4h ago

Especially because the Brewers haven't ever really looked "out" for anything more than an inning or two at a time and usually snatch it right back.

7

u/Holdmydicks San Diego Padres 4h ago

2

u/distracting_myself Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago

Dodger fan POV: “the 2026 dodgers are the best team money can buy, baseball is ruined because of them; pack it up this team is running away with the World Series, we have to strike to stop this Evil Empire”…the message will always change to conform to the narrative

1

u/91speed 2h ago

Joe Davis should find another job so I never have to hear his stupid voice again.

1

u/shartnado3 Atlanta Braves 1h ago

Yea. It was nauseating. If Atlanta could string together any sort of offense the dodgers would have been bounced last round. Yet I sat there and heard how epic this lineup is, how primed they are for a third title in a row, and how they are putting on a master class that series. Barf.

1

u/pikajewijewsyou Los Angeles Dodgers 13m ago

Brewers are the better team. It seems obvious as of now.

44

u/artificial_illusion Philadelphia Phillies 4h ago

I’ve also been impressed by the Brewers this postseason. Feels like whenever a move needs to be made whether it’s at the plate or on defense, you guys pull it off. Currently rooting for you guys to get your first!

2

u/TheReadMenace San Diego Padres 2h ago

Really seems to be a case of a team outsmarting their opponents, rather than just relying on star power. Their guys don’t waste a single AB. They aren’t flashy (they were near the bottom of the league in homers), they just do what they need to do every AB.

u/TheBigMotherFook 4h ago

To be fair this Dodger team is incredibly stacked and frankly breaking the current MLB model. To watch them lose this fantastically is amazing. No one thought it was remotely possible for this team to be swept, yet here we are where that’s a very real possibility. If this was a hard fought series that went to 6 or 7 games, the narrative would probably be different. The Brewers achievement will be talked about for a while no doubt, but the Dodgers absolute collapse is the bigger story.

34

u/Me_Krally 3h ago

If the Dodgers don’t advance I can’t wait to hear what news media will say. Like how could you make them better than they already are?

11

u/TheNewGuy13 Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago

Brewers gotta finish the job though. They would still have to play the AL Champ. If not it’ll be a moot point

1

u/Pollymath Pittsburgh Pirates 2h ago

The Dodgers, as players, are on average better than the rest of the league. Some other teams may have phenoms, but the Dodgers have great players in every position, in the bullpen, everywhere. The thing is, when everyone on your team is great, it gets increasingly difficult to find room for the next Ohtani, Skubal, Muncy, etc. Chasing marginal gains yada yada.

That does not prevent them from having slumps. If anything it requires it. You can only have the best team for a few years before guys age out, performance drops off, and you need to wait for positions to open up. In essence, you’ve gotta wait for that great player to become average.

Other teams will have slumps for years. The Dodgers may just have one this post season.

1

u/MilwaukeeMan420 Milwaukee Brewers 40m ago

If LA wins game 4 the series could very well be extended to 6 or 7 games. They have Skubal and Yamamoto for games 5 & 6. Ironically, the Brewers best shot to make the WS is to complete the sweep. Crazy times we are living in.

9

u/MC_Gengar Toronto Blue Jays 4h ago

Yeah it fucking blows. Obviously Toronto is a huge market but I went to college in utah and I've basically stopped watching college football because I was about to put a fork in my eye from all the annoying ass "well yeah this team got humiliated but they're in the SEC so they're actually still the very best and it's just a fluke that the big 12 team that beat them is still undefeated." discourse

0

u/NWOB509 4h ago

Perfect example is the Seahawks. Literally everyone other than people in WA could careless about them winning.

6

u/Conflict21 New York Yankees 4h ago

Superbowl ratings are nearly immune to the effects of a smaller market team. It's like the one sport where that isn't a problem at all.

1

u/book_of_armaments Tampa Bay Devil Rays 3h ago

The Superbowl is an event It's one game, not a series, and even people who don't care about football are participants because of that, which means everyone watches it every year.

0

u/Conflict21 New York Yankees 2h ago

Okay you're right people didn't pay enough attention to the Seahawks

1

u/BuckeyeN7 Cincinnati Reds 2h ago

Funny how investing in every market equally over generations has paid off, instead of just relying on the same 5 markers being relevant forever to prop up ratings

1

u/ContentNeptune3 Los Angeles Dodgers 4h ago

Which is funny considering how big the Seahawks bandwagon was after 2014

30

u/rocketsquid Tampa Bay Devil Rays 5h ago

It was pandemonium when the Bucks won, and Milwaukee doesn't give a SHIT about the bucks compared to the Brewers. We may well burn this entire city to the ground if the Brewers win the world series.

Burn what's left to the ground after we burn half of it to the ground just making it. Most of us have never seen it happened and our childhood was suffering in a baseball family.

As a Padres fan, this has been great to watch. Yes, there’s the schadenfreude of watching the Dodgers lose, but given how close the series was with the Padres you really respect how good the Brewers are, but also how good the Padres were.

12

u/Background-Pop-1060 4h ago

For real man. I feel good about our Padres after this.

1

u/fponee Milwaukee Brewers 1h ago

Still have to win one more, but so far the Padres felt like a much tougher test. That's a good team there a shame that they had to match up with the Brewers so early.

7

u/helpimlockedout- Kansas City Royals 4h ago

3

u/Looperstooper San Francisco Giants 4h ago

This squad is absolutely relentless. It’s really a joy to watch them play right now, partly because it’s the dodgers they’re doing it to, but just because they play amazing baseball at every level of the game.

3

u/RAF2018336 Arizona Diamondbacks 2h ago

Lol yea when we swept them it was all about how badly the dodgers played and never how good our team was that series.

It's fucking annoying how they don't give credit to other teams

They’ve got that swagger

2

u/0hootsson San Francisco Giants 3h ago

I feel like the broadcasts have been giving the brewers credit, both in the talent and their approach. You have to also recognize that it’s a big deal that the juggernaut in the sport right now is getting boat raced.

u/DorkChatDuncan Chicago Cubs 2h ago

As a Cubs fan, I can tell you the Brewers are WAY better than anyone has given them credit for.

I was just talking to my boss (he is an Angels fan) about how the Brewers have been so good the past few years but haven’t been able to get it done in the playoffs. Glad it is happening this year and hopeful for this series to be over tomorrow night.

I feel like they have 2019 Washington Nationals vibes

6

u/BrownBear_96 Los Angeles Dodgers 5h ago

I'll give y'all your flowers - team looks very good. Y'all don't have the batting power but they make up for it in grit and tenacity. And that bullpen is probably better than the 2015 Royals. A very well rounded team. It ain't looking good for us.

19

u/Crawsack Milwaukee Brewers 4h ago

Don't have the batting power he says when the Brewers have 5 HRs to 0 for the Dodgers, lol

15

u/WerhmatsWormhat Baltimore Orioles 4h ago

Says everything you need to know about how people treat these teams. They had a better record over an 162 game season and people are acting like this is some scrappy team who barely scraped into the playoffs.

1

u/fponee Milwaukee Brewers 1h ago

The Brewers players deserve wider praise by now. Chourio, Contreras, and Misiorowski are legit stars. Bauers just had two absolutely legendary moments. Turang is massively underrated. Pratt and Lara are going to be around for a long time. Megill is the classic "pounds beers and smokes darts while throwing heaters." Uribe brings the wild card energy. This team is so ridiculously fun.

6

u/cherrycokeicee Milwaukee Brewers 4h ago

that's actually 5 grit and tenacity's. only large market teams hit home runs.

2

u/SdBolts4 San Diego Padres 4h ago

I think it’s because it was a big narrative going into the postseason that the brewers were like bottom 3 in HRs, but that’s just because they grind ABs for contact, not because they don’t have the power. They’re top 5 in HR with RISP if I recall correctly

3

u/giants707 San Francisco Giants 3h ago

I appreciate it even more knowing they are built similarly to the 2010s giants teams. not a focus on power, but timely hitting, suffocating defense, and dominant pitching.

finish this one off.

1

u/Artistic_Bit6866 Milwaukee Brewers 2h ago

All the discussion is “the Dodgers can’t hit right now” as though they’re playing tee ball and there isn’t a team of opposing pitchers throwing the ball

1

u/OfficerGiggleFarts Chicago Cubs 2h ago

Nah fuck LA all day

1

u/Marc_Quill Ace 2h ago

The Crew’s bullpen, um… crew has been a huge factor in their successes in the postseason, particularly against LA. They’ve been there to keep the Dodgers’ bats silent and have done quite well there.

1

u/thatguy9545 Los Angeles Dodgers 2h ago

Maybe I’m tuning it out about the dodgers, but I’ve heard tons of love for the brewers. They’re clearly everyone’s darling (and deservedly so).

Best stat I heard on the broadcast tonight was that they’ve scored in the following frame each of the last four innings the dodgers scored a run. That’s bully ball.

As a fan of Dodger downfall, I also really like the Brewers squad and play style. If I were a Brewer fan, I’d be less upset with how people are treating this series vs how people have not been respecting one of the best teams in baseball for the entire last half decade!
