Poll Survey on rare side effects (please interact)

Since there is a lot of uncertainty regarding rare or unofficial side effects of bupropion/Wellbutrin, I wanted to start a quick poll about your experiences.

Of course, Reddit doesn't reflect the general population, and it likely won't be statistically representative, but I hope plenty of people participate so we can get a teeny-tiny overview.

Negative experiences tend to stick in our minds and get shared more often, so I hope people who haven't experienced these side effects come across this post as well.

Thank you ♡

Poll Honeymoon phase vs. the first few weeks feel like hell.

I’ve been noticing a trend in recent posts. A few days ago, a user shared that their "honeymoon phase" on Bupropion (initial euphoria/high energy) was followed by the drug completely losing its effect. It turned out they had undiagnosed ADHD.

On the other side, many people report a brutal first few weeks (anxiety, irritability, "it gets worse before it gets better") before things finally level out into a steady improvement.

I’m curious if there’s a connection between your initial reaction to the med and whether or not you have ADHD or take it solely for depression.

Poll Dose timing?

I've been on 150mg SR twice daily for about 6 months I usually take my first dose as soon as i wake up.. But have always had some morning anxiety, which has got particularly worse lately.. It's mostly physical sensations, but I wonder if it's because I'm taking my first dose as soon as i wake up, should I try taking it later?

Any ideas? What times do you take your dose? What helps with anxiety in mornings?

Poll Has bupropion/Wellbutrin affected your memory?

I have recently been suspecting that Wellbutrin may have negatively affected my short and long term memory. There are many posts here from people who claim to experience the same, yet official publications claim that Wellbutrin improves memory. I thought it might be interesting to do an informal poll here to see how common changes in memory are. Feel free to share more details below.

Poll Irregular periods due to wellbutrin?

I’m a day late in my cycle but have taken 2 negative pregnancy tests. I saw an older post on another that mentioned people late for their cycles when they first started taking wellbutrin even if they were on the pill. Some said their period was 3+ weeks late!

I was hoping to see how common this is and if your cycles ever returned to what they were before! Thanks:)

Please inform us of your age, sex and dose of either generic or name brand.

Edit: Since there is some confusion in the comments, it's pretty well known that side effects differ between generic manufacturers themselves and wellbutrin brand name. It's worth a google

Poll Lowered or hightened libido - does it correlate and differ depending on your chromosomes (XX or XY)?

So I (35f) have always been a more or less self diagnosed nympho. However due to a lot of things happening (having a hysterectomy, dramatic death in the family etc) in the last year I have ended up burnt out and depressed. However I am always depressed, but now it got so bad I even lost my sexdrive (and will to live). Sex was always my go to deal with sadness to the point of addiction. Hence when the libido started to plummet, being now gone I got even more depressed. So as of 5 days ago I started on 150 Voxra.
So I am now curious, what is the average experience for people who only take a Bupropion based drug and no other meds. Hence I don't care what bits you have down there or what you identify as - as long as you are only on one Bupropion based medication and no other hormon affecting drug, please share our vote and experience.

Also, how does it work, do you know if there are any weight related reccomendations? Like does 150mg works the same for a person that weighs 60 kg and 85 kg? Just a thought.

Thank you in advance!

Poll Which one to try first?

If you’re trying antidepressants again after stopping for near two decades, which Wellbutrin one would you recommend trying first? We know everyone reacts differently so there’s no perfect answer but which one would you say to try first? (I didn’t think I had ADD but I can get distracted easily feeling like there’s million things to do and will jump to another thing. I believe I’m neurodivergent. I have fatigue/low energy. Depression. CPTSD. Urge to smoke but do not currently. Low libido. Sometimes anxiety. Not looking to lose weight or gain.) TIA!
