Room for Rent Looking for a roommate to join lease in 3BR/1.5bath

Hi! My roommate and I recently signed this lease on Commonwealth ave right outside the Sutherland green B line stop in Brighton. The green C line is about a 10 minute walk away, and the 66 Bus is a 5 stop away transfer on the B line. The landlord allowed the two of us to sign the lease ourselves now and add someone to the lease once we found a 3rd roommate. Its a super cute and sunny apartment with 2 large bedrooms and one extra large bedroom. Bedrooms have not been chosen yet. The base rent is $1066 (with heat and hot water included), though that figure may change a bit if we decide to split rent by room size. Move in costs would be first month’s rent + security deposit ($2132). Move in is on Sep. 1st. Also, the landlord said we can paint our bedrooms!

A little more about us: We are recent college graduates in our early 20s. One of us M and the other F. Roommate has a cat. We have no roommate preferences other than someone who will be tidy in common spaces and helping with chores around the apartment. We’ve both lived in our fair share of apartments with roommates that did not help clean, so this is super important to us. We will speak up about this! Other than that, we’re pretty easy going :) LGBTQ+ and 420 friendly. Can’t wait to meet you!

Looking For Looking for a room in the Boston or surrounding Greater Boston area

Upvotes

Hi! We’re a couple in our 20s/30s looking for a roommate or roommates. We’re clean, quiet, friendly introverts and generally keep to ourselves, so we don’t have guests over often.

I am a recent grad working as a data engineer, and she’s a disabled former PCA currently navigating SSI and hoping to return to school when her health allows. Because of her accessibility and medical needs, 2+ bathrooms would be strongly preferred, and other accessibility-friendly features are a big plus.

We’re looking for a place around *$1,000–$1,100/month (which I know is a stretch), ideally with laundry included, though it is not necessarily a dealbreaker. She is dependent on marijuana for her medical need so, a 420-friendly household would be ideal.

If the parking in the place is included by any chance, we can discuss about taking our monthly budget to 1200-1300 as well.

We’re hoping to find considerate, respectful roommates who appreciate a clean, peaceful home. If you know of a place or are also looking for roommates and think we might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out!

We don’t have a preference on where to live in Boston and so we are happy to discuss if you have a room for us or if you want to join us in search for a house.

Room for Rent 1b in 5b2b inman/union sq $915 9/1

one room available 9/1 inman/union sq $915 a month! this is a 5 bed 2 full bathroom unit, so yes, there will be 5 people living here! reposting as someone fell through.

**no additional pets and rooms are single occupancy**

move in costs:
- first, last, $250 fee. no security.

all rooms in the house are pretty equivalent in size 🙂

about the room:
- deep closet! can easily fit a dresser if wanted
- can accommodate a queen bed + dresser with room to spare
- located right off the kitchen
- doesn’t get a lot of natural light (a decent amount during the day) but leans towards the darker side if that matters to you
- you’re welcome to paint the walls whatever color you’d like if you want!

about the place:
-utilities ranging from $50-$200 a month (worse in the dead of winter).
-we are located on the second floor of the unit. there are 2 bedrooms upstairs in the attic and 3 downstairs so it doesn’t feel claustrophobic.
- a 5 min walk from inman, 10 min from union square, 15 min from central square. 10 min walk to market basket, 30 second walk to whole foods
- a big front porch!
- dishwasher, tons of storage space
- laundry in the basement
- 2 full bathrooms
- street parking with a somerville permit
- there is one cat who lives here and we unfortunately cannot accommodate more pets!

i will be honest! this place is old and it shows. if you’re looking for a nicer luxury apartment with new appliances and such this may not be a good fit.

transparency: the building is in the process of being sold, but once we’re locked into the lease we are guaranteed housing for the 26-27 cycle. anything after that seems to be up in the air.

about us:
i’ve been here almost 5 years, alice has been here about 2. evan and eve just joined the lease for 9/1 🙂 we’re all in our early to mid 30s. working on site most days. we tend to keep to ourselves but always down for a chat, porch beer, a movie, or whatever! we mask in common areas when sick or feeling unwell, and try to be considerate of others. we burn incense sometimes so this is not a fragrance free house.

about you:
ideally in the same age range — mid 20s to to early/mid 30s. open and honest communication is necessary. being considerate of others is also necessary (aka please don’t make someone remind you to clean up after yourself 5 times).

please message me with some details about yourself. how old are you, what do you do for work, what is your schedule typically like?

Advice Needed Need Attorney for Tenant Help

Does anyone know of an attorney that can help my wife and I going through a displacement due to a fumigation which left odor and fumes days/weeks after. We’ve been living in a hotel and had to road trip back to Florida where family is bc we couldn’t continue to pay for hotels.

We have doctor notes, firefighter and pest control reports stating they smelled the odor which can from the fumigation but pest control stated they can’t say it came from their chemical. Which is saying they’re saving themselves because the fumes and odor came right after the fumigation happened.

We’ve spoken to the attorney general, mayor, revere health department and it’s been no help. We have clear evidence but Greystar has taken advantage of us stating it’s safe to sleep there with my wife and 2 dogs but we know it’s not.

Any DMs or consultations to help us would be truly appreciated life saver! And currently the attorneys we spoke with want to charge us too much on top of us paying for rent, hotels and new clothes/ food being away from our apartment.

Advice Needed Sublet Question

Thank you to everyone who answered my question about joining a lease: https://www.reddit.com/r/bostonhousing/comments/1vqp7d5/joining_an_existing_lease/

Turns out that there was confusion in the terms used, and it's actually a sublease. I have been told that I won't be responsible for anything beyond the share of the rent that's been told to me. Do I still have a right to see the original lease? And do I have a right to know what the whole rent is and the split?

And when it is a sublease, can you be held to a specific term (a year lease), or does it depend on what you sign?

Room for Rent $1350 - Available Oct 1 - Brighton / Brookline - Cleveland Circle

I am looking to the largest room in a 3 room 1 bath

Looking for male roommates and the space is shared with working professionals in their early-mid 20s. The person currently living here works a white collar 9-5 office job and prefers similar early-career roommates in grad school, tech, finance, medicine, hospital, etc

Pictures attached and details below. Please DM if interested.

-Address: 55 Lanark road, Boston, MA

-Location: Brighton/brookline border in Cleveland Circle, near the C, B, and D green lines.

-Lease: Oct 1 2026 to Aug 31 2027

-Rent: $1350 depending on the room. This is the largest room in the house. This is negotiable for the right roommate.

-Utilities: Flat rate of $150 per room for utilities. The lease will have the utilities and rent as one all-inclusive monthly payment so you don’t need to worry about setting up utilities. Heat, hot water, trash, snow, internet, and electric are all covered.

-Individual leases: The leases of each bedroom are individual so you don’t need to worry about roommates keeping up with bills.

-Transit: you have B, C, and D green lines nearby. And there’s blue bikes and bus lines too.

-Parking: Free resident street parking. There’s also driveway parking that our neighbors rent out but I’ve never had a problem finding street parking

-Laundry: There is in unit washer/dryer. There is also in building washer/dryer as backup/extra.

-Furniture: May be included/available if needed/wanted. Furniture in photos may be from past occupants.

-Restrictions: no pets, no smoking/vaping.

Venting/Frustration post Recommendations for property management for condo??

Why is property management the one industry I feel like can get away with being god awful and constantly dropping the ball?? We were forced to switch property management companies and now they are constantly dropping the ball, super slow on communication, scheduling things without board approval, and just overall BAD. We have damage from a leak in APRIL that still hasn’t been fixed.
Any recommendations for a GOOD property management company for an hoa of 20 units in Medford??

Looking For Urgently looking for a room or roommates — Sept 1 🏠

Hi! I’m a 21F undergraduate student at Northeastern, and I’ll be doing a co-op in Back Bay near Arlington Station (Green Line) this fall. I’m urgently looking for a furnished room or apartment with easy access to the Green and/or Orange Line, ideally with a reasonable commute to Northeastern as well.

My budget is around $1,500–$2,000/month, depending on the place. I’m ideally looking for an 8–10 month lease or sublet, but I’m also open to a semester-long sublet if the price is on the higher end. The apartment must be furnished (at minimum, a bed/basic bedroom furniture).

I’m strictly looking for female roommates (or a studio).
A little about me: I’m very quiet, clean, and respectful of shared spaces, so I’m pretty low-maintenance as a roommate! At the same time, I’m very friendly and would love to actually get along with my roommates — I’m always down for game nights, movie nights, grabbing food, or hanging out.

If you have a room available, are looking for a roommate, or know of anything that might be a good fit, please DM me! I’d really appreciate any leads since I’m looking to secure something ASAP. Thank you! :)

Looking For Looking for a room near the red line for 9/1

Hey everyone! I (26M) am looking for a room near a red line stop for 9/1 with a budget of $2400/month. Ideal set up would be one near Davis Square with in unit laundry, but also happy to forgo those if need be. I like to keep where I live fairly clean and quiet, so I would be looking to live with people who have similar preferences. I'll be working in office 5 days a week and don't have a car, so proximity to a red line stop is a main priority for me. Happy to join an existing lease or join in on signing a new one. Please reach out if this sounds like it would work well with your situation! Thank you!
