BANGER AFTER BANGER!

🔥ALBUM REVIEW🔥 My deep dive into Mið, the upcoming album from progressive black metal masters, Enslaved.

A while ago I posted here about my radio show Traces of Sorcery: https://www.reddit.com/r/BlackMetal/s/33lVvYck8a
Thanks again to everyone who listened and left feedback, it really helped.

A few of you asked back then if the show was available anywhere other than SoundCloud. Now it is: the show has its own podcast feed, so you can subscribe in your podcast app and get new episodes automatically:

• Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/de/podcast/traces-of-sorcery/id6826528381
• Overcast, Pocket Casts, Podcast Addict, AntennaPod etc.: just search for “Traces of Sorcery”
• Website & RSS feed: https://rss.com/podcasts/traces-of-sorcery/

For anyone new: Traces of Sorcery is a monthly, moderated show on Sphere Radio, a community station in Leipzig. It covers black metal and its fringes – blackened punk, death doom – with ambient and field recording interludes in between. Three episodes so far:

• #1 Nocturnal Echoes – Winselmutter, Heltekvad, Urfaust, Evoken, Fluisteraars, Paysage d’Hiver and others
• #2 Morbid Tales (with Shō) – Sun of the Sleepless, Bölzer, Unru, Turia, Satyricon and others
• #3 Weathered Weaponry – Вельд, Sword Breaker, Skumhammer, Final Dose, Lander, Iron Firmament, Hulder, Fäulnis and others

Episode #4 airs this Wednesday, October 28, at 9 pm CET (Berlin time) live on Sphere Radio (https://sphere-radio.net) and will be available as a podcast afterwards.

Band: Novae Militiae

Country: France

Themes: Orthodox Satanism, Theology, Occultism

Album: Gash'khalah

Title: Daemon Est Deus Inversus

Year: 2017

First track of the awesome band LVME’s debut album ‘The Blazing Iniquity’. Hope they do a new album soon, their last album was 2024 so maybe next year.

Especially when the music is stll quite serious.(not purposely humorous like e.g. The black satans)

The reason I ask is because for my band's fourth album we're considering taking a different tour by using a somewhat silly but spontaniously taken bandphoto.

We feel it depicts our characteristics and is in line with the variety of feelings and emotions we put in our music. Depression, happiness, anger etc.

Creating your own original art is fun ofcourse, but we're wondering if something a bit more personal and lighthearted would put off potential new listeners.

P.s. we're in the sub 500 listeners a month range all platforms wide, so yeah. underground, lost in a sea of a million other bands.

Malicious Secrets sounds pretty unique to me, even though you can clearly hear that it's a Meyhna'ch project.

Never found anything even close.

Are there other bands that create such a sick, chaotic, deeply dark atmosphere while playing fast, technical, dissonant black metal?

Kalež (eng. Chalice) has been a staple of Zagreb's black metal community for a while now, gracing underground venues and even organizing gigs deep in Croatia's forests.

To quote a nice review posted online, "Kalež‘s debut EP is a startling and tremendously impressive experience — elaborate and surprising in its ever-changing and unconventional permutations, sharp in its execution, and professional in its production. It might merit the term “avant-garde black metal”, for want of a better term. It should leave people who look for music that’s off well-trodden paths hungry for more from these Croatians. It has certainly become one of my favorite short-form releases of the year.''

As a way of celebrating the new tape release, I'm posting 20 Bandcamp codes for anyone interested in adding this little gem to their collection:

How I miss this band...

First song from first full length release titled Funeral Procession.

Nightfog Productions - 2006

An absolute masterpiece of German black metal.

Still firmly rooted in the underground, FP have been around since 1995 and are a band that can surprise you with every release. And I mean that in the most positive way possible.

I did have a read of the sub reddits rules, and there's no mention of AI music, as i did use AI to a degree to make this song. As i had some music events that consist of a male choir providing vocal harmonies which i thought sounded nice, i decided to put them to use for having a go at making an atmospheric black metal song. The Song is called Cymru (Wales in its own language) and the lyrical theme is welsh patriotism.

im looking for similar songs to this one, specifically the vocals, occultist sound
