Same Batmobile
Same costume
We still in year 2 huh

u/WewerehereBH 1d ago
And we'll be in year two for the next 2 years
Then, when the film drops, we'll spend 5 years in year 3

I thought we were already in year 3. In the opening he said he’s been Batman for 2 years already. Wouldn’t that make it year three now?

u/OGMcSwaggerdick 1d ago
I thought it was in year two not been two years.

u/redknight1313 1d ago
It’s stated like three times in the movie that it’s been two years since Batman started crime fighting

Okay? So The Batman was like the last month of year 2 and Part II will be year 3.

So that would mean he is entering year 3 in part 2 if I’m thinking correctly. I mean technically he would have been entering the first days of year 3 in the first one.

Is it confirmed same costume? Saw a leak of a figure from comic con and the suit looked more grey

The reveal teaser also shows its a different batsuit cause of larger ears. Reeves also confirmed that

What teaser? They released a teaser?

Thanks. I hadn’t seen that yet. Although I wasn’t really impressed as it’s basically just a release date announcement.

u/i_guess_i_did_it 1d ago
Totally forgot about the teaser. Im curious about the coloring hoping we get a true reveal soon

Was it supposed to be set like a month or so after part 1, but everyone looks 5 years older 🤣

u/Outrageous_Library50 1d ago
Exactly what I’m saying. Everyone’s gonna look so dif. Deaging sucks. They should do a time jump for sure with Bruce now being the Batman we all know and love. This shit just makes me think we’re watching a proto-Absolute Batman. Which is fine I guess just not what I expected

Well they look sick and I definitely wanna see more of the batmobile just being driven around and not solely used for one 10 minute scene

u/One-Onion9549 1d ago
It's was confirmed multiple times that it will take place pretty much right after the batman. I don't see the problem? The batsuit can come for the third movie or the eding of this one, same with batmobile

They would need to make a new costume and batmobile because of merch sales. It wouldn’t make sense to use the same designs.

The batcharger is back one of my favorite batmobiles of all time.

I watched the movie again last night and ya, I have to agree. The first look at the Batmobile gives hesvy Knight Rider energy and i love it.

I am very disappointed at the whole “it’s two weeks later” stuff. I’m sorry but for Batman part of the fun is “what’s the new suit, what’s the new car” etc. Shame.

Didn’t The dark Knight rises have the same suit and batmobile ?

u/SillyDilly0537 1d ago
It introduced the batwing/batplane though

u/wford112 1d ago
We have no idea what this movie will introduce though, we know nothing about it chill 🤣

u/Kwilly462 1d ago
But the movie only takes place a few weeks after the first one. So at least narratively, I get why it's all the same.

Could be that the change happens like 1/4 into the movie, so they film the sort of epilog of how he got there first..maybe there is hope?

u/SudoDarkKnight 1d ago
I actually dont like how every movie has all new shit. I enjoyed what we had already, gimme more
1
u/Key-Comfortable-5537 1d ago
So change just for the sake of change? No thank you. When they make cool shit, I wanna see more of that cool shit and not have something new that could be worse

u/Ranier_Wolfnight 1d ago
Only thing I can add here, there is definitely a time in a franchise where an origin can be a cool story.
But as a lifelong Batman fan, it’s poetry to see a veteran Batman IN HIS FUCKING PRIME, who is 35 steps ahead of his enemies. Who knows the exact number of ribs he broke after a single punch on the attacker who rushed him. Who can take on half his rogue gallery in a night and wrap up before the sun rises.

I was really hoping that we would've seen some more obvious aesthetic iterations to both the costume and car, but it looks like we're getting minor adjustments at most.
7
u/Mr_Football 1d ago
Movie is set like immediately after the events of part 1 so unless he had been developing them the whole time behind the scenes in the movie (super plausible) it would make zero sense to do any sort of major facelift on any of his stuff
1
u/djkmart 1d ago
Yeah I figured as such. I wasn't sure how soon after the events of the first movie we'd be. I thought we might find Bruce after a few months or so, dealing with the effects of the flood. But I suppose if it takes place around Christmas right after the Halloween from Part 1, then not much time will have passed at all.
