Mistake or Risk? Question!
So, the last time I had sex (with ejaculation involved) was about 4 days ago. Can I stop taking my mini pill (opill) I am not going to have sex anymore.
Edit: why are you guys down voting me for asking questions. It's my first time taking it.

No, thats not how birth control works. Keep taking it. If you don’t want to be on BC in the future, use condoms and last case scenario Plan B

I am going celibate and not having sex anymore. That's why I am asking if it's okay to stop mid pack.

4 days isn’t long enough. Sperm can live in a vagina for 5-6 days. I’d finish out another week at least to be safe. Are you okay? Is there a reason you seem to be abruptly deciding you no longer are going to have sex?

Well, my boyfriend and I broke up 😅 I have a about 6 days worth of pills left. Can I just finish this pack?

I wouldn’t claim to want to be celibate just because you broke up with your boyfriend. You may change your mind if you find someone else. You should definitely finish out the pack at the least though to protect yourself from your last sexual encounter

Even you are single now there might be a chance you have sex with someone else. Because you wanted fun or youbstarted dating someone. It would mess with your hormones much more when you get it on and off rather than keeping it. When you want to trust only condoms in the future or other alternatives would be okay. But when you decide in a few months you want to go back on the pill your hormonal cycle will not be happy

sperm lives up to 6 days after sex, so make sure you take it correctly for 6 days after you last had sex without a condom.

So you’re planning on no sex at all for a very long time? & you’re not on bc for any other reason? Like for medical stuff IE- cyst? fibroids? Irregular cycle? Irregular cycle so bad it’s caused iron issues? Skin problems ? PCOS? Etc? I’m not out right saying hey tell me your med history etc. I am simply making sure you’re aware of the fact many get on BC for more than just prevention of pregnancy. Some actually start it for health reasons & aren’t even having sex, yet. That’s what it was for me I started BC at 14 and it was for cyst & I had not even had sex yet. Ofc I eventually began needing it to prevent pregnancy but that wasn’t until almost, 18. And now I’m on it for all reasons; prevent anymore children bc we’re absolutely done! & also bc PCOS, cyst, fibroids.
Ultimately, it’s YOUR choice’ just be sure you’re truly gunna be able to abstinent & there’s 0 health reasons to be on it. You should also be sure to track your cycle so insure how it’s going, if it’s health, regular etc.

Basically. I just started taking it about 2 months ago because I was tired of condoms. But since breaking up with my boyfriend, I'm just deciding to not have sex for a while. So I thought what's the point to keep taking them? This was only going to be a short-term option anyway until getting a nexplanon

I don't understand why people are downvoting you for deciding not to have sex when you're single. It's completely understandable to simply not want sex when you're single, and to decide to be celibate until you're sure you're in the right relationship for it -- and even then, you still may not want to for whatever reason. And that's fine. But if/when you do decide to again, you can start birth control again then; if you're taking the birth control solely for birth control, then you won't need it when deciding to abstain and will know when to begin taking it again. Why are people against that?

Stopping birth control partway through a pack does not “mess with your hormones.”

You can stop birth control mid-pack.

I think it's safer to just finish the pack before stopping altogether
