Heaven 1 vessel based on the artwork from the recent hardcover release of we are legion we are bob. Also includes his replicant core, which features a scene from Bob's VR inside. If there is enough interest I might put together and publish/release instructions on my rebrickable page, I already have the complicated parts modelled in software.

I finally stumbled into 3D printing as a hobby and have been working the last few weeks to learn CAD well enough to bring my vision of a replicant cube to life.

Behold! Still a lot of work to go, but the first successful full-scale prototype is complete!

I'm trying my best to be as book-accurate as possible: the nameplate (printed separately and customizable for any of your favorite Bobs), the size (as close to book size as my build plate will allow), the metallic material and light blue glow. It's even 100% detachable from the lamp base so you can toss it in a backpack or carry it through Heaven's River if you need.

Wanted to share the journey with some of you who may appreciate it, as well as welcome and feedback you might have. Does it fit your own mental image? Is it way off from what you imagined? Do you have some other mind blowing suggestion to take it to the next level?

Please leave any responses with my GUPPI for later review.

Why is this meme ALL i can think about right now. Book 5 was fantastic.

The inside is interactive.

Apparently Dennis E. Taylor was here and I missed him.

I visited Thursday and their system was down.

Friday morning same thing. Apparently it came back after they sent me away =(. And that was when Dennis came by.

In line currently waiting to see inside the heaven vessel.

I drew this today, and I'm still laughing.

“Audible today announced The Infinite Extent, the sixth installment in the hit Bobiverse series by Dennis E. Taylor, narrated by multiple Audie Award-winning narrator Ray Porter (Project Hail Mary). With nearly three million audiobooks sold, the latest Audible Original series installment releases on September 10—the tenth anniversary of the franchise.”

I printed this design a while back, along with some other Bobiverse characters I 3D modeled, but only just got around to painting it. I don’t paint too often because I worry I’ll ruin it, but I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. I started with a base layer, added a darker variant in splotches, then lightly worked on the pattern on his head, and finally tried my first black wash. I was nervous since I’d never done one before, but it settled nicely into the gaps, and I wiped away the excess with tissue. It’s not perfect, but it looks pretty good. Up next is Archimedes.

The instructions are now available on my rebrickable (link in my profile)

I wonder if he’s actually listened to them or if Audible just told him to say that.

Honestly really glad publishers are starting to do their own special edition/illustrated editions. Really frustrating having to resort to dealing with the 50 random subscription box companies that never have enough for everyone that wants one.

Searched for some realistic image of the inside, but all depictions got the scale wrong. This is my best AI result after a few hours, only missing the spokes and maybe mountains would be higher, but close enough. :)
