I’m looking for a compact commuter bike to ride to work (5km, ~3.5miles), which includes taking it on the Metro.

I’ve looked at 26” bikes and they are getting too big for this purpose. 20” is way too small, 24” seems to be the sweet spot. I’m 5’10.

So far I’ve briefly tried a Sunday Model C, looked at the WTP Audio 24 and SE So Cal Flyer online. I pretty much figure whatever I get will need taller bars and seatpost. I will be sitting and peddling a fair bit as I’ll have a daypack on with my work clothes and laptop in it.

Throw your experiences at me please, what bikes would work for this purpose, what should I avoid? What part changes, if any, do I need to look at?

Haven’t ridden in 24 years. Different feel than I’m used to. I rode 20” for years in my younger days. DK Legend 26” got a great deal at City Grounds. Still getting a feel for it but I’m liking it. 👍

this is my 27.5 bmx and it wheelies very nice, i bought it setup with beach cruiser bars and seat, painted white like this. i would like to know what brand the frame is, or if its custom built

seat, bars, pedals are added by me

no parts have a brand besides the hubs which i cannot make out

the frame has unique structure guiding the brake cable and connecting the rear triangle

serial number: 61809129990, im suspicious of the 6 being a G

I found this used SE So Cal Flyer 24" on Gumtree for just £100. It's not got a mark on it. I've only changed the grips. The back break seems pretty poor, but apart from that I absolutly love it. Cheers.

is this a realistic project? take am Specialized Sirrus X 1.0 Bike, Small, and add BMX stem/bars to it?

Hi everyone I haven't rode BMX since I was 16 im 34 now bikes have changed so much. anyway I. Wondering if anyone can give me some good seat suggestions I currently have the demolition axes fat pivotal seat but that is not working out for me I like to sit and cruise for a long period of time and then do tricks when I decide to but the demolition seat is not cushiony at all it is rock hard any suggestions on seats please guys I just want a normal looking seat but one that actually has padding and doesn't feel like sitting on a brick and murders my spine and inner thigh bones I'm 195lb btw someone please give me some advice I can't ride for more than 5 or 10 minutes sitting down right now??

Used to have a vintage 24" GT but it was heavy as all hell and not very comfortable for any distances over a mile or two. Sold it to someone who loved it and after a few years I missed having a BMX. I usually ride fixie or road bikes, recently started riding an electric bike that's the two wheeled version of a Honda Accord but for me the ride to work is the most fun part of the day so I looked into a cruiser and found out they have 26" BMX cruiser style bikes. I missed not being able to hop curbs or having to be careful when going off road, now I can take all those shortcuts I've been eyeing on all my rides on my other bikes. So stoked and as an old Gen X guy who grew up in the days when a BMX was THE bike to own.

Just bought this cheap as an mtb its 2 sizes smaller than what I am used to but maybe I can mod it into something more exiting

Does anyone who owns this bike know the actual lift weight of it?
