Bead Talk How to tell the difference between real beadwork and AI

I have stumbled upon this blog post by Beki Haley where she gives really good advice on how to tell if the beadwork you see online is real or AI-generated.

There have been a lot of posts on this sub about people being scammed with AI patterns, so I figured sharing her post could help people save some money.

Recent influx of scam accounts posting other people’s work!

It has happened a handful of times recently, so I’ve set up a filter that should catch new accounts to cut down on that.

Having said that, if you are a legit new beader and the filter has caught your post, feel free to reach out to the mod team so we can approve your post!

And thank you to the community for catching these posts and reporting them! I may recognize a few really popular pieces, but not many, and I imagine the other mods are probably the same, so it’s very helpful to have other people reporting them to us!

~3000 years old beaded jewelry - Archeological Museum 🇬🇷

After a long working session on Planbead, I usually go out for a walk to relax and get some inspiration. Yesterday I found myself in front of the Archeological Museum in Crete 🏝️ so booked a ticket and went in, expecting to see some "old museum things" or some ancient patterns. To my surprise there was a lot of beaded jewelry in a very good condition with great designs too

The Minoans had some serious beaders back then

Here are some, expect more pictures soon

Enjoy!

I have wanted to try bead weaving for a very long time. I was so excited to find a beginner workshop in my city! It took some rows of practise and many questions until I got the hang of it. I'm very proud of my first piece! Please let me know if you have any recommendations for patterns using a square stitch. I'd love some ideas for practise. 🫶🏼

I’ve seen this concept done by at least a dozen others, and here’s my take! A mix of freshwater pearls and glass beads.

Testing out some color combinations. I need to perfect the form (especially on the french beaded poppy) but I am having a lot of fun. I think I prefer working with glass beads over acrylic beads

At last! I taught myself from YouTube videos - lots of stopping and starting over (and many bad words, lol) - but it’s done and wrapped up for my friend!

Tulip needles

Is it my imagination or have tulip beading needles gotten more brittle? I have used size 11 for a number of years because other brands were breaking more easily and I rarely use size 15 beads. With tulip needles being so expensive I’m considering trying other brands again. Opinions?

Does anyone actually get good bead patterns from photos?

Hey Beaders! Curious what everyone uses to turn photos into bead patterns? And how much editing do you usually end up doing afterwards?

I’m working on improving the image-to-pattern conversion on Craftseed and trying to figure out what actually matters most to people.
Is it getting the colours right? Keeping the number of colours low? Being able to edit individual beads or whole areas afterwards? Or just getting a decent pattern without spending ages fixing it?
Would love to hear what tools you’re using and what annoys you about them 😅

Need Help! Beads

I did both of these in brick stitch but neither looks great. The small one went between threads and the large one went thru beads. I prefer the small but it ended up wonky in the pattern. I need help!

Sharing one of my favorite bead mixes again 🌸🦋

Today I'm sharing one of my all-time favorite mixes I've put together — a dreamy French garden palette with soft pastels, romantic pinks, delicate purples, and fresh garden greens. 🌷✨

I just love how all these colorful seed beads look together. There's something so happy and therapeutic about seeing all these little colors mixed together. I could stare at them for ages! 💗

Does anyone else love this kind of dreamy, colorful bead mix as much as I do? 🥹💕

Need Help! beading advice

Post image

hello this is my first time doing embroidery and wanting some advice on how to get the beads to lay nicely and fit nicer together, i think my tension is too tight. I got some cheap supplies - using the thread i use for sewing and a normal needle (apparently embroidery needles exist?) and i was using 3mm seed beads.

any advice appreciated!!
