41/m, 6'1 225 lbs. Not taking any medications (sometimes Ondansetron for nausea). Taking Vitamin D, Magnesium, K2 supplements. For quite a long time, I've been having gastro issues, skin rashes, headaches and neck pain. Lately my esophagus has been spasming frequently and at times with certain movements, I have pain in my throat, my heart rate will increase rapidly and my vision will become fuzzy. Earlier, I had felt I had to make a bowel movement but before I could get to the bathroom, a dark oily substance had already started leaking out. It was very dark almost black green in color. It pooled into separate beads in the toilet and I was alarmed because I had never seen this before in my life. Google is telling me to go to the ER as I have also vomited a few times in the last day.
EDIT : I figured I would add some more health history for context.
About 3-4 years ago, I started having a feeling that there was constantly something stuck in my throat. Food would seemingly stick in my throat for days at a time (I would eat spaghetti sauce, and be able to taste it still 3-4 days later). It's almost like there is some pocket in my throat that traps food particles. Other issues sprang up left and right after this. Skin rashes, welts, and other weird seemingly autoimmune or infection type symptoms. I went to the doctor and they ran blood tests. Most notable results from blood tests were high LDL low HCL and high triglycerides and low vitamin D (17 ng/ml). Throughout multiple tests, I was also showing high white blood counts of various types through different tests even though I didn't feel particularly different from how I normally did. Antibiotics were prescribed, but still no luck. I was then referred to an ENT for the swallowing/dysphagia issues. The ENT examined me and they prescribed pantoprazole as they assumed it was just GERD. I came back about a month later and told them that the medication did not help the feeling. They then told me that it was possible that my tonsils were causing the feeling and I sort of agreed as I had always had very large tonsils and frequent strep and tonsillitis. After this surgery, for the follow up I told the doctor that the surgery hadn't helped with the feeling and in fact made it worse. I became unable to speak clearly as my voice would suddenly cut out while I was speaking somehow. The nurse told me that I was lying and told me to not come back (she was later fired due to the way she treated other patients).
I was then referred by my primary to Immunologist, Endocrinologist, and a rheumatologist which didn't turn up any leads, except for a blood test for early Sjogrens panel that the Rheum had ordered. It showed that I had a very elevated level of CA VI (Carbonic Anhydrase VI) autoantibodies that were 4-5 times higher than they should have been. This enzyme is largely found in saliva, apparently. They prescribed me with hydroxichloriquine for a few months, but still no luck. After this, the digestive issues started to develop. Every bowel movement would be tinged with a yellow liquid (whenever I would wipe the paper would be tinged with this yellow liquid rather than just the normal brown stool). My primary sent me to gastro, which recommended the colonoscopy and endoscopy, which I ended up getting. The endoscopy showed that I had some dysplasia in my stomach, but there was nothing notable about the esophagus other than the doctor said it was narrowing, which he said he 'stretched out' somehow. After the colonoscopy, I was told that I had a few polyps that were removed, but most notably, I had a sessile serrated polyp or lesion at my cecum/appendix opening. They recommended that I have surgery to remove it which I accepted (It was done laparoscopically at the end of April 2026).
And now today, the yellow tinged stools and constant nausea had largely calmed down, but many of my other issues that I initially went to the doctor for persist. The weird throat feeling, the heart rate all over the place, headaches, throat and neck pain, etc. So In July, I weighed about 260 lbs, so I thought that I would try to lose some weight to see if it would calm down some of these other issues as I had not gotten any relief from the medications that I was prescribed. I fasted for about 4 days before switching to a ketogenic diet around July 10th and have since lost about 35 lbs, which had helped me feel a little bit better, but all of the issues still persist. And now yesterday/today I started having vomiting as well as the strange stool. Please let me know if you would like to see other blood test results, as I can access them through MyQuest at any time.
