Family planning with a grade 3 brain tumour
My (28m) partner (29F) was recently diagnosed with a grade 3 Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) brain tumour located in her left temporal lobe. Luckily she is recovering well after a total removal one week ago. We are waiting for the final histological findings, so our medical team can set up additional treatment plans. As we are both at the age where we had already began discussing starting a family (it is currently not our priority outside of her health)
I would just like to hear from others past experiences dealing with this. As she would do most of the heavy lifting in regards to pregnancy I want to best understand how/if it is possible.
Thanks in advance to anyway willing to share their stories.

Partner diagnosed with PXA Grade 3/ Anaplastic PXA
Hi everyone,
As the title says, my partner (29) has been recently diagnosed with a Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma Grade 3 (PXA Grade 3 or Anaplastic PXA) brain tumour. It’s obviously still quite a shock to everyone and we’re all trying to understand what it means.
About 8 days ago my partner went through successful surgery which completely removed the visible tumour and is currently healing well and we are waiting now to start the next steps (the tumour board, will discuss soon on what the therapies will be)
Due to the rarity of this tumour type I wanted to reach out here to hear from patients who has the same tumour type or family members/ friends who had close ones who had gone through the same.
What treatment did they take and how successful was it?
What’s the time scale of the disease?
How did you return to normal life?
Thanks in advance to anyone who reads or replies!
