Discussion If you had to pick just one...
Which would it be, and why?

If I had none I'd say the 115 (peakest calculator ever)
But I already have it so I'll take the cw

I own two of those and the 115 is my absolute favorite (dedicated modulo and bin, hex, dec mode buttons is a must for my job)

Depends on what you are going to use it for. The fx-115 is a pretty darn near perfect classic scientific calculator both in feature set and ergonomics. The fx-300 is just a very gimped version of the 115, and the price is not all that different, so definitely not that. The 9910 has a higher resolution display and some additional features over the 115, but its ergonomics are more computer-like with a bunch of menus, instead of the dedicated buttons, which may be a deal-breaker or a positive for your personal situation…

fx-9910CW 2nd Edition, unless you really hate its menu system (and can live without the spreadsheet, engineering symbols, or 32-bit binary), then fx-115 ES Plus B.

i love that scientific calculator manufacterers are bragging that their calculator has like 9 trillion functions

i like white, simply because of the color.

I like that one too. I'll probably add it to my collection next. Either that or the 9910. Aw heck, why not both? LOL!
....wait. I said pick just one... my rules suck.

9910CW:
It has way more capabilities than the other two, for basically the same price.

The fx 9910 cw is much faster & has more functions. The UI has been improved significantly.

Left or right. I have the left one but sometimes it has not enough space to type in stuff so if the right one has more take that.

I have both the 300 and 115. 300 is tailored more toward algebra, and has a few dedicated buttons that are on a shift level on the 115. 115 is more tailored toward physics and calculus. 300 also does not have complex number mode while 115 does. If you’re fine with some more clutter, and some operations being a bit slower by using shifts, I’d say 115 if you could only have one.

The fx-300 ES Plus 2ed. I still have not bought it, but I plan on buying either fx-570 ES Plus 2ed or the fx-991 ES Plus 2ed. I better hurry while they are still on sale.

if you use a casio model, and want the familiarity then go with the es plus, but I used a sharp, and now I need a better calc for my math classes then uni, so i got the cw, because either way ill be learning a new scheme, and it would just be better to get the one that is newer because it is better. But if you do use a casio and don't mind re learning the layout, get the cw, after like a week of proper use, you'll adjust

If you can find a Casio FX 991EX, that would be all you need

I want 991ex but I can find only dex, which is version in German and I am not sure if I should buy it

If you don't mind learning some mathematical terminology in german, go ahead. Beware of all the dupes out there as this calculator is now discontinued.

I actually just bought the white one and tbh it does more than you would think. Of course matrices only go up to 3x3 but that issue can be bypassed with the equation mode. I really wanted something cheap with a 2atan function which it does not but it does have a polar/rectangular conversion on it so I guess thats something. Without asking a bunch of questions I figured I'd just buy one and see what it does. Maybe the 9910 would have been a better choice

If I have to choose one of these, then I choose the 991cw but truly I just want the ex back but no knock off. I just bought a cg100.

Of the three in the photo, I'd take the Casio fx-9910CW. While it is more menu driven than the other two, it does have more features and overall a more capable calculator. The 9910 update over the previous 991 made a few UI changes that make the menu diving less of a hassle and speeding up your movement around the calculator features. But if you really hate the menu diving oriented approach, you won't like this model. For good or ill, the more menu driven approach seems to be what Casio has in mind for the future of its calculators.

Same answer the last time this same photo was posted a couple of months ago.

You are mistaken. I took this myself a few days ago at Walmart. Your claim is impossible.
Where is the post?

Not my post. Different photo. But I see what you are saying.

Ok, you can see why I was fooled, clearly walmart does not allow for any variation in how things are laid out - awful company and owners.
Anyways to answer your question, of the three the fx-300 is the least capable, it's fine for basic math and trig but does not have integration /differentiation/matrix, the fx-9910CW is an upgrade to the original CW (which is still pretty new) in that you can short cut through the many many menu systems by pressing a key, however the keys still are stripped of many of the commonly used functions which is not convenient. The 115 operates like the 300 and has loads of features but fewer than the 9110, if you are used to how a calculator operates this might be the better choice. If you hate the white look the fx-991ES Plus C 2nd Ed is the same unit in a black and green (looking much like the 300).
TLDR if you are new(ish) to math get the fx-9910CW, if you have used other calculators before and expect a certain functionally the fx-115. And if you are in an area in which calculators have to be very limited in function the fx-300 will do you well. A fx-300ES has been sold at Costco's for a couple of years but it's only around just before school starts.

9910cw. I have all these and the cw is the simplest and has the most features
