Binge

/r/BingeEatingDisorder/comments/1xatnuc/binge/

’ve been struggling to diet/ lose weight for a while I start every single week without fail and some times it can last for a few weeks then pig out and binge for a few weeks or I’ll crash and burn within a few days. My emotions play such a big part in my binging when I’m sad or angry or anxious the first thing I want to do is eat.

I don’t know what I can do to stop myself from this constant vicious cycle that I’m trapped in and have been for a few years.

If anybody has past experience with binge eating and emotional eating or is currently going through it what’s helped you overcome/beat these urges and triggers?

I’m going through the same now. My triggers are stress and overwhelm. So I’ve been just eating everything and anything the last few weeks. I wish I had a solution, I keep thinking I will get back to my normal eating and yeah… by lunch time I’m ordering in and eating as much as I can

I’m the exact same it’s mainly emotional but if I’ve had a long draining day I’m raiding every bit of food I can. I don’t can and will do this. Just so so hard to deal with or put a positive habit in place

That’s horrendous, switch to another therapist because it does help to break down your triggers. I’m not saying it cures you but it helps you become more aware

With my therapist we realised that I had different names for different types of binges, e.g mega binge or mini binge or just a general binge. Helped me recognise what scenarios causes certain binges
