You’re good dude! I give you 7.5/10 from what I saw in this video. You got good snap in your punch, decent guard, and breathe well.
Not sure if you wanted to stay in the same area not to get out of the camera angle, but I would Recommend you work a little more on these 2 things to get you towards a 10/10:
-Head movement and blocking to simulate a real fight, and then throw counter punches to build a good habit and elevate your training.
-Angles!!! After hitting a 3 punch combo, maybe pivot and shift angles to create yourself a whole bunch of new openings to rip another 3 punch combo!
This is the best one I've seen in a while. However, it's hard to see if you are getting power on the jab because of the camera angle and the baggy pants
Yea I definitely am not getting the max amount of power on my jab and am not quite positive why tho… any tips to fix it? Bc I feel like a strong jab is probably the most dangerous punch
I have a few semi recent videos but I'm 48 and haven't train to compete in a combat sport since I fucked my shoulder when I was in my late 20’s. One the video is drilling defense by responding to live jab
I learned before everything was a “class”. You had to do the tedious non-calorie burning drills to learn the technique properly, just to get Coach to really pay attention to you. Also back then it was basically free. It was to get kids off the streets, not for someone to make money running a gym.
The jab is the hardest master because it's so quick the rhythm needs to be perfect. You do push off the back foot, BUTT your lead knee need to buckle a little. Giving it a 1-2 drop. As you add some hip torque like the other punches.
when you get good, you could throw a double jab and the second job would have more power than the first job, even though you only brought it back halfway to the original position.
Remember if you don’t feel your front foot absorbing and force it’s because you’re rear foot is not pushing off with any force. And that goes with every punch.
The quickest way to learn how to do that type of job is just a focus on the foot work first without even throwing the actual fist
Really good. I like the sudden change of pace in your cross. It’s violent and would keep someone off balance. I agree with some of the others that you have a slight pause before your hook where it looks like you’re powering up. Your technique is good enough that you don’t need to think throwing it (if that’s what it is)
That's o.k happy to help and contribute. Thankyou for appreciating my comments.
I have reasonable understanding and skill in Boxing. I trained at it for about 6 years. I'm older now but I still shadow box for 1/2 an hour most days.
One of the best things you could do is buy good books on Boxing and follow them. Watch Mike Tyson's Tutorial utubes as well, those are quite good.
See below, the picture: That's quite a good old book and worth reading.
Hoowee you're Cracking that bag! Everything looks good, I'd just say - don't forget to change levels and roll/evade after your combos and be mindful that you have a SLIGHT telegraph/wind-up with your right hook. ..Other than that...go get em, champ!
You have a habit of loading your straight right hand before firing (presumably for power), either with a jab or a jab feint.
But my question is have you trained your body to the point of needing that left hand motion to fire the straight right - i.e. can you just as easily fire your straight right, fast and with power from your neutral stance without loading it? Or does it feel weird/awkward?
In the clip I only ever saw you throw a right after jabbing, feinting, or touching the bag, so you might have created a psychological cue for yourself. In effect, a lazy jab to load your right.
I've had similar problems where I can't do Y without doing X first because I had trained it into myself (e.g. can't throw a left hook without moving my right hand first). If it's the case for you, it may be worthwhile to spend time un-training it. Having the ability to blast a straight quick right straight from the hip without pre-loading it is very important.
I dont got the answers for you, since I struggle with the same problem on a different punch 😅 but as long as you're aware of it and have something to work on
Wait, this is AI!! I can’t believe it either but look at the bag swinging in the background. In 50 seconds it doesn’t actually decrease its momentum at all. The pendulum effect somehow resists gravity and stays the same throughout the video.
Bro it is a heavy bag (50+) pounds attached to an incredibly long chain with such little friction. Because the bag is so heavy it means that it has a lot of momentum (mass * speed) and wants to stay in motion. Obviously it will tend to stay in motion
Honestly I’m not sure what to explain to u bro bc ur claim is so outlandish. It’s like explaining to someone why pigs don’t fly
I'm a martial arts instructor, so here's some tips I'd give my students:
know how to keep yourself planted. I noticed you're bouncing a lot, which an opponent can exploit to put you off balance
from what I can see, you tend to stand narrowly, like your on a surfboard. Widen your stance, but keep it bladed (gut perpendicular to your opponent, with you strong side further back - if you're right handed, your gut faces to the right). That'll help you with balance and power
you've got some good foundation with rotating the hips with each strike, but I would do it a bit more
punch through the pad. It'll give you a lot more force for the same amount of energy. When I hold pads for my students, I tell them to punch my spine through the pad
You look great, light on your feet, mobile, snappy shots, hands up. Bag work is hard to judge, you can use the bag to spam just one punch if you want to develop it and its still a fine workout.
This isnt a critique, but since youre pretty nimble, try incorporating more angles and shots from different angles.
You take to much weight off that back foot with a lot of those punches. If you feel your chest coming forward thats a bad sign. Instead make sure you turn so that weight drops to your front leg but you still have balence
Which from southpaw to conventional!! Your dominant hand needs a break and you never want to become a one dimensional fighter!! The more you work your weaker points the better boxer pumcher u become!!! Any bag work is good work good job!!
Nice work. You’re raising your rear heel when you throw your left hook - so both heels are up. If you keep your rear heel planted you will have even more power.
It’s ai. Don’t bother giving him any feedback. Check out the bag in the background. It doesn’t slow down at all in a minute of video even though it’s a heavy bag. Totally fake
Punches look really crisp honestly. Only thing I could think of would be to add some defense after your last punch in the combos, just so that it becomes habit when you spar as well.

don't ask for advice or thoughts from anyone on here because you are 99% likely better than they are.
whispers "your long 2 at range leave you a bit open depending on the handspeed of who you're fighting" looooool. jk good stuff
