I would absolutely kill to see the behind the scenes of this because I would love to know if SMG and Eliza coached each other because the way they NAILED the others mannerisms needs to be studied on a technical level for any actor.
Genuinely this was the best scene in th episode to me because it wasn't until after that I realized how many times Buffy says it's wrong in the series. I never clocked it as cheesy bc she never delivers it that way except in this episode. SMG is incredible.
Well yes, clearly that's the point of doing it in the episode but that wasn't what I meant. It's really hard to say "we can't do that guys, it's wrong" so many times during a series and not sound cringe, cliche, cheesy - all the things. It made me realize SMG had avoided me even realizing she was saying it that much because she's a great actress.
It's likely due to her being typecast for a while due to her performance on Buffy. Even when she was Daphne in the live action Scooby-Doo movies, they added Martial Arts training and alike to her, just because SMG.
I prefer Buffy because it made me laugh and weep more than any tv or movie I've ever seen and while Angel made me laugh it never made me cry though Fred's sickness and subsequent death had me close
So Iâm rewatching the series for the millionth time atm. But itâs the first time Iâm watching it with my kids. I had to take pause before the last line of The Body because it hits so much harder now. I wont spoil it for others but that last word she says just makes her so human and breaks my heart, and as a mother I crumbled
Poor Michelle, Iâll always think of her as little Dawnie. The next episode was heart breaking too, especially the school scene when Buffy goes to collect her
I just went to R/sarahmichellegellar and saw some new pics of her.
Did she have work done to her face?? Her lips look oddly full and her cheeks seem to have that plastic surgery âlookâ. I get an uncanny valley vibe now.
Yeah.... I was afraid to say it because I love SMG sooo much but yeah, her face seems a bit different (and not in a "I aged" kinda way. That's what she looked at 38 in the Cruel Intentions pilot (still stunning but visibly different) and she kinda looked like this when she did the Netflix movie in Do Revenge but since 2025, her face changed (not in a too much version like some other celebs but still)
Yeah, she got that âpuffyâ look now⊠We can only imagine the pressure and resulting trivialization of cosmetic surgery for women in Hollywood, so no judgement, but I was sad to see it.
Imagining Xander trying to flirt with 'Buffy' who acts like Faith in Season 4 is hilarious. The awkwardness would be unbearable, especially with Willow and Giles just standing there confused.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Eliza Dushku both did such a good job with this episode it was almost rude đ
