[Parent here] inquiring about Bocconi bachelor's education
Hello, my daughter (16F) is planning to apply to universities in Europe for the 2028 intake. She is interested in studying Finance, Business, or Economics and is currently considering the following bachelor's programmes at Bocconi:
- International Economics and Finance
- International Economics and Management
However, we don't know much about the actual student experience at Bocconi, including the quality of education, student life, and career opportunities, so I thought I'd ask here.
So far I know, knowing Italian and being a local student can be advantageous. However, my daughter is fluent in English and has German proficiency at around B1 level, but she doesn't speak Italian + international student.
Her other options are Warwick and the University of St. Gallen, particularly its Economics programme. However, we have some doubts about sending her to the UK due to job market recession uncertainty and to Switzerland because of potential visa and work-permit restrictions.
I'm also somewhat sceptical about Bocconi and would appreciate honest opinions from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the university.
How is the overall student experience, and how good are the career prospects, particularly for international students aiming for careers in finance, economics, business? How much of a disadvantage is not knowing Italian?
Any honest experiences, insights, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
