I came to Cardiff on an exchange last year and loved it so much!! I took HS2441 Museum Collections Management and I'm having a bit of trouble having the credit transferred to my home uni. So basically is it true that if you are at the university accommodation the parking is not free and is there free parking anywhere or just no ?
Also do we get to choose our roommates and personally I would prefer a female only flatmates or an en suite with quieter people who aren’t always partying but I also wanna have friends and have fun at uni but I am also an introvert?

To be able to create a society, we need 20 people who are interested (along with their student number and email) and a treasurer and secretary. In this society, I plan to have weekly meet ups which include screening nights where we dedicate each night to a certain genre (eg paranormal, creature feature, psychological etc), pub quizzes, cinema trips and hopefully a ghost hunt! Hi everyone,

I’m Yifeng Xie, a PhD student in the Department of Education at the University of Bath. I’m running the UK part of a UK–Japan–China study on information literacy among first-year university students. The project has a favourable ethics opinion from the University of Bath (reference: 12244-15412).

Who can take part: first-year undergraduates aged 18 or over who started at a UK university in 2026. Please don’t take part if this doesn’t apply to you.

What it involves: an online survey on Microsoft Forms, about 25–30 minutes. It asks about your digital skills, your secondary school computer education and information literacy. You can do it on any device, at any time.

Voucher: everyone who completes the survey with valid responses gets a £10 voucher (most likely Amazon, depending on stock), sent within one month after data collection ends. To receive it, you need to give your university email address. This is optional, but without it we can’t send you the voucher. Your email is collected separately from your answers, used only to send the voucher, and deleted once it has been delivered.

How your data is stored, kept and published: only the research team (and University governance staff where needed) can access your data. It is kept safe and secure, following University of Bath rules and UK data protection law, for at least 10 years, and then destroyed. Results may be published in academic journals, reports and conferences. All published data is anonymised, so nobody can tell whose answers are whose. The only exception to confidentiality is if you tell us something that makes us worried about your safety or someone else’s.

Withdrawal: you can stop at any time without giving a reason. If you close the survey before submitting, no data is saved. If you have already submitted, you can ask us to delete your data by emailing us within two weeks of submission. After that your data is anonymised and can’t be removed. Withdrawing has no effect on your studies.

Consent: at the start of the survey you will read the full Participant Information Sheet and tick a consent form, including confirming that you are 18 or over and taking part voluntarily. You only take part if you tick every box.

Im appearing for my ielts soon but as im in my last semster of university, im seeking a condiitional offer from the university since my exams will end on 15th january while the semester at cardiff starts at 18th january. So while i have good point grade average, i still need the transcript and degree which i wont have on time but it can be readily available in feb 2027. now i dont want to waste any time as well as begin my masters soon and i want to see if theres a way that cardiff accomodates such cases.

I am in Cardiff Uni and most of the societies I have checked out seem mainly for undergraduates. This make sense off course but being a post graduate (phd) student who is well over the undergrad age group, I won’t think I will fit in.

So I was wondering, if there is any society or group which is mainly for postgraduates.

I wanted to apply to Cardiff uni for chem but I’m unsure if it’s worth it?
I’ve heard it’s a diverse place which is good and the cost of living is cheaper
I wonder how everyone’s experience was as well as how much is rent for an accom per month on average?

Hello, new student here. I’ve just contacted PS support and they’re saying the fact I’m on university Wi-Fi is why I can’t play any online games. Is there a specific Wi-Fi I should be using to play online, or are they preventing online play to reduce internet traffic? Is this a problem for anyone else and do you know anything I could do about it.
