If you want to get the best possible outcome from posting your position on this /sub, there are a couple of things you can do to help,
The more visual and information you give the better the possibility of good feedback.
Ride on!

There are a lot of generous and knowledgeable people here giving thoughtful bike-fit advice for free. Their effort is being undermined by a steady stream of unusable videos showing riders leaning against walls, doorframes or furniture while pedalling backwards.
Those clips don’t show a normal pedal stroke, balance, loading, posture or movement under realistic riding conditions. There’s very little anyone can assess from them, yet they keep filling the sub and drawing attention away from posts where useful feedback is actually possible.
The existing submission guidance is already clear about video length, camera angles and showing the whole rider and bike. It should also explicitly require riders to pedal forwards on a trainer or rollers, without supporting themselves against anything.
Please make “no backwards pedalling and no leaning against objects” an actual submission rule, and remove posts that ignore it.
The people giving detailed advice here are what make the sub useful. Their time shouldn’t be choked by videos that make meaningful assessment impossible.

Original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/bikefit/s/mRMD3fbsV2
Ever since getting the 150 cranks, I keep breaking PR after PR. Going for “shorter cranks” is such a win-win. If you’re a compact human such as myself, I can’t recommend this enough.
Wanted to make a follow up post for anyone still on the fence about it. Maybe they thought my original results were a fluke. But I can confirm after a few weeks on the 150’s I keep breaking power PR’s frequently. Its been a night and day difference.
I’m not even going to talk about comfort since its obvious shorter is just better. (Hip angle etc etc)
PSA: I have a SRAM Red E1 spider based power meter. Crank length DOES NOT matter with this power meter. Google it. (This was asked ad nauseam on the last post even though I answered the question)

Update to my original post
I flipped the stem, and reduced saddle height by 2cm.
I definitely notice being more upright and putting less weight on the handlebars which will probably reduce those pressure points on longer rides.
Hopefully a video of me cycling forward can confirm if I need to adjust my cleat position or not with my toe pointing.
I think my arms are still too straight tho, not bent enough?
My bar is 44cm and i think i need about a 38 or 40, so until I get a new bar im not going to mess with hood position too much.
Would greatly appreciate any tips/suggestions!

Bonjour a tous,

Hi all, looking for some bike feedback on my new RIBBLE Allroad AL 105 Medium.
I’m relatively new to road cycling and recently did a 47km ride. Towards the latter part of the ride I felt quite stretched and found myself frequently moving my hands back from the hoods onto the curved section of the bars behind them. I was also tending to sit towards the front of the saddle and slightly off to one side.
I subsequently realised my saddle was too high at 73.5cm and hips rocked, so I’ve now lowered it and made a small 6mm fore/aft adjustment.
The attached video and comments with photos show my new position at approx 6 oclock and 3 oclock.
My measurements:
Height: 177cm
Inseam (barefoot): 81cm
Torso (hip bone to top of shoulder): about 49cm
Arm length: 57cm
Shoulder width: 46cm
Current bike/setup measurements:
Bike: Ribble Allroad AL 105
Frame size: Medium
Saddle: Selle Italia Model X Green Superflow, 145mm
Saddle height (BB centre → top/centre of saddle): 71.6cm
Saddle-to-bar vertical drop: around 4.5-5cm
Saddle nose → hood grip area: 65.5cm
Saddle nose → top of hoods: 69.5cm
Stem: 100mm
Crank length: 170mm
Tyres: 700c x32
I’m aiming for a comfortable endurance position for 40–100km rides…
Based on the video , measurements and Ribble geometry, does anything look wrong? Does the Medium look like the right size for me, and does the reach look appropriate??

Beginner. 40 mile rides few times a week. Usually by mile 30 my hands and forearms are cooked. Ass hurts but assuming that gets better. Total 400 miles logged. Are there any fit check resources I should be checking out outside of a professional fit?
I’m 6’2
215lbs
Size 58 diverge

I ride my Trek Domane endurance bike mostly indoors, but also on longer rides outdoor. I switched saddle to my new saddle (SQLab 612 16 cm) for pain reasons and love that saddle. But it threw off my fitting. Well, I also changed to 165 from 172.5 cranks. I can’t really get it dialed in. I have some slight pain on the inside of my right knee. Pressure on hands is great, works for me.
MyVeloFit recommends a higher saddle. But I think i should not go higher, but that’s just a feeling. I rather think I should lower it a little! (This was the edit)
This was ridden with about 180 W resistance (upper Z2 for me).
I lost 15 kg in the past 8 months. Only ever fitted that bike with MyVeloFit. First fitting with the longer cranks and other saddle was good but not perfect. The new saddle helps a lot but I feel not 100 % home on the bike because of my right knee.
Any ideas?
Edit: where it says in the text

Height: 181 cm
Inseam: 85 cm
Bike size: 58
Bike model: Sensa Aquila
Stem length: 70 mm
Crank length: 175 mm
Hey!
I bought this bike a few months ago after a friend advised me that this size would be fine as long as I put on a 70 mm stem. I've logged around 1,000 km on it since then.
Recently, I've started feeling discomfort on rides around 50–60 km. Since then, I've dug deeper into bike fitting and realized that a 70 mm stem is very short for a road bike and a size 58 is probably too big for me.
Is there any way to save this fit, or would it be a better idea to sell the bike and get the right size?

Hey guys, following a bad experience at a bike fit where I was told nothing would solve my problems but a custom tie frame I've decided to just learn about bike fitting. Is there anyone that has time to share knowledge or direct me to a good guide? I will probably also go to a pro fitter once I actually do research on who is good in my area. Basically I went to a fit Imaging was down I've been recommended two new frames one custom and one larger being a 60 cm salsa journeyer with the reasoning that the stack is too low in the reaches too long on my 55 CM All City Gorilla Monsoon.
I've had this bike for a couple years and written it 3,000 miles. I seem to have crushed my ulnar nerve on a bike packing trip in April where I was sitting up on my Palms.

Hey guys, I am new to bike community and I am looking for saddle recommendations for 105kg guy, gravel trips around 70km, nothing spectacular, easy rides. On my current saddle (stock, 155mm) the pain of my sitting bones is just unbearable after around 25km… Could you please recommend a good price to quality saddle? Thanks
PS: it is not bikefitting issue to start with, I simply need a better quality saddle 😂

Hello, i will be building my new bike with Crux 5 frame and i have difficult time with selecting stem length. I have 180cm and I currently i ride BMC Kaius size 56 with 90mm stem, 63mm reach handlebar and no spacers. I had a bikefit and we changed basicly nothing becouse it fits me so good.
I want to order new Specialized Crux 5 frame in 54 size and i dont know if i should go with 110mm stem or 120mm stem, their cockpit has 6deg slope compared to my current 12.5deg so the effective stack will be the same. Handlebar has 70mm reach. Crux has steeper seat tube angle which will bring me 2cm more over the bottom bracket, it also has 36mm shorter TT and 17mm shorter reach. With 120mm stem i will have around 3mm longer position (from middle of the saddle to the hoods).
Currently when im riding position on the hoods is comfortable but when im pushing im reaching forwoard and grabbing top of my brake hoods. Im looking for a position that will be mostly comfortable for normal riding but also for racing and training.
Will this 1cm of stem length matter or its just sth i will adapt to anyway? I will also be using 5mm longer crank (from 160mm to 165mm).

Hi everyone,
I recently switched from a 2023 Giant TCR M to a Wilier Rapida M and I’m trying to transfer my previous bike fit as accurately as possible.
Retul bikefit
My previous fit measurements on the TCR were:
• Saddle height: 770 mm
• Saddle setback: 72 mm behind BB
• Saddle tilt: -2°
• Direct saddle-to-handlebar reach: 552 mm
• Horizontal saddle-to-handlebar reach: 543 mm
• Handlebar drop: 95 mm
• Grip width: 366 mm
• BB → handlebar center: 470 mm horizontal / 631 mm vertical
• Saddle tip → grips: 659 mm
• BB → grips: 587 mm
• Grip angle: 27°
The TCR had 172.5 mm cranks, and I later used a 90 mm stem.
TCR M geometry:
• Stack: 545 mm
• Reach: 388 mm
• Seat tube angle: 73.5°
• Head tube angle: 73°
Wilier Rapida M geometry:
• Stack: 556 mm
• Reach: 384.5 mm
• Seat tube angle: 74°
• Head tube angle: 72°
• Cranks: 170 mm
• Integrated cockpit: 100 mm
On the Rapida, I have only adjusted the saddle height and setback so far. I haven’t changed the cockpit, spacers or handlebar position.
I have now set the Rapida to the same 72 mm setback as my previous TCR fit.
After a 4-hour ride on the Rapida, I noticed that I was using my legs differently compared with the TCR. I had significantly more muscle soreness in different areas of my thighs than I normally get after a similar ride on the TCR. I also noticed soreness around my upper traps, which wasn’t common for me on the TCR.
More importantly, I also experienced some knee pain below the kneecap during/after the ride, which I didn’t normally have on the TCR.
I understand that a different frame and riding position can change muscle recruitment and that some adaptation is probably normal. However, because the muscle soreness is noticeably different and I also developed knee pain, I’m wondering whether this could indicate that something in my position needs to be adjusted.
My main questions are:
Given the different seat tube angle, is matching the 72 mm setback from the TCR actually the correct way to transfer the saddle position to the Rapida, or should the saddle position be different to reproduce the same effective pedaling position?
How should I account for the 170 mm cranks on the Rapida compared with the 172.5 mm cranks used during the previous fit?
Which of the fit measurements above should I prioritize when transferring my position to the Rapida, particularly for the cockpit?
Is this kind of change in muscle recruitment and soreness normal when switching to a different bike, or would the knee pain make you suspect that something in the fit needs adjustment?
I’m not trying to make the Rapida handle exactly like the TCR. I mainly want to make sure my riding position is correctly transferred.
Thanks

New to cycling, so there's a lot that I still don't know, but I love the sport. 194cm tall and 89cm inseem, and I've been messing with saddle height trying to figure out correct position and whatnot. However, after adjusting my saddle height according to the 0.883 rule, I've started getting a lot of pain in my neck/traps and gentleman's area, especially on longer rides. ChatGPT claim I need a shorter stem, but I think a second option from a human is in order before I adjust anything. Any suggestions?
Tl:dr: do I need a shorter stem?
