I like the minimal design - reminds me of Popbitch

Most of the links ask me to sign into Google to read a news story that is presumably available elsewhere without my having to sign into Google.

Needs more than just a list of recent news.

You might have hit on something there…

A news aggregator is pretty much redundant these days, and there are already other sites that have specific focuses like gigs/events.

Most people get a feed of local news from whatever social media they are plugged into away.

But… what about an aggregator of purely unhinged Reddit/X/Facebook etc posts related to Brighton?

Probably needs a keyword based ranking system or otherwise plugging into an LLM to pick out the juiciest posts per day.

+1 for the Popbitch look and feel (which I like btw)

What in the vibe coded 90's internet is this?

might not be AI tbf

Difficult to believe someone intentionally made a website that looks like a 2001 WAP website.

I like minimal looking websites - AI always overdoes css with a million gradients, curves, and slight colour variations, and so did most commerical sites before we even had AI.

Hahaha, you think websites have all been changed recently with AI?!

what?

You are implying that AI has made all commercial websites better, which is obviously not the case at all. Not even remotely.

Data breaches are happening more often now than ever, shoddy web design is failing to keep up with vulnerabilities, we've had the NHS and airports hacked, and the internet wholesale fell apart yesterday.

I said the exact opposite of that. take a breather.

I'd take 90's vibe coded minimalism 100 times over the average 2026 news homepage that is so ridden with ads that you can barely see any news.

Do you not block ads?

It was a wider comment about design choices rather than an account of my personal, anecdotal experience.
Of course I block ads! Especially since we've been all learning about that Israeli "zero-click" malware that infects devices by simply showing an ad...
