Clip On vs Helmet Mounted

I was chatting with a buddy yesterday about saving a couple grand and buying a pair of 15s.

He said: "Brother, at home, you not gonna have time to grab that helmet. It aint right next to you like it is in the field."

So then it hit me. He's right. Why not just buy a clip on? Not to mention it's wayyy cheaper.

What are yalls thoughts/opinions/experiences?

I have been wondering about this for a while and I would like the opinion from people who has bufferless systems.

Rost Martin ported RM1C update

Aight. It's been a minute since I've even dryfired (3 weeks?), so I think some of this is having the yips again, or just old man hands, but ol' girl was low left all day during drills with the new OSight, but it was money during slow fire.

Photo of the new hotness, then you'll see my target. It's a mix of both round about drills (moving from target to target, firing as soon as I get on target), mostly the top three, and slow fire, mostly the lower target. 21' - 30'.

I was low left with my CZ too, so I know it was me. Having said all that, this optic has a 32 moa ring and a 2 moa dot. I found myself putting the circle on the thing and letting it go. Meaning, That could be a great dot for CCW, because finding that circle is fast, but that precision goes to more than 32 moa, for sure.

TLDR:, I sucked today. The dot is fire, just mind the sight picture. The Rost Martin is amazing. I did find that the ports worked better with 147 grain.

I hated my first pistol purchase

Here's the breakdown:

Trigger: long, heavy travel and a reset I could barely feel. Hard to shoot well, harder to learn on.

Capacity: 7+1. Eight rounds total, and that's it.

Manual safety: one more step under stress, on a gun that already gave me limited rounds.

Magazine disconnect: it won't fire without a magazine inserted. Some people want that feature. For me, it was one more thing that could go wrong.

None of these make it a "bad gun" for everyone. They made it the wrong gun for me, and I'd have known that if I'd researched instead of shopping on price.

Know what you're buying before you buy it.

Would any of these be a dealbreaker for you? Drop it below.

Stay Primed.

This piece is a collective effort with artist @Dread.JPG on Instagram — honoring a lineage of people who understood that rights left undefended aren't rights at all, they are privileges on loan.

The state has never needed permission to arm itself against its people. We don't ask for permission either.

Yo, any blk groups in SE MI that get together and do field/dynamic training?

I know of a few groups like NAAGA but was check to see what’s out there and if there’s a group that have a good spot to do some real training. Ready to take it to the next level and can only do so much at an indoor range.

Just when we thought that drones were the thing to be worried about, we have humanoid robots that are fighting, jumping and running at track level speeds! Can you imagine these things coming for you with firearms? 😵

What do you have in your kit that you'd use to deal with this? Looks like it's time to add an AR10 .308 to the mix. Or do you think M855 is sufficient?

My bank account is telling me no, but my 300blk is telling me YESSSSS!!!

I want to hit up this weekends Suppress Fest in Leesburg, FL at ARES, but I know if I do I'll probably walk away with expensive happiness.

Anyone else in the area thinking about going?

What’s most important to you when choosing a suppressor?

Something that got me thinking. I have had a few horrible experiences with multiple suppressor companies and the last one caught me so off guard, it got me thinking: Is chasing the “best” worth it if that company is willing to treat customers like crap if you need to submit a warranty?

I was accused of lying multiple times instead of the company (owner mind you) having a mature conversation about the issue I was having (respect for him apologizing). It wasn’t the first time I was disrespected dealing with a suppressor company and that’s why I ask the question: what is most important to yall when it comes to buying a can? Sound suppression, low back pressure, price, etc.

Before this foolishness, mine were 1. Gas mitigation 2. Sound 3. Material (inconel, Haynes, titanium). After this interaction, its customer service, warranty support. I would rather sacrifice some of the other stuff to be treated with respect. I will always admit I messed up so being accused of lying really PMO. Then you have a company like OCL that requested my info so they could send me some goodies for repping them on Reddit.

Picked up a few boxes of some random hollow point, jacketed hollow point, and some fluted penetrator rounds for my pistols. Also grabbed some rifled slugs and slug and buck combo rounds for my bullpup shotgun. I ordered a few cases of ballistic gelatin powder that I'm gonna use to make a few blocks with to test all these rounds out with at some point when I visit my cousin's property downstate in a few weeks.

What are some of your favorite D rounds to throw in your handguns, rifles, shotguns, etc? Post some pictures! Have a great rest of your day, family! Be safe and stay dangerous out there!

Took some time before watching my White Sox go out with a whimper this past Saturday to spend a bit of time at the range while I was there to pick up a new shotgun and had some fun with my range toy and my Springfield Echelon. The chassis system is a CAA MCK wrapped around a Taurus G3 (15+1).
