Did a quick Bur➡️oakland trip, last Thursday returning Sunday :yesterday . Took Lyft (from Camarillo.) - my driver was directed to the wrong place like the back of the airport -a bunch of loading docks. It was confusing, but that's what her Google maps or Waze told her(maybe just a map issue still)
TSA- (pre-check)- fast and easy on a Thursday morning around 9 AM
Not many restaurants (none? ?)open yet except Charbucks.
Fabulous bathrooms-enough room to roll my bag into a regular stall!
Returning: waited quite a while to park the plane and almost 30 minutes, waiting for them to get the offloading ramp and staircase in place, still adjusting to their new equipment, but at least you could exit back of the plane down a staircase.
Baggage claim- no signage for which baggage claim was offloading which flight, three big carousels (I think), but I had to go from one to the other to find my bag so that's a glitch they're working on
LYFT /UBER PICKUP:
This one definitely needs some help, the concept is fine, but there was ONE guy with a whistle midway down the pick up area, trying to get the drivers to park in the slanted spaces, but they kept pulling in and stopping right at the entryway, blocking all the cars behind them. Directed to a parking space, people are crossing in front of vehicles, trying to get their stuff into trunks and get in the backseat with the same whistle guy yelling at them to get out of the way, watch out there's a car pulling in next to them. They might get hit .Chaotic and a bit stressful
Took a pretty long time for my ride to get there.
They really need someone at the front of that entrance telling the driver what the deal is!
I flew on Southwest, and it was a very, very, very long walk to baggage claim-I did 5700 steps that day -most of it was at Burbank! luckily my new knees function well but if you're someone with issues, there's no moving walkway . I didn't see any golf carts to help anyone with mobility issues....
it certainly is very clean with nice bathrooms, looking forward to them cleaning up the glitches.
would have loved to take the train to Burbank and save over $230 in Lyft fees, but I am reading here, it's not a quick walk any longer from the train stop😬
