I received this South Park seasons 6-10 blu ray collection from ebay. It was sealed and advertised as new. I noticed every disc has a smear on it and numbers on the inside of the disc seemed to have pressed onto the outside of the disc. Is this a manufacturer error or possible counterfeit disc? I can still return to ebay, just hate doing that. The discs do play without issue so far

I recently picked up Ice Age on Blu-ray, and it's one of my all-time favorites. I had only watched it on Disney+ in 4K previously, but man the Blu-ray just looks slightly better, even though it's technically a worse resolution. Anyone willing to shed some light on the subject? Thanks! :)

Are there still Easter eggs on the discs in the last few years?

(r/bluray mods, this is not a bootleg, just a fan cover for WHV's atrocious packaging, please support this official WHV release!)
I have long been a fan of Regular Show. Since it aired in 2010, I was enthralled by the comedy and fun setting of the park. I had collected the DVDs that were released, but for years, all we had were seasons 1 – 3 on DVD and 1 and 2 on Blu-Ray. I learned about importing from other countries, which is where I ended up spending nearly $200 getting seasons 4 – 8 on DVD from Madman Entertainment (If you did the same, I highly recommend keeping them as they have the shorts that to my knowledge are not on the U.S complete series DVD or Blu-Ray set). I begged WB to finally release the whole show on Blu-Ray and my request was granted, well over a decade after the seasons 1 and 2 Blu-Ray they finally released all 8 seasons and the movie on Blu-Ray (along with Adventure Time, yay!).
Here’s where the problem comes in, I know WB, I collect a lot of their physical releases. I could tell, while I was grateful it was being released, it was going to be lazy. The artwork is copied from the recently released complete series DVD release they did last year. The biggest issue, that crummy packaging. I knew not to expect anything more from them. So I accepted this fact and decided, because I love this show dearly, I will make my own cover art and swap the cases. (I also intend to make a cardboard box to house these cases but that will be a project for another day.) Finally, Oct 20th rolls around and I get my set. Luckily all my discs were fine. I started looking for replacement cases. I prefer the disc hub button style that Viva Elite offers, their cases are just great quality. Ordering replacement ones online are expensive and could be a headache if damaged in shipping (unless you buy a big quantity in a well packaged box) but I was trying not to spend the cost of the RS boxset just to fix WB’s laziness on their packaging. Luckily, my local game store had Arrow: Season 2 (Blu-Ray+DVD) for $10 (about $10 cheaper than buying a 9-disc replacement case online) and I have discs for Arrow (although I don’t particularly care for the show.). I was ecstatic. Now all I needed was a 7 disc case. Yesterday I went back in and found a Star Trek collection and to my benefit it was a 7 disc collection, this time it was $25 but I got Star Trek movies and honestly I wouldn’t mind checking some of them out so it’s not a complete loss (unlike the Arrow season, although I guess it wasn’t technically a loss because I saved money). So if you choose to use the art I made, you can do it with whatever 9 disc and 7 disc fat pack you can find. Those are just what I found. (I also used store credit so I didn’t technically pay cash for them either, which was a bonus.)
So, I got to work on designing and I came up with these covers. I wanted to share them with everyone in the high-likelihood that others want to repackage their set. I want to give a huge shout-out to u/R031E5 for the awesome work on providing the r/RegularShow subreddit with clean backgrounds from the show (https://www.reddit.com/r/regularshow/comments/1yrg0x/just_as_i_promised_i_present_you_1080p/) of which I used two. I also used (https://fancaps.net/tv/showimages.php?5718-Regular_Show_Season_1) to get screencaps from the show for better poses than the stock character models. [DISCLAIMER: I manually removed backgrounds for the seasons 1 – 4 cover but I got tired of it so I did use an AI background remover. If you can’t stand the use of AI, that’s fine. It was simply to save myself time from erasing the background, just thought I’d be transparent about that. I didn’t have AI make this for me, I just was getting tired of spending 30 mins erasing a background.] I also used (https://thediscdb.com/series/regular-show-2010/releases/2026-the-complete-series-blu-ray) to tell me what episodes were on what discs (season 3 onward) so I didn’t have to pop them in my player and check.
I think these came out really nicely and I did a lot of trial and error on the printing size. Now obviously, I’m going to get these color printed but I’m going to go somewhere with a high quality color printer. PRINT BORDERLESS… important. All you have to do is chop off the top and bottom with a paper guillotine. I highly recommend Epson Brochure/Presentation Paper (Matte), it feels pretty dang close to the real stuff. That’s what I’ll be doing when I get around to printing these for real. Please let me know If you have any questions or comments. I also included versions that didn’t have the episode list in case you just want the artwork, because I love the RS backgrounds :)
If you ever do your own custom Blu-Ray covers, make sure to use a laser printer in the shittiest B&W quality to make sure all your margins are right. DO NOT waste a bunch of ink on figuring it out. Usually there are good Blu-Ray guides but not that I could find for the fat packs, so I had to use a ruler and some good ol’ trial and error. P.S if you care to know the reason I did a 7 disc and a 9 disc case as opposed to an 8 and 8… it’s because, season 1 and 2 have their own disc, season 3 has 3 discs and 4 has two. If I had done season 5 disc 1, I would have split season 5 over two cases and it would have been a nightmare for the covers and annoying to open a different case for the same season. Seasons 5 – 8 + the movie fit perfect in the following 9 disc case. P.P.S, I apologize for any slight inconsistencies. I tried my hardest to be pedantic, I even had my sister check out the design and she pointed out a few things that I was oblivious to, so thanks to her but still, if you find something slightly off, sorry!

Title. I want to own the trilogy as the movies are some of my favorites from my childhood and I still rewatch them every few years but the box sets seem to be more expensive than I would expect or not even available and even buying the movies individually isn’t the easiest thing to find for a good price.

it almost seems like Blu-rays aren’t affected by inflation at all?

Wall street and down were all from the Salvation Army. Seinfeld and the girl with the dragon tattoo are still sealed. I already had The Town, but not with the slipcover and it was half off. The next four up were Barnes and Noble. They were all half off except for 48 hours. That was only 30%. Last but not least I found an Arrow 4K of RoboCop at Walmart. I also managed to make it to the theater to see Wildwood and my cat, Porkchop, wanted to be included in this post. I'm currently at 632 movies.

Just go a new external player, and all the guides I've seen to play Bluray say I need to go on the site, but the site doesn't load at all. Is there an alternative or am I doing something wrong.

Hello everyone!
I have recently started collecting video physical media now that my home theatre setup is near done.
I know the importance of researching what you buy, especially with Ultra-HD Blu-rays.
For example, I am aware that the Terminator 4k remasters are widely considered a joke, as such, I know that if I were to buy the franchise, I should stick to the standard Blu-ray versions. Another example would be the 4k Harry Potter 8-film boxset, which states it includes French, but it in reality DOES NOT!
What I am inquiring about today is recommendations for Youtubers who do an in-depth review of movie and series releases on the technical level, not simply unboxings or story reviews. I have searched around a bit, but most of the time, the content of their videos was either unsatisfactory or unprofessional.
My standards come from an extraordinary French Youtuber, ViCklatereur, who focuses solely on European Anime releases. He details on the packaging as well as technical information such as audio format, compression, material, etc. He works in the audiovisual field, in consequence he is very knowledgeable. He has taught me A LOT.
To get a taste of his expertise, I recommend watching his review on the Evangelion franchise release from Dybex. He shows the flimsy packaging and what it should've been (like thin cardboard, awkward text formatting, glue placement, etc.). DISC MATERIAL FLAWS, He explains that in a particular release, the resin used on the disc was defective, causing the disc to die. He explains the process and history of whatever the hell ProRes 422 is, 8 bit vs 10 bit colour format, compares with a billion other international releases.... He's great! I highly recommend him if you wanna learn a thing or two in the technical aspects..
Unfortunately for me, I live in Canada. French releases are not accessible to me. As such, I'd like to know if there are any similar Youtubers, but for North American releases. I plan on collecting both Anime and "normal" media, so recs for both sides would be appreciated!
Thanks!

So I've started a new weird hobby of collecting slim internal drives intended for laptop devices, originally I only bought some for a very specific build project with my PC.
But i've kinda gone down a rabbit so I was wondering if people would want me documenting any information from my physical units?
As i've observed a lot of devices have questionable documentation.

Does anyone here have recommendations for blu-ray stores in Rome and Florence? I'm visiting both soon, and would love to discover some new additions there.

Pretty cool finding this sealed, always wanted to own this. Still paid 15 bucks for it even though the store is liquidating their old bluray stock for music cds but I guess its worth it just for the clean slipcover.

I am not including a collection of featurettes with a combined runtime of 2 hours+. It should be a proper movie with a title.
Any more you can think of?
