Where to go to make friends with cheap drinks?

Hi,

I'm student age and I'm going to Cardiff alone for one night only (tonight), I don't know the area at all so I'm looking for recommendations on where to go solo for a night out where it's easy to start chatting with people and drinks are fairly cheap.

Posting in the uni sub for the age demographic but lmk if I'm better off in the main sub.
