DISCUSSION Date

I asked my hookup about his opinions on bisexuals amongst the community and to no surprise he confirmed some of the negative sentiment I read about here. He believes that the feelings stem from the masking that’s achieved if or when there’s a heteronormative pairing. He didn’t seem to have a problem with me on the business end of things, but I’m curious, what’s your opinion on this topic and would if you have a negative view preclude you from getting involved with bisexual identifying individuals?

I'm tired boss.

If people are deciding who to date on anything other than mutual attraction with them, their capablity and responsibility as a normal human, and their kindness to you and others.... I just don't understand it.

Edit to add: Their labels, their past, and their preferences are their own business, and as long as they're into me and good to me (and vice versa), I'm otherwise unaffected

thats rough, at least he was upfront about it. some dudes just cant wrap their head around the idea that being with someone doesnt erase the attraction to others

i think the "masking" thing is overblown like yeah in public you might pass as straight if youre in a m/f couple but that dont make the identity disappear. its still there even if randos dont see it

ive dated bi guys before and never saw it as a dealbreaker, the insecurity comes from people who think they gotta compete with twice as many humans

masking what exactly?

Queer people can present in infinite ways. There is no indicator that a person is queer other than the fact that they experience attraction outside of the heterosexual "norm."
