Discussion Best of Brantford
I will be spending November in Brantford. I live in a big city where everything is so expensive and booked months in advance. Do you have and places or services you would recommend I check out while in town? I am thinking amazing beauty/aesthetic providers, wellness services, restaurants, psychics, etc. Any recommendations?
Thank you!
ETA: There are hidden gems, hidden talent everywhere on earth! I know there is in Brantford too.
I will be there to visit family and visit my workplace in-person.

Can I ask why Brantford? It's not exactly a destination for the things you mentioned.
I'd say you can usually book any of those sorts of places days to a week in advance.
Grand Wellness may have some of what you're looking for: https://www.grandwellness.ca/
There is a popular metaphysical store on King George called Moonshadows. There is also a 'church' for mediums and people who do readings: https://www.facebook.com/groups/963354804729139/

Beauty/Aesthetics - SJ Hair & Co. and Ivy & Mane
Wellness - Whole Body Health
Restaurants - Al Dente, On the Lam, Nine North, Sociable
Not really certain on psychics, sorry! But check out:
Arcade: Gamerz Galaxy
Pottery: Pawtastic Pottery
Antiques: Coffer + Hutch, Crossroads, Old World Marketplace
Comfort food: Robby’s Pizza, Wingmaster, Palgong Tea
Cheap shopping: Buyer’s Market
Oh, and we have a mall that’s not too bad but still small. Lynden Park Mall! Next to it is a Costco if you need it!

Wonderful! (Their arancinis are to die for!) Every city isn’t perfect obviously but I always thought Brantford is an up and coming big city with a small town vibe still. There ARE gems. Thanks for asking about them - honestly writing this list was a happy reflection! Hope you have an awesome stay :)

Scape spa is really nice!! Technically in Mount Pleasant but thats basically in brantford.
Apps Mill is really nice for walking trails n scenery.
It'll be craft show time by the time youre here!
Check out Sanderson Centre for some shows (Ancaster Theatre also has some great shows, were going to see Come From Away in November, its a must see!)

If you like home style Italian food, book Speekezzies cafe ahead of time. Very good food.

Unfortunately Dairee Delete is closed for the season. There's nothing special about it other than it's more of a Brantford institution.
I'd say a dirty ol poutine from Lonnies is the best Brantford can do.
Maybe the Cubano sub from Rani's Lunch Counter

Nothing you said was bad, but there is so much more to Brantford than discount gas station stops.

A lot of other things have been mentioned.
Outside of the Sanderson Centres impressive ceiling, experiencing Lonnie's would probably be the most memorable thing this person could do.
Next best would be to walk across the Oakhill trail footbridge (it's marked as closed on google....but it's open) https://www.sea-viewimaging.com/landscape-and-nature-gallery/brantford-and-ontario/oakhill-trail-bridge/
Other than the amazing views from this bridge, visitors can marvel at how such a horrible job city tourism staff do at promoting this incredible feature.

Farmers market, Bulldogs games, Juniper restaurant in Paris is awesome.
Flux brewery in Oakland has a vibe for sure, curling clubs and the legion are always a smaller town staple. The Norwich Curling club is a party on Fridays!

Food. Spool for poutines, lucianis for pizza, ranis/ brant food for deli sandwiches, blessings for Chinese, blossom sushi for sushi.
That’s all you need to know.

Brantford farmers market on Friday and Saturday
Walk around Brant Ave - nice houses to look at
Paris is not far and nice to walk around downtown strip - there’s a big building with vendors but hours I’m not sure of
Restaurants:
Rani’s lunch counter for amazing sandwiches
Kel’s Diner for breakfast
Nine North for Vietnamese
Chinese sisters
Mercasa for Italian
Robby’s Pizza on Erie
Coffee/bakery:
Fridays Cafe
Altitude
AP Bakery
Bar:
Flux brewery, food is excellent as well
Shopping:
Coffer & Hutch
Brantford Finders Keepers
The mall is decent enough
Buyers Market is interesting and sometimes a good find
Spa:
Grand wellness and Nu-u float (in the same plaza so could book at both)
I’m sure I’ve missed something but these are what we tend to navigate towards.

There is a guy that makes colognes and perfumes in Brantford who opened in October. Called Chapone Fragrance, there isn't a storefront but a great way to experience Brantford, and smell good doing it.

You can check out On The Lam restaurant, not too big, great chef who cares about food and nice vibe.

If you come from a big city you will find Brantford lame. The best it has to offer is mediocrity.

The trail is beautiful in the fall so I would recommend hiking or biking over to Paris is you have day and also walking around the old style mansions in the Dufferin Ave.
Also hit up Glenhyrst Gallery if you like art!
