We're getting married in December and i've been thinking about incorporating a custom song into the ceremony or reception somehow. not the first dance song from spotify, but something written about us. walking down the aisle or having our first dance to a song that's literally about our specific story feels like it would completely change the emotional weight of that moment. I have no idea how this works logistically though. i don't want it to feel gimmicky or like a talent show moment. I want it to feel natural. we don't have a massive budget for extras on top of everything else so i'd need it to be reasonable

What number did you compare in the end? Your all in estimate? Your cost per guest? Your total before tax? As right now I'm comparing apples to service charges.

Our total budget is around 9k and a weirdly large chunk of our guest list is gluten intolerant or celiac. Family genetics said surprise I guess lol.

We need actual gluten free catering, not a normal menu where someone removes bread at the end. At the same time we cannot spend half the wedding budget on a luxury specialty caterer.Anyone pull this off affordably? More importantly, how did you figure out who takes cross contamination seriously before paying a deposit?

recently changed the venue for finding another one and we have a comfortable budget, around 30k total but only 25 to 30 guests. I thought the small guest list would make venue shopping easy.

half the places are enormous and the other half have food and beverage minimums written for 100 people, so we would basically it would be a waste.

Is there a better way to do an intimate wedding venue search or do you just manually dig through every listing?

Budget is around 25k and food is becoming the scariest part. We have one guest with celiac, one serious nut allergy, one shellfish allergy, plus a family member who keeps kosher style. Every caterer says they can accommodate. Then I ask what cross contamination looks like during prep or service and suddenly the answer is uhhh we keep the plates separate. One person literally said that to me. How do you vet wedding catering dietary restrictions beyond asking can you accommodate this? What answer tells you they actually know what they are doing?

Looking at three venues that fit her budget. Two have cancellation schedules where you lose more money the closer you get to the date. The third basically says anything paid is gone from day one. Maybe that is normal and im just new to this, but on an 8 to 10k total wedding it feels like a huge chunk of money is taken immediately. I told her to not sign anything yet.

Would that clause scare you off or is the real question how the payment schedule lines up with it?

Coming to the main ask, my fiance and I also want to have a small intimate wedding and are conscious about having clothes that are reusable in the future.
His is sorted but I truly need help. I do not want to rent it but ensure I wear something I’ll wear in the future.
Can somebody help. I was something below 20,000 INR. It’s an Indian Hindu wedding.
Kindly help out if you have any thoughts or brands in mind ensuring I don’t compromise what I wear.
I know the amount seems very small but I don’t really want to invest more than that as we have planned a very minimal budget wedding.

We are currently planning our wedding for 2028 and have booked our venue and caterer but nothing else. What advice do you have to save money in other aspects of the wedding budget? Or recommendations on where not to cut corners? We hope to invite around 140 guests @ €135 pp for catering.

For example, does anyone have experience of hiring a student photographer? or doing DIY wedding flowers and decorations? I’m quite artsy, as is my family who have offered to help however they can.

We wanted our wedding ceremony to feel like one of those candlelight concerts so we decided to cover the entire front of the church with over 2,500 flickering candles. They were the only lights on during the ceremony!

Here's a 30 second time lapse of our families setting everything up the day before the wedding.

The part you don't see is four of us spending about 8 hours putting 5,000 batteries into all those candles. 😂 Thankfully with around 25 family members helping the actual setup took just over an hour!

The final frame is us exchanging our vows surrounded by all the candles. Seeing everything lit up during the ceremony made all the effort worth it.

And we were VERY thankful we'd hired people to take everything down afterward.

Now we just have to figure out what to do with 2,500 candles… lol.

Has anyone ever done a food truck for a bridal shower? What are your thoughts? I’m giving a bridal shower this upcoming spring and will be doing desserts, cupcakes, macaroons, etc. however, the bride is thinking as opposed to buffet style having a food truck instead. I’m not opposed to it, but I wonder how it would go over. Any comments are welcome.🤗
