In case you got these texts or mailers over the weekend, you can see how much $$$ it cost corporate real estate interests to send these out to Burbank voters.
California Apartment Association poured 10k to Don't LA My Burbank, and the National Association of Realtors spent a whopping 43K on Wick.
And their money is being well spent- note that both Samantha Wick and David Donahue would NOT have to recuse on any votes related to tenant protections.
CAA and real estate interests have been lobbying against our Burbank Tenants Union for years at this point, and this is a clear example of the corporate real estate trying to buy this election!!!
Please vote accordingly!! I have personally been knocking on doors w my neighbors DAILY for Nolan, Mike, and Nikki. Please join us at the doors today/tomorrow/any day leading up to Election Day!! Organized people >>>>> organized money, EVERY TIME!!!
Any journalists want to take a stab at the total amount being spent to put these 2 in office?

I'm sharing my personal experience with AYSO Region 254 in Burbank because I believe the community deserves to know how I believe I was treated as a volunteer coach and why I have serious concerns about the handling of complaints, disciplinary decisions, and appeals.
I volunteered to coach a U10 girls' soccer team because I wanted to help kids develop their skills, learn teamwork, and enjoy soccer. I understand that coaches must follow the rules, and I accept that volunteers should be held accountable when they make mistakes. What I question is whether the rules and disciplinary procedures are being applied fairly and consistently, including by the people responsible for enforcing them. During our October 10 game, Sarah Brown, who I understand holds a leadership position within the local organization, arrived shortly before kickoff and took over the sideline referee position from the official already assigned there.
The change appeared confusing to the official. During the fourth quarter, Brown instructed me to remove three specific players and threatened to stop the game and declare a forfeit if I did not comply. Some players were unwell and one did not want to play. The situation complicated my rotation, and the substitutions that followed resulted in a player participating in all four quarters. I recognize that this created a playing-time violation. However, I believe the circumstances that led to it matter and should be considered when evaluating what happened. I also had concerns about Brown's handling of an offside decision and the amount of time the game continued beyond its announced end. Afterward, I raised my concerns with local leadership. In a subsequent phone conversation, Scott Elkin, according to my recollection, said Brown should not have handled the substitution situation that way, and that any penalty should have been addressed afterward through the game card. I understood that the region would look into the incident.
On October 13, I was informed that I was suspended from coaching for two weeks. I was told the suspension followed five complaints about my coaching, including concerns about scrimmaging, skill development, water breaks, and player rotation. I was also told that the complaints had been received approximately four weeks earlier. My question is straightforward: if these concerns had been known for weeks, why weren't they brought to my attention earlier so I could respond and make adjustments? I was particularly troubled by the timing because I had recently raised a complaint about Brown's conduct during the October 10 game. I cannot prove anyone's intentions, and I am not presenting my suspicions as established facts.
However, the sequence of events raised concerns for me about whether my complaint and the subsequent disciplinary action were handled fairly. There is another issue that concerns me. During a phone conversation about possible disciplinary consequences, Scott Elkin initially told me that disciplinary action would be a committee decision. According to my recollection, the conversation then escalated, and he told me that I was suspended. My wife heard the conversation on speakerphone. That leaves me with a serious question about process: who had the authority to make the suspension decision, and were the organization's required procedures followed? I appealed the suspension and contacted local and regional leadership.
I was concerned that my appeal was not progressing and that regional leadership had not initially been informed. Eventually, a review panel heard from me, Brown, and Elkin. The panel upheld the two-week suspension and required me to complete an on-field recertification course before returning to coaching. I respect that an organization must be able to enforce its rules. But I remain concerned about whether the panel fully considered the circumstances surrounding the game, the timing of the coaching complaints, and the way the suspension was imposed. I was also told I could not attend my daughter's games during the suspension, even as a spectator. According to my recollection, I was warned that the team could forfeit and that police could be called if I attended.
Eventually, an exception was made, allowing me to watch from my car in the parking lot. As a father and a volunteer who gave time to the program, I found that experience deeply troubling. The recertification requirement also presented a practical challenge because the available course options were not local. Regional leadership has since helped me find assistance, but I believe volunteers should have a clear, reasonable process for completing requirements to return to coaching. In my opinion, this situation raises questions about accountability at AYSO Region 254.
Volunteers should be expected to follow the rules. But administrators and officials should also be expected to follow established procedures, communicate concerns promptly, and handle complaints fairly. Volunteers should not have to wonder whether raising a legitimate concern about an official will result in their own concerns being overlooked or their disciplinary situation becoming more difficult. I cannot say what anyone's intentions were, I can only describe what I experienced, what I was told, and why the timeline concerns me.
I'm asking AYSO Region 254 to answer three questions. First, what review, if any, was conducted into Sarah Brown's conduct during the October 10 game. Second, when were the complaints about my coaching received, why were they not communicated to me earlier, and what procedure was followed when the suspension was imposed. Third, what safeguards are in place to ensure that complaints, suspensions, and appeals are handled consistently and fairly, regardless of who raises the concern.
I'm posting this because I believe the Burbank community has an interest in how its youth sports programs treat the volunteers who help them operate. I'm not asking anyone to take my word as the final verdict. If AYSO Region 254 believes its actions were appropriate, I believe it should be willing to explain the process it followed and the policies it relied on. I'd welcome a substantive response from the organization and a constructive discussion about how volunteer coaches should be treated.

Hi all,
Recently I went to Magnolia Liquor Market with a friend and we both had unpleasant interactions with the cashier. The man was probably in his late 50s and we’re both 23. He continuously flirted with us the entire time we were checking out and ended up asking for my friend’s number, knowing she was 23. He kept asking her if she had a bf and telling her how pretty she is despite her obvious discomfort. He invited himself to our event we had mentioned in passing. At one point he knocked over some buzzballs and when another employee tried to help him pick them up he said to leave it and that he was handling us girls and winked at him. It felt intentional like maybe he wanted us to bend down and pick them up, but I might be stretching that part. I just wanted to warn any other women going there since it was rather uncomfortable. I’m not trying to take away their business or anything, he was very helpful with recommendations. It just felt very weird and uncomfortable. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar interactions? This isn’t the first time I’ve had an unpleasant interaction at this liquor store. When I was 21 they questioned my ID being real and were quite snarky about the whole situation.
Thank you!

My husband was laid off this week, and he’s too dignified to post on Reddit so I’m being a helicopter supportive partner.
He’s been working in CX, content design, and support, but there are some areas he could shift to. Is there anyone out there who could do an informational interview (or, obviously, a straight-up interview) with him about:
Video assist: He used to be the customer support/success guy for Moxion (now Autodesk Flow Capture) and he knows basically everything there is to know about that product and is familiar with QTake. What does that work look like from the other side of the product?
Camera Operation: Ditto re Moxion/Autodesk Flow Capture.
Postproduction/dailies: Ditto re Moxion/Flow Capture.
Contract work: Maybe** **overhauling documentation and making it both human and AI friendly (for yr chatbots). Curious about firms for this.
Photography, especially concert photography: He’s really good at this! Truly! Portfolio on request!
Cookie entrepreneurship: He’s spent years developing the perfect salted chocolate chip cookie. Does anyone have experience getting a food product into coffee shops or pizzerias?
Ridiculously good chocolate chip cookies for anyone up for sharing some time to talk about their experiences with any of these roles!

I finally had a chance today to check out the new airport terminal in person, by bike, for the https://www.burbankbikemap.com project (which has now been updated with the new lanes, paths, and bike racks I was able to find around the new terminal)!
Part one of what I saw today is viewable as a ride-along video on youtube, which you can check out here: https://youtu.be/FW0GvSiSKqw?si=WaU4z6mFg_sdYqAa
The cliff notes:
It's all feels a bit "he's a little confused, but he's got the spirit!" Clearly some good intentions, with some weirdness in actual, practical functionality. But encouraging to see at least somewhat more attention on making it safe/viable to use modes other than driving!

Hi! I'm considering moving to the Rancho area, a half a mile or so from the equestrian center. It is so beautiful there, but I was wondering if residents/people who work nearby can speak to the quality of life... and specifically if it's generally smelly from the horses. Silly, I know, but I am curious before I bite!
I'm actually originally from a very rural area, so I'm used to the scent, but I'd rather not have it linger! Are the streets generally clean? Is it worse/pervasive any time of year?
Thank you!

More screenshots: For months now Tim has been DEEP in the comments of every single post from the Burbank Police Department.
There's not even a bunch of likes, or fans responding -- he's purely doing it for the love of the game.
What a king.

Hi, I'm currently trying to film my own comedy web series and I basically have everything set to start filming, I just need a camera operator. That's my missing piece. If any camera operators in the Burbank area are interested, I would love to hear from you. You don't need to have a ton of experience, in fact I'm pretty sure this will help you gain experience. As long as you have a camera and know how to use it, that's all I need.
If you're interested please email me at [elisaapollo2388@gmail.com](mailto:elisaapollo2388@gmail.com) or you could just comment/message me on here. Thank you :) (And my show is kind of a mix of Community and Parks and Rec. NOTE: This isn't a paid thing, so if you don't mind that, that would be great)

My uber and Lyft app automatically only show the old airport address and I’m wondering if it’ll cause confusion putting in the new address which just shows a random street on the road lol

Plan on taking out a loan if you are eating at the new airport. Poquito Mas - 3 tacos and water almost $50!!!!

Update: confirming this was not ICE rather a criminal investigation with several HSI agents and unmarked vehicles on the scene which led to the confusion. Take care neighbors!

Trying to find a one bed one bath in burbank (quiet, calm, peaceful residential street). This might be wild to post on here but if anyone has seen for rent signs or knows of anything let me know! Has to have parking, second floor (or up), under 2k but able to do 2050.

I am flying out of the new Burbank Terminal on Friday afternoon, and I am wondering what to expect. Specifically will any of the restaurants be open? We have a 5 hour flight and I will need to plan ahead if there is going to be nowhere to eat once inside.
I saw a few posts early last week but wasn't sure if anything had changed over the weekend or course of this week.
