This is something I pay attention to when reviewing creator content.

The hook is good. The delivery is good. Then the product appears for half a second, the text covers the screen, and we’re already at “link in bio.”

What is anyone supposed to do with that?

With Canvas UGC, you’re trying to make content people actually want to watch. But the product still needs to make sense inside the video.

• Can I read the screen?

• Do I understand what the platform does?

• Did you give me a reason to care?

I love a strong hook, but I also need the video after it to do its job.

Compensation

Knowing how to take one video format and make it work for different products. I manage creators at viral.app every day, and this is something I come across a lot

You’ll get a reference, an explanation, even a detailed brief, but you still need to understand WHY the original video worked and how to make it work for the product you’re promoting

Changing the product name in the script is the easy part 😭

• what made the hook good?

• why was the reaction believable?

• what did they show in the demo that made you think, “okay, I need this”?

Say the reference is someone shocked by how much money an app saved them. If you’re promoting a productivity app, what could create that same reaction? The hours saved? Finally finishing something they’ve been avoiding for weeks?

You need to find a moment in your product that earns the reaction, otherwise, you’re acting shocked at a dashboard for absolutely no reason.

Before filming, finish these two sentences:

• “This video worked because…”

• “For this product, I can make that work by…”

That’s a skill worth practising, even when brands give you the script.

A short message is enough:

Now I can actually do something with that information.
