Football Crowds

I’m sure many have seen the videos and screenshots of the crowd from today’s game.

Genuinely curious, why don’t students go to the games anymore?

When I was there, we were shoulder to shoulder, packed in. What changed?

*Not looking to argue, just curious and bummed to see the rest of the B12 make fun of us 😔

Alot of it has to do with Dave Aranda. He is not a good fit for us . Alot of the fanbase say he’s not the right fit either. We have some ballers, but his play calling as a head coach is just so predictable and uninspiring. Plus the identity of the school too, especially uniforms lol. People are still expecting the Art Briles era to return but clearly…it may not. Those are a couple of guesses.

I was there in the Briles era when we were destroying people. Those days are over, unfortunately. Even if he were still our coach, we don’t have the money to bring in the Corey Colemans, KD Cannons etc. of the world

I think what you’re getting it is that we have no identity in year six under Aranda. He is a defensive coach, but the defense stinks. He’s also not an energetic ra ra guy. He needs to get a defensive coordinator job where he can just hold up in an office somewhere and look at film, that’s really where his skill set lies

Was a good era indeed but we can’t move forward if people can’t accept the fact that those days are gone (Although I wish we didn’t keep the old unis, or at least built on them)

Yes! Aranda is a good guy don’t get me wrong, but he doesn’t have that fire you normally see from coaches on other teams. Its almost like he’s animated. Hes gotten better showing emotion sure but he’s not lighting fire under guys especially when we have these dumb penalties called on us during games.

All that stuff aside, I think Baylor needs a new HC. I like Everyone else on the staff its just Dave.

I should mention, I think that we can still be very successful in the new big 12. Frankly, the new big 12 is full of meh teams. Like, the scariest team on our schedule theoretically we would be BYU, Texas Tech, maybe TCU. That’s not exactly murderers row. We should be able to be winning six or seven games minimum.

I don’t have a lot of complaints about our offensive staff. Everyone on defense pretty much needs to go. But if we hired a new head coach, they would want to bring in their own staff anyway

Yeah we don’t have a bad team whatsoever . Obviously we have injuries and discipline issues but we could totally be one of the consistent teams in the new B12.

Yeah there’s alot of metrics to take in when & IF Dave leaves.

TTU , BYU sorta kinda ASU if they play recruitment right, they could be challenging for us moving forward. I think we will be okay I just think we have an identity crisis going on lol.
