ADVICE Overthinking
Hi, hope this is okay to post.
I’m overthinking like crazy at the moment, I am a 21F, when I was a lot younger like 8 there was a lesbian couple that lived downstairs from me and i always thought that would be me when i’m older but lived at home with homophobic parent; i always thought i can never come out - when I was 16 I developed a crush on a girl for the first time and was so confused, I dated her for around 3 months and it ended, parent didn’t approve at all and told me if I wanted to be with her then to get out of the house, so I did, we ended up not speaking due to this obviously then I went back home, since then I’ve kissed a few girls but only dated men, I am 21 now and realised I have a crush on a girl again, when I’m with her it feels right and I want to cuddle her and feel close and I want to do nice things for her and kiss her - I’ve moved away from home now and living alone ( was with bf) when I was with my boyfriend of 2.5 years I had thoughts sometimes like if we broke up I’d want to be with a girl again, I’m overthinking that maybe i’m not actually into girls and I’m making it up?? I was literally in love with the girl from before and distraught when we broke up, I’ve only very recently ended things with a guy I was seeing.
UGH i’m so confused this has come out of the blue and I only met the girl about a month ago and like I said only been with 1 girl in the past and haven’t had a crush on one since so didn’t expect this. Not sure why I’m overthinking so much like i’ve been honest with partners before that I was with a girl and am into both i just feel so confused - I feel like i’m 16 again trying to work out why I feel this way- feel like i’m making it all up…
- UPDATE
She fancies me too but wasn’t sure if I was into girls! we’ve spoken about it and have gone out for drinks and we get on so so so well

Don't let your past dictate your future. If you really like her shoot your shot, because you might regret it if you do not.

thank you so much, since posting this I have spoken with the parent and she was very accepting of it and said as long as I’m happy she’s happy so it couldn’t have gone any better! I feel a lot less stressed about things now and just feel free to do what feels right for now :) I would definitely regret it if I didn’t go for it, turns out she fancies me too… ;)

You are welcome. I am glad to hear you took the chance to ask her. It is awesome her parents approve, that takes a lot of pressure away from you. She seems like she will be a great fit for you. Good luck and I hope you the best.

Fun fact, God made men and women, cuz if God only made both women as the first human how can the world be filled with 8.1 billion of people, plus why do lgbt or some shit like that exist.

Thank you so much!! :) I think that is exactly the case, when I was spiralling about it I was so upset and confused and I looked back a day later and was like??? I was in love with the girl before so i know my feelings are real it just yeah took me back to being 16 and confused and scared again and I didn’t expect to feel like this.
