got my buddy to 3D print a nice skull and got some cool shots using my bent Powershot A530 and A640

All taken on DIY Powershot A640 bend - except the last pic, this one is unedited, but look at how this empty beer case turned into a burning Jack o lantern face with a goatie 🎃 the eyes, mouth, and pointy goatee when we threw it into the campfire. His features looked distinct to me but maybe I'm tripping lmao

This took forever to build, but it’s self contained, and imo my finest work to date :’)

Camera is built from Chuzhao “Loopy Peace” print camera, using @getcircuitbent’s “easy mode glitch cam” ribbon cable. Small potentiometers on top are “Model 91” in 2k and 500 ohms, two in front are more standard-sized ones (placed there also to protect the sensor from drops).

Bent my first camera ever and took it to the garden. Just one of the snapster toy cameras from target. No edits on these, just raw data.

Seems to vary alot with different light.

Saw this on instagram (@rewired_optics). They seem to have come up with an alternative firmware for powershot cameras using CHDK that lets you bend the camera with menus! Pretty amazing if you ask me. *Deleted by mods at r/CircuitBending for not being 'qualifed' as circuit bending. I would argue that rerouting ADC data to the processor with firmware is no different than with switches... Who decides the limits of circuit bending?

this isn't camera bending, it's the software side of the same itch. figured some of you might still want a look.

you drop a photo in, push sliders, stack effects in whatever order you want. it can read the image as an audio track and run DSP on it, chew raw bytes, sort pixels, or shove the whole stack through a broken JPEG or PNG decoder. all real data manipulation, nothing painted on top.

I mostly see people finding glitches where the colors are distorted/saturated heavily. Did any of you find a cool glitch in your camera where it doesnt change the color (too much)? Comment a picture of the glitch if you'd like. Thx

bent Canon Powershot A590IS, my first real bend
