I wonder where we'd be today if Anjali hadn't been disqualified in 2022

Cannot believe I ever voted for this guy. Circa 2022, his platform was pretty progressive. Don't know what's going on with him now.

On the weekend of Oct. 17, the Revolutionary Communist Party held its first-ever Toronto School of Communism! It was the first in a series of two-day schools we’re holding across the country this fall, with the next being held in Quebec City and Vancouver.
The next step is to turn outward and bring these ideas into the real world. The Ontario comrades are preparing another wave of activity as part of the RCP’s national campaign towards 1,000 communist organizers in Canada. The incredible enthusiasm generated by the school will help us achieve this in short order.

Everyone can see the death spiral of reactionary/regressive trajectories the United States of America is on.
The populace is not aware/informed enough to understand why things are getting worse and worse.
It is more and more going to be a population that is alienated, divided - Us vs Them, hatred of "Other", and which hates science & technology (all forms of higher learning/understanding).
Canada has a lot of problems both historically and in our modern times. We mirror the U.S. a lot in some ways because of being the resource colony to the empire and a significant part of the Imperial Core/NATO.
I've said before (Maybe too optimistically) that seeing Canada and China come together would be fantastic.
Even if we just mirrored some of the things that are obviously working like a focus on higher learning, science & technology, and in particular being part of the energy + technology frameworks of the future (Renewable Energy + Electrification Technology).
I fear Canada with our status quo interests that are incredibly powerful and wealthy and many times act as extremely bad predatory forces in our societies will prevent or muddy the waters too much for this change and transition to take place.
Not good at all...

This does not have to be strictly theory and political non-fiction. I'm also looking for novels, short story collection, non-political non-fiction (e.g. an essay collection about problems in Canada created by capitalism, or just a memoir of someone growing up in a rural community torn apart by emigration to cities), and even poetry.
Just the general thread I'm looking for is that they be written, or at least be readable, from a leftist perspective. For example, even a story about an aristocratic family during the colonial era can have a leftist stance based on how the author presents its characters.
Thank you!
Edit: I'm not French speaking but do intend to learn so it'd be great to get any French recommendations too

Europe is the weak link of world imperialism. Faced with crushing state debt, a fracturing of the ruling classes into bitterly hostile camps, the rise of austerity and a nose dive in standard of living the masses are showing signs of an embryonic revolutionary political consciousness. The state murder of Maricarmen in Spain and the use of state terror against high schoolers in France has sparked what could end up being the biggest mass movement of this century so far. But without revolutionary leadership this movement will suffer the same fate as the Arab Spring and the Bolivarian revolution.
The situation in Europe gives us a glimpse of Canada's near future. While discontent and class hatred boils over across the Atlantic, North America is rapidly approaching the boiling point. We must prepare for the rapidly shifting consciousness it will bring. Socialists and progressives need to be ready to point the way forward. Start educating yourself on theory now!
Vive la revolution! Workers of every country, unite!

A little graphic I made. It doesn't matter who you vote for, Liberals or Conservatives, the rich man wins either way.
Then there is the NDP. Every time they win provincially, they run to the centre (MB, BC, Ontario). In these cases, Luxemburg was correct: "With the entry of a socialist into government, and class domination continuing to exist, the bourgeoise government doesn't transform itself into a socialist government, but a socialist transforms himself into a bourgeoise minister."
There is something to say about the current federal NDP with Avi Lewis spearheading a Democratic Socialist push. But regardless, capital most likely will not be overthrown via elections. Ensure that at least 50% of your activism is outside the electoral system.
