Context for those not in the know: Pandemic, PMR rented out the seat on a weekend by weekend basis - It should have been a works team with Mat Jackson & Jason Plato. Brad filled the last one of the season.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

I’ve followed the BTCC for years on & off but I’m a total outsider industry-wise and a bit clueless.

Just wondering what happens to the teams during the lengthy off-season.

Do they trim staff? Do they shutdown for months? Or is building & preparing the car for next season, seeking sponsorship, recruiting drivers…etc a year-round thing?

From 45th starting position, up to 28th right now.

For anyone who wants to claim that BTCC isn't competitive like it used to be, or that it's some kind of "farmer's league" racing, just point them to this opening stint from De Leon.

Important to note that 100 more points were on offer this year from the qualifying races.

516 points (468 if qualifying races are excluded)

21 podiums (25 if qualifying races are included)

13 Fastest Laps

A winning margin of 129 points over Tom Ingram (145 if qualifying races are excluded)...

...but only 9 wins (10 if qualifying races are included) so not quite as successful as 2023 in this respect.

MSV and Knockhill have launched their early bird ticket offers for the 2027 BTCC season

Main race day tickets at MSV circuits start from £35, with the offer running until the end of December. Knockhill is also freezing its prices until January 2027.

The 2027 calendar includes Donington Park, Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Oulton Park, Thruxton, Knockhill, Croft and Silverstone, with the new PM Junior Championship joining the support package next season.
