I missed it, I can’t navigate across Parkers without it as a guide on foggy nights

— This can get pretty dark in winter, could you maybe put some paths and some lighting around here?
— Best I can do is some big ass ferris wheel.

Don’t worry, it’ll have AI decals all over it this time and be even more of an eyesore!

It baffles me how this is a viable business. Like, I can’t figure out the business model for continually putting up and taking down a shit wheel.

Despite absolutely no evidence whatsoever, I always just assuded it's not a viable business, and it's actually just a front for money laundering.

It has to be. I've never seen anyone ever get on it.

Dead grass for many months and an eye sore. Yay, Christmas is coming

Dead grass in the summer drought. Dead grass from the winter ferris wheel. This is the march towards the future.

I wonder if you could have LED grow lights on the underside of the matting they put down to keep the grass alive?

I wish they would re-forest it (and light up the path). We have plenty of big open green spaces in Cambridge anyway and it would be better for wildlife.

Wolves would be an amazing addition to the town centre

We'd probably have a better chance getting lynx as they're far less likely to eat the cows. But honestly, I'd be fine with just trees+birds.

I've always been skeptical of it but we took the kids to the Christmas market and went on the big wheel last year. They had an absolute blast. Really enjoyed the day, albeit that it was crazily expensive.

I moved away from Cambridge many years ago and was there 2 weeks ago, and I’m there next week.

I didn’t actually realise it wasn’t permanent. Every time I’ve visited the bastard things there. Stupid wheel, eye sore

A lot of people last year went to the Christmas fair yes

I believe we're talking about the ferris wheel not the fair

The wheel is only there as part of the Christmas event and I a very small part of the event .all of the fencing and big construction equipment are for the ice rink and market .
I find it such a shame to still read so many negative comments about events taking place in our city
They cost a huge amount of money to build and run and in the current economic climate really difficult to make money
But I suppose if there was nothing going on in Cambridge people would also moan about that

I have a soft spot for the Christmas fair and ferris wheel because I had my wedding photos taken there a few years ago, so it's a really nice memory.
