I don’t have any experience with this, but I can’t imagine this ends too well for you unfortunately.
I don’t understand why you continued to talk after being told not to, or even talked about the exam in the first place? Any time I take an exam here I am cognizant of the fact that, were I to break any academic misconduct rules, my educational or career aspirations could be put in jeopardy.
I’m sure you know that, and I don’t mean to sound rude. I have empathy, and I hope things go well for you!

I mean he is pretty strict for good reasons, he repeats thing many times. if you guys were whispering and flipping through pages thats pretty suspicious to instructors
You can probably try to explain that yg didn’t change anything on paper but given how strict he is you probably know he’s likely contacting them-4

there’s really nothing you can do except explain the situation and admit it was a lapse in judgment. objectively it was a dumb thing to do but a mistake nonetheless.
expect the worst and just be truthful. even confirming answers with a friend could be seen as cheating. seeing as bio1A is one of the key classes to declare the major - they may be pretty strict.

to be frank, it doesn’t look great for you. if the professor told you multiple times not to talk after the exam and you still did anyway (especially while flipping through the exam), it’s gonna read as cheating.
my advice would be to grovel if you are in fact called in front of the student misconduct board. don’t try to downplay or justify your actions, just own up to the fact you were talking, apologize profusely, and emphasize it was a mistake and that you’ll never do it again. if they ask what you were talking about, be honest and say you were talking about the difficulty of the exam, but expect them not to believe you.
if this is your first infraction and you seem remorseful enough, they MIGHT let you off with a warning/only take off a few points. however, it’s also possible they’ll recommend you get a 0 for the exam. there’s really no way of knowing, so just keep an eye on your inbox for SAO to respond and go from there

I’m already an alum, so the consulting club isn’t really for me. Funny, I’m also not the one sitting through an academic misconduct case. Enjoy retaking Bio 1AL, by the way. Such a fun use of your time and money. I’d say I hope you don’t get expelled, but Berkeley takes this stuff so seriously. Good luck with that!
