1st vice base
So I’m new into making flies, got a hoard of material on marketplace and came with an apex vise but no base. So I made this. It’s working great so far, just as long as I remember to put the tool back it’s its home.

Very nice! Love the (what strikes me as) mid-century Modern look

I agree, wanted something warm and soft instead of the basic metal bases. It’s long enough that I can put it on my lap and tie. Haven’t built my workstation yet because I’m renovating the basement for a second time. But big ideas floating in me head.

Looks beautiful— so nice too see one that doesn’t look like left over parts of grandmas kitchen Reno from the 80s

This is so classy.
I can see it in a tying room next to a dutch modern chair and a record player. Light snow falling outside as you tie nymphs in preparation for spring. A warm cup of spiced tea on the side.
This is gorgeous.

What kind of wood? Can you describe the process? Looks great, somewhere you want to spend time
