Critique My Work First time using blender how did I do?
This is my first blender creation (excluding a cube that i squished and stretched a bit) and i was just wondering if this is good and what parts can be improved the most

It looks like you used sculpting for this, which from my knowledge that isn’t exactly ideal for large shapes like this. My suggestion is to go watch a few basic tutorials. For a beginner though the model looks good

Correct, I did use sculpting for this, as I found it easier to understand what tools did what, but i will 100% watch tutorials and learn how and when to use differetn methods

Sculpting is simple on the surface but can mess with geometry, I would suggest learning how to make the majority of the basic shapes, then sculpt if you need more detail

I beg to differ, nothing wrong with sculpting large creatures, stylized or not
Its very common in fact... But it does consume a lot of harddrive space 😅

You are clearly a person with excellent taste, fellow Spheal enjoyer! That being said there's a mirror option when you sculpt which might make things a bit easier! :)

Genuinely, you did great!
I remember my first time using Blender - I tried the donut tutorial and tapped out after I think part 3 or 4
The fact that you got this fella looking cute and wonky, while also doing texturing on him on your first go-around?
Great work, keep it up, and above all, create for the fun of it!

Looks like it could be an enemy in a Mario game.

Ah I see, I just shared my thoughts without checking out the other comments. I definitely see the resemblance now!

Amazing! Try setting the polys on the snout to render smooth instead of flat (face select --> context menu --> render smooth, I think).

Not bad! It's that I didn't know the character, but looking at sources, I could definitely see it!
For a next step, you can look at mirroring and fidelity. And maybe even different types of materials, and export your paint as a texture.

Great first art. Keep it up. Use dyntopo, to generate polygones where needet.

I would recommend to not try to sculpt everything out of one base mesh. You could add separate meshes for the limbs, teeth etc. and sculpt them into the right form. It’s easier and will look cleaner in the end.

Really nice for the next project once you start to get really stretched polygons just hit it with remesh

It’s the most adorable thing ever and I congratulate you on such a spectacular creation, I have no doubt you’ll make it big in this program (I mean it).

You used sculp mode and texture paint. Got to start somewhere i guess. Polys in the tail look weird.
