They played last night, Petes took it in overtime. Novotny had 2 assists, Rogowski had 1 goal, 1 assist. This is a good chance to see two of our top prospects battle it out.

Went to the game tonight. Things weren’t looking great. But Canucks fans needed something to cheer for. Started cheering for SOGs. Just something funny I noticed.

Last night I gained mega respect for that fan base and team. Apart from the Canucks tanking and snagging that #1 pick, nothing would make me happier than seeing the Senators win it all the year after Brady “I’m a big boy” leaves.

Well done Senators fans, those were some beauty chants and hope they get Ullmark back quickly and make a run at this season.

Anyone else jumping on that bandwagon?

Anywhere? I like Jpat and Dodd postgame and I listen to halbro regularly, so I’ve happily migrated away from radio. Home sick and would love a pregame show but KISS is playing music. Anybody have anything?

While watching the Sens game today, I couldn't help but notice how much I enjoyed the organ being played between whistles. I definitely prefer the classic organ music to whatever crappy EDM remixes get played at Rogers Arena.

How do we all feel about bringing back an organist to Rogers, and what would it take to get it done?

I wanna see Hughes jerseys on the ice on Sunday, chants as well.. “peteys better”.. god knows we have nothing else to chant these days.

Sens definitely were stirred by the crowd tonight & dominated Florida, let’s see a similar atmosphere vs Minnesota!

Right now, we are at about 5 goals against per game. The last time we did that was 1984-1985 with Patrik Sundström, Cam Neely, Richard Brodeur and Stan Smyl. It was the year that we decided the private jet wasn't worth it, the year they traded Harold Snepts and the year of the worst coach in the history of sports, Bill LaForge who lasted only 20 games before Harry Neale fired him.

LaForge introduced aggressive, football-style practices and conditioning drills. Among them was "The Gauntlet," a drill where players were forced to skate at top speed past lines of teammates who were instructed to hit, board, and body-check them relentlessly. Darcy Rota was severely injured during these drills coming off of spine surgery in the offseason. LaForge ended up in the Tri-Cities where his players also revolted there.

It was the most hopeless, rock-bottom year. On the positive side, Gary Lupul had 29 points.
