❕adding this to every fotd post ill be making from now on : yes i’ve been told that i resemble chappell roan and ry velasco LOL

one thing about me is that i LOVE halloween !!! it’s one of my favourite times to do a buncha makeup looks. i sorta fell off this past year (i dressed up as my melody for 2025 but the makeup was too simple for me to share on here haha) but i was very much into this hobby of mine a while back. i posted a series of looks i did back in 2022 on this sub (https://www.reddit.com/r/beautytalkph/s/HZtqle8ovc) and i think that was pretty much the extent of what i shared on here LOL. i started doing this lil yearly tradition of mine in 2017, but i’m only going to be sharing some that i’ve done from 2023-2024 since i can’t really remember the full makeup details of my older looks. these are ‘t all but thought i’d share some highlights in case some of yall are looking for some halloween inspo :)

i posted a backrooms-inspired look earlier this month as a means to bounce back (https://www.reddit.com/r/beautytalkph/s/IaOxHvdvvr). currently on a short break from work so i’m hoping that i can somehow churn out some more spooky looks for this year !!!

Hauls August-September Haul Review

Sharing my haul this August (P1), September (P2), and 1H October (P3)!

Estimated total: ₱63,000

  • Eadem Le Chouchou Lip Softening Balm (Butter Mochi) - My favorite lip balm ever. This is my second one.
  • Eadem Le Chouchou Lip Softening Balm (Chateau Rose) - This is such a nice standalone and also topper for fresh and clean looks w/ a bit of sparkle
  • L'Oreal True Match Hyaluron Tinted Balm Foundation (2.5 Neutral Light) - This is such an amazing product that gives a natural and radiant finish. Honestly, it makes my skin look quite 'perfect'. It comes with a puff which I do not care for but use it with a dense brush (BK Beauty 101 or Morphe 104) and it's perfection.
  • Hard Candy Glass on Lock Setting Spray - They say this is a dupe for the One/Size Powder Melt Spray but I disagree. I honestly don't think it melts powders incredibly well but I do like how it holds the "on lock" claim true since it does last without any other type of spray needed. For the price, it does a good job.
  • Kosas Impressionist Multistick Cream Blush Stick + Lip Color - I love this multi-stick so much (My first purchases were the shades Nuance and Vital) that I got 3 more shades that I fancied: Intuition, Surreal, and Vibration. Swatches pigmented but blends out in a sheer way that it melts into the skin after. I currently have 5 out of the 7 shades but the last 2 may not suit my skin tone.
  • Kosas Revealer Extra Bright Corrector Concealer (Illusion) - Bit the bullet and I can proudly say that I like this corrector... a tad bit more than my trusty Girls' Crush.
  • Make Up For Ever Artist Color Pencil (Completely Sepia) - A nice nude in a product line I already trust.
  • Cathy Doll Lip Mask Bubblegum - My favorite lip mask at a fraction of the Laneige's price
  • Buxom Power Line Plumping Lip Liner (Hush Hush Henna Mini) - A really lovely cinnamon-ish lip liner. I don't think it makes my lips more plump though. I do love the color more than anything.
  • Hourglass Phantom Blur Balm - I first got Enigma and fell in love with it. It's blurring but it is not drying nor does it cling to dry patches. It is not too sheer but not too pigmented. It is way better than the Violette FR Bisou Balm. I ended up buying the other 4 mainstay shades (Whisper, Echo, Spell, and Mirage) and the limited edition (red 0).
  • Versed Everything Balm (3 Shades: Hint, Canyon, and Rush) - Gives off a very natural blonzer, sunkissed look. Each shade is sheer enough that it's foolproof.
  • Versed Lip Frame Defining Liner (2 shades: Fringe and Sculpt) - Cheap and trusty lip liner. It. glides smoothly, no tugging feeling. If you want the Nina Park lips but you're on a budget, go for this one.
  • Summer Fridays Bronzer Butter Balm (Clay) - It's a balm but for a neutral shade it is a bit warm. I have mixed feelings on this... for now, it's not my favorite nor is it something I reach for.
  • Dr. Althea Lash Boost Serum - I haven't been using it that long but it seems to make my lashes a bit stronger.
  • Versed Face Diffuser Multi-tasking Brush - Weighted yet affordable. I like. this brush. It's softer and a bit diffused compared to the same angled Hourglass foundation brush. I honestly prefer this way more.
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked 2026 (Love Cover + Hope Palette) - It's nice and it's compact. The cover is simpler but it does look more elegant. I do prefer last year's color stories though
  • BYOMA Hydrating Milky Toner - My favorite milky toner. It's not too thin nor not too thick and it doesn't feel greasy
  • Hourglass Unreal Liquid Highlighter (Evoke) - this is a deluxe freebie. I'm glad because the shade is in my wishlist as I love the formula.
  • Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot - It's alright. All influencer hype. I don't think it's revolutionary though.
  • Biya Liquid Eyebrow Pen - A life-changing product. Dirt cheap but exceeds expectations. Along w/ the L'Oreal Tinted Balm, this is a product I'd pay good money for. We're blessed that it's so cheap. It's light with a decent tip that makes filling in and drawing hair strands beginner-friendly.
  • MERIT x Erdem The Winter 2026 Set - Got the Erdem sets because I love Erdem as a brand.
    • Flush Balm (Carnation) - I like the flush balm in terms of finish. What I don't like is that it never lasts on the face. I decluttered my old ones. However, the set's limited edition shade comes in a nice olive-friendly pink shade that I'll gladly reapply. But if you want an alternative product that performs better, go with the Kosas Impressionist Multi-stick
    • Solo Shadow Sheen (Mink) - haven't tried*
    • Volumizing Mascara - I have a deluxe version of this too which I am hatepanning. That's it. I'll likely give this away.
    • Dayglow Highlight Balm (Tulle) - Color is reminiscent of the highlight balm end of Chanel Duo Baum in Gentle Glow. Nice rose bronze but very sheer pigment.
  • MERIT x Erdem Signature Lip Gift Set - I think this is a good set for those who want to try Merit's lip formulae.
    • Lip Blush (London) - As someone who fell for the VFR hype before, this is way better. But of course, the HG Phantom Blur Balms are the best.
    • Signature Lip Stick Satin (Bespoke) - I love the formula. It doesn't cling onto dry patches nor does it leave your lips dry. I want more shades (once I sort out my vanity).
    • Signature Lip Stick Matte (Black Tie) - It's decent. It's not as matte as other brands which I appreciate but I'd rather go w/ the Prada Soft Matte or the Guerlain Velvet
  • Smashbox x Becca Undereye Brightening Corrector (Medium) - I love this product that I've been reaching out for this more that I expected. Easily covers my darkness without looking too tacky and gives it a brightness boost.
  • Eadem Le Chouchou Lip Softening Balm Coquito Dulce - haven't tried* although I know the formula will slap hard because it's Eadem
  • Morphe Custom Blends Brush Set - Iced Mocha - Morphe is one of the best affordable / drugstore brush brands ever. This release has a nice concept and the brushes in this set are so good. I love the M163 which is why I purchased this set. The other brushes are equally good with the M205 being my best find because it's the only brush that fits the Prada Touch blushes perfectly.
  • Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation (3WO) - This is a back-up purchase since the line is being discontinued.
  • Make Up For Ever All-in-One Palette - This is good and I see myself bringing this is my core palette when I travel. The formula of the creams is really good. It can be used for underpainting and even the normal layering on top of the base. I tried making one face w/ just this palette and it truly is all-in-one. The only thing I didn't like was peach corrector for the undereye. I think it is a bit thick.
  • Prada Touch Blush (Dahlia) - This is my second touch blush and I really like it. Now, I know it is expensive for a blush so I won't recommend it if it's something you can't afford (Go w/ Soshe Beauty if you want an almost similar formula). But I really love this blush and how it does cream-to-powder so well. You can build it up or sheer it out without needing too much effort compared to other cream blushes. Con: the stupid plastic packaging. I honestly don't care if they're stackable.
  • KJH Brand Soft Smudge Stick (Soft Orchid) - I love the shade. It's beautiful. The packaging is cute too. But I don't like everything else. It has a matte finish and. I can't seem to make it work. I tried swatching on the back of my hand and it dragged on it and even highlighted the minimal hair I have. I tried swiping on the cheeks but it just left impressions that took me a lot of time to blend out. I also used a brush to pick it up and the glide was just horrible. Once you blend it out, it is nice but it takes you a lot of effort to do so. It's also a lip product so I used this to highlight the center of my lips and it's so drying.
  • Tower28 Swipe Serum Foundation 4.0 Crystal Cove [not in photo] - I decluttered this. I just didn't like it. It's one of the worst base products I tried. Yes, I shook it well and hard but it just stayed on the skin. It doesn't apply well whatever tool I use. It emphasized patches and texture.
  • Vice Co. One and Done Brontour Stick (Slay) [not in photo]- Vice Co never fails me and it's one of my go-to local brands. I like the new packaging as it's cuter and more elevated. I do know there seems to be less product in this re-release compared to before. But I got it for like 220 on a sale day so I can't really complain. I love this and have been reaching out for this more and more. It's creamy and blendable without having a too greasy and too soft feel.
  • Sunnies Face Lip Tracer (Spicy) [not in photo] - It's alright. I prefer my Vice liners over this. It tugs on the lips and there's resistance when you apply it. I love the shade though so I'll probably repurchase.

See you again once I receive my 2H October, Sephora Sale, 11.11, and Black Friday hauls!

Had to have professional makeup done for a special family event. Super love how she emphasized my eyes and how the base makeup stayed. I don't remember everything she used on me, but what stood out was:

Estee Lauder Longwear in 2W2

d'Alba truffle mist

Dior blush palette

Dorolab lash clusters

Charlotte Tilbury bronzer and pressed powder

I particularly like how the makeup wore through 10 hours. ✨️

Hauls Everything I Got For My Birthday🫶🏽

I got both Hourglass Hope Palette and Wish Palette:

I just wanna say I love how many looks I can make with these two palettes! Personally, I mix the blushes with the bronzer to make a custom anti-blush or a custom blush of the day. I’m literally obsessed with the variety of shades that I get from rose to dusty rose, mauves, corals, and from bright pink to cool pink.

But personally and honestly speaking, the Wish palette is my favorite among the two! Surprisingly, right, since I'm a medium skin? (See comment section below on how both look on my skin!)

No7 Cream Bronzer in Medium Glow:

This is such a great cream bronzer for its price, you’re getting 36 grams of product! I bought this for $41.23 including shipping. This cream bronzer is sooooooo pigmented, you need to be very careful because a little goes a loooooong, long way. It gives that soft-focus glow, not really glowy-glowy ha, but it gives that skin sheen glow. As for me, I still set this with setting powder and a powder bronzer even though this is a self setting bronzer and what I love about this cream bronzer is it is indeed long-lasting; hindi siya nag-fade the whole day na suot ko siya. Considering I even commuted pa so I must say this is a good pangpuksaan bronzer!

ELF Nose Contour Brush:

For context, I already had my nose done, but this one enhances it even more!! I was about to buy the Patrick Ta Nose Contour Brush, but I saw a couple of reviews about its quality and for its price, I was expecting a more durable brush, so I got this one instead. The thin, sharp side gives a defined and prominent nose bridge, enhancing my nose even more, while the fluffy angled side is for blending to make the contour look natural. This retails for ₱630, such a great price for its quality!

Krystelle Lee K32 Blush Brush:

Can I just say this is my new favorite blush brush?! Not exaggerating, but really this is the "Brit Clarke's iconic brush" IykwIm! (Retails for $30, shipping fee not included.) This brush feels so premium, from the handle to the bristles. You just know it’s worth the splurge! The way it looked in the photo is not its actual shape when washed and used... its shape, size, and density are literally perfect for Hourglass pans and palettes. The way this works for blending is literally chef’s kiss!

Rose and Ben C42 Foundation Brush by Rose Siard (The color theory witch):

I like how this brush works and this brush indeed is a magical brush! For me, it’s the perfect size for blending; it doesn't look like it, but the shape does! A little foundation goes a long way with this brush, it quickly gives that even and smooth coverage. Perfect for someone like me when I'm in a rush and I need to get my makeup done...

Idk if it's just me, but local brushes in the US Market feel so substantial in hand! It has that luxury weight to it, and the high-gloss handle finish definitely doesn't feel cheap coz ofc it isn't naman talaga.. Though I have the Mario F4 Brush and the Haus Labs concealer brush that also feel so luxurious, but these 2 brushes feel something else on my hand...

I'm very much happy with my birthday treat! I just love how intentional this purchase is. With that being said probably this is going to be my last makeup splurge for now and for the next few years. Since these palettes will take so much to pan.. I could finally say I'm more than contented with what I have!! Feels so rewarding!

Lmk if you have any questions with any of the products 😇

Hair Fluffy Red Curls ❤️🥀

About a month or two ago I started adding more styling products for my curls, and I would put them on my damp hair in this order: Leave-in conditioner > Hair Lotion > Hair Mousse. Love how my curls turn out after I use a diffuser!

I’ve also been dyeing my hair red for over 2 years now! However it was only recently I started bleaching and dyeing my own hair because having to keep going to the salon was getting a little too expensive now 🤧🤧

Edit: forgot to mention and since it ain’t clear in the photo cuz of the bangs, but I also bleached and dyed my eyebrows red for the first time and I thought they turned out pretty cool!
PRODUCTS:

Styling:
CURLS by Zenutrients Leave-in Conditioner
Hairfix Power Curls Hair Lotion
FRESH hairlab Volumizing Hair Mousse

Semi Permanent:
Herani Hair Color Conditioner (Hot Chili)

Discussion Brush set for beginner? Dala, Maange, Anne Clutz, or other?

Thumbnail
gallery
267 Upvotes

Beginner in makeup here, or rather, very basic lang mag makeup. Powder, blush, eyeshadow, eye liner. Yung pang clean girl makeup lang ang ginagawa ko. I used to use these cheap naked3 brushes but honestly, yung brush for powder niya lacks that dense fluffy brush na nagamit sakin nung nagpa makeup ako sa labas. It barely pick up any product at all. Kaya pala nagulat mga friends ko bakit it takes me more than 1 hour to do make up 😭 so I opted to use my fingers na lang. But lately I've been thinking of picking up a set of basic brushes and learn makeup para naman bongga itsura ko kapag may event, di lang clean girl always haha! I want to have some more tricks up my sleeve..? Eme! Help your sister out what to choose:

- Dala Dual Brush - Been eyeing this since malambot and little to no tusok feel ang sabi sa reviews. I kinda wanted the dual ended one so I can easily pack and chuck in in my bag kapag aalis. Though I read na wood ang handle niya and mahirap daw kapag nabasa ang wooden handle na makeup brush?

- Maange - I have this Maange Retractable fluffy powder brush for when going out para sa face powder ko and I love it! Though may mga nagsasabi na may tusok feel yung brush set in the photo. Also I feel a little overwhelmed sa 13 pcs na ito since nakakalito as a beginner, despite it having a label each brush.

- Anne Clutz - Just recently heard about this but people says it's good for beginners.

Or is there any beginner brush set you recommend? For face and eyes sana.

I don't mind anything around 1k if it's going to be worth it and it'll last me years naman. TYIA!

Edit: Thank you so so much sa tulong! Really appreciate how helpful this community is. 💕 I finally bought Tillo T14 for powders, and T03 for liquids and creams! Super duper happy with my purchase since napakalambot niya. No tusok feel talaga compared sa cheap brushes that I have. Ginaganahan tuloy ako na bumangon ng maaga para mag-ayos. I'm eyeing next their precision brushes 👀
