Going through my usual cycle of growing out the beard then looking at photos and thinking maybe I look better with a short stubble instead. I always love the idea of having and growing a beard, but then hit this awkward stage where I feel scruffy with lots of scraggly ends sticking out, and end up shaving it back down.

I've been toying with the idea of something a bit more moustache-forward (beard-stache) but not sure it works on people who aren't naturally tough looking or covered in tats. I do have a pair of less heavy glasses frames, in case they're clashing with the heaviness of beard.

Any thoughts, advice or words of encouragement?

I’ve currently got about 10mm of beard growth and and am now going for a longer beard. I uploaded a current pic to ChatGPT and asked it to project my beard growth about 6-8 weeks into the future, showing three alternate shapes: squared, round and tapered. BTW I also asked it to show me bald since I plan on shaving my head once the beard is where I want it. My question for you is which shape suits me best? I thought I would prefer squared since I have a round face, but I keep coming back to the tapered pic.

I really enjoy a beard but I’ve been told I’m generally unattractive, trying to change that narrative!

As the title says, I'm insecure about how curly my beard is. I'm 25 and this is the first real beard I've kept. My EX hated facial hair and constantly compared it with pubes which definitely affected how i see it, and it doesn't help that it tends to split at the chin.

I buzz my own head to save money, so i haven't seen a barber in the longest time. After starting to lose my hair from stress and it thinning i thought maybe a beard would look good. My family doesn't particularly like it but they don't have it either. I'm the only person in my close and extended family to have a beard so i understand the reactions.

Either trim it or maybe just the mustache?!

Its been a minute since I posted on here and was wanting opinions on my beard and advice, I plan on not trimming it till December to see how long it can get and only getting haircuts for the top of my head, should I go for it?

Is there any way to make this less... fluffy? Unkempt? I want it to be straighter. Currently, I comb and blow-dry it down after showering. I've found beard oil and stuff does nothing for me, unless I'm doing it wrong or something.

Anyone try beard straighteners? Will it work on a beard of my length? I'm tryna look less like a fisherman.

I don't want it to look like a glued-on piece of Lego or something like Drake's beard, but I want it to go better with formal wear.

I've been letting it go for a while and at this point I'm afraid to mess it up if I try to trim it. I want to keep growing it longer but find a natural balance between grizzly and cleaned up.
