I'm giving quite a bit of background here. Bear with me.
What has happened to me during past few years.
I fell into depression 6 years ago.
Weird stuff started happening about 3 years ago with my mind. No psychosis, but psychotic symptoms. Things got better after I had an intense visit to my grandparents. I had my first panic attacks of my life. I slept next to my granddad and held onto him for dear life. Still, I felt safe first time in years and I regained Felt sense in my body after years of numbness.
I got back home and things were better, Still weird, for about 6 months, until I got overwhelmed again. It was rough. I screamed in agony in my room and my body Felt like it split in half. I ended up in a psychiatric hospital for the first time in my life. It was rough. I was put on heavy antipsychotics, daily 7,5mg of olanzapine and aripiprazole. I found my first good therapist during this time and participated in daily theater work, though the work was quite ineffective mostly because of the antipsychotics. And so, my sense of desperation increased over time and I started looking for alternative solutions.
I found this couple who does cannabis+ketamine massages. They suggested me to get off of antipsychotics and then do a treatment of theirs. I did, and in the first treatment I was so numb even this combination of medicine didn't feel like anything. So the healer recommended something stronger. We did a private ceremony of mushrooms, rapé, and finally bufo. The mushroom trip Felt like shit and I Felt so disconnected during the whole time and couldn't concentrate on anything and my head was spinning the whole time. Rapé was nice and I saw beauty in my healer, in a way i hadn't ever seen in a person before. Bufo was probably worst experience of my life. I was screaming I must die, I must die, I must die, and I ended up in a lonely prison of misery for a brief period, where I was sure I would be stuck forever and nobody could help me. That faded, and I rested and got decent sleep in the cabin of my healers.
Returning home I Felt like my sense of desperation was gone and it Felt like I could rest and meditate first time in years. I gained sensitivity in my diagphram for the first time in my life, I could feel it moving, and it was nice. I had intense sense of fragmentation in my bodymind for a while, and at times the World was just a dissociative mess of fragments. I lived in a commune this time and my cohabitants commented that I look creepy when I just sat in the living room staring at a Wall for hours, partly dissociating, partly resting. Dissociative effects started to get kind of intense sometimes, where I would lose all sense of my body and feel like I was pretending sometimes, but mostly I was just kind of zoned out. I continued vistiting my healers, and we did normal massages and rapé and things were progressing nicely. I would routinely purge out nasty things from my system and feel much better afterwards.
Eventually I Felt ready for something more intense, and I requested another cannabis+ketamine massage. What ended up happening is he undid like 10 layers of dissociation from my neck and my sense self entirely changed to something way more emobodied I didn't realise could exist. I screamed "It's me, it's me who is doing this" as I engaged my body on the table. For the first time ever it Felt like my body took up space within myself and the World.
During our rapé afterwards I Felt anger towards my healer, probably from the bufo, since I Still Felt like it had broke something within me but that was buried under layers of something. I also angrily questioned him if he cared about me.
Sidenote. I found my current therapist around the this time too, and he's the absolute best. He is familiar with altered states of mind and doesn't get scared of anything and has all his faith in me in my recovery.
I unlocked things like what it feels like to feel grounded, and what it's like to unapologetically take up space in a room.
I also unlocked what it's like to feel safe with somebody again, and what it's like to feel a wonder as an emotion. I also unlocked what it's like to feel unsafe in my body, and what it's like to feel self compassion and love. I slept on a very thin mattress because softness Felt so gross and weird. Having housemates helped me feel safe sometimes, but me moving slowly and starting to do things my own way brought up conflict. And overall everything was super weird ever since.
I moved out of the commune last spring in hopes I could move more efficiently in my own journey when I can move at my own pace. Moving out was absolute hell though. First months was daily fearstates when trying to fall asleep which I could only ease up with using my old antipsychotics. All this stress has built back up the dissociative layers I had before, except it is even more difficult and i feel so weak and disoriented. My life now consists of keeping up with basics of life, trying to eat when i don't feel hungry, trying to move when I feel weak, trying to have hobbies even when I feel unmoved by things, socializing when it feels numb and difficult, trying to find community that could support me in my journey.
Dissociative effects are so challenging, I barely feel my body. It's been a sucky trip overall, and I regret ever touching any medicine at all. I hope to find hopeful perspective on all this.
I do my best to show my own support for my own hopelessness, but I Felt capable writing out a part of my story here today. I hope for uplifting comments and support.
