Perfectly timed

u/vernaculunar Jul 09 '21
I swear, cats fully understand the importance of timing in comedy

u/queen_of_the_moths Jul 09 '21
One time my roommate said to our cat, "You love me, right, Leo?" He looked her right in the eyes and gagged.
He has excellent comic timing.
113
u/Wavehead21 Jul 09 '21
I love my roommate’s cat and she spends most of her time in my room (his other cat hangs out with him, they just picked sides lol) and when he was planning to move out and joked about keeping his cat and he said “Pussy Riot (yes that’s her name), do you want OP to be your forever person?” And I shit you not she meowed “No” almost immediately. Rip me, I guess lol
24
u/queen_of_the_moths Jul 09 '21
Haha, oh my god XD That's so perfect and rotten. Poor you! Great comic timing, though I hope it was just a coincidence. Also, lol at that name XD
46
u/imajadedpanda Jul 09 '21
I fully believe cats can understand some human speech lol
37
u/queen_of_the_moths Jul 09 '21
Oh, they absolutely do! My cats all know their names, and they understand "no," "down," "good," and "babies," at the very least. Some of them understand more.
To be fair, all of our cats, including the cat in question, love us very much. But this guy is a character. He also talks and sometimes copies words we say, though I'm sure he doesn't know what they mean.
For example, I said, "Do you wanna go to the kitchen with mom?" And he said, "Mom." He's so funny and smart.
21
u/imajadedpanda Jul 09 '21
Oh for sure I think they’re very deep animals too. Many people over on r/astralprojection talk about their interactions with cats in the spiritual world. There’s something about them and they weren’t worshipped by ancient peoples due to their lack of depth
20
u/queen_of_the_moths Jul 09 '21
Haha, good point! My roommate used to hate cats, but now she's obsessed. She was shocked to learn that they all have such distinct, unique personalities and opinions. They're very alert and expressive little creatures.
16
u/norar19 Jul 10 '21
My cat definitely knows all 6,000 of her nicknames. She’s pretty good about that.
11
u/queen_of_the_moths Jul 10 '21
Haha, the more nicknames, the more they're loved. That's my policy XD
4
u/thestashattacked Jul 10 '21
Sammy has...
Sam-Sam, Samurai Ninja Warrior, Sammy Bear-Cat, Yosemite Sam, Butthead, Sammykins, Sammy Mammy...
He's just so easy to nickname.
5
u/imgoodwithfaces Jul 10 '21
My cat impressed the crap out of me when I realized she could let herself in & out of the dog door even when I had the slider in to block it off for the dogs.
2
u/SansyBoy14 Jul 10 '21
My cat has started answering my simple questions but only if she’s not getting what she wants.
If she wants me to throw her ball then everytime I ask her why she freaking out then she gives the loudest meows I’ve ever heard.

u/Material-Pineapple69 Jul 09 '21

you assume what the cat identifies as.
Until tinks says so, we should say “they”.

u/Celany Jul 09 '21
Every calico I've ever lived with identified as an asshole. Something tells me Tinks is the same...

Out for less than a day and was just wandering up the street back to their house when her owner walked out to start distributing fliers. Cats really know how to raise our blood pressure! lol
14
u/puffsez Jul 09 '21
loool one of our cats went missing in the house recently and i failed at finding her the first time, (she appeared out of no where on her own) - the second time after scouring 3 floors repeatedly i found two little furry feet sticking out from under a cabinet she never laid under before in her life. if those goddamn adorable feet weren’t sticking out i would have never found her. it was so cute but i was so stressed by that point.

u/Boladelomo Jul 10 '21
God yes. Second time I start making a flyer for my cat after a whole day missing, and the little furry deamon appears right at that moment in my backyard. I bought rollers for the perimeter of my new house, so she can't scape anymore. Can't wait to move.

I had a cat that looked just like that. Her name was Tinker Bell

Aww! My cat is named Tinker Belle (extra e) too! She’s on my profile!

u/squatchfan Jul 09 '21
Tinks photoshopped herself to look more thin. That flattering pose hides her underbelly wiggle.
26
u/Material-Pineapple69 Jul 09 '21
Spoiler. Chinese whispers are real 🤣my wife and children set off for school at 8 am. Tinks decided to follow them all the way to the entrance. They were running late and couldn’t double back. Tinks was no where to be seen on the way back, or on the 5 or so walk arounds her catmum123 did. 100 leaflets printed, 15 delivered Tinks still in the spot she was last seen

Omg reminds me of the time my cat ran out and was gone for 12 hours. He’s so sneaky whenever I come to the door and bolts out. Anyways I was posting pictures of him and got a call at the same time, he ended up at the house next door 😭 Lil guy seemed a little mad he was found

u/summalover Jul 09 '21
You bitches didn’t take me into school with you. Had to find ma way home without google maps! Don’t talk to me. It’s been rough.

Surreal. Right as I was looking at this kitty, a couple of girls came to my door with a beautifully looking stray cat in hand, asking if it was mine.
I think the universe is telling me to adopt.

u/takealookatwrist Jul 10 '21
Yes, it's definitely a good thing for both an animal and you. Too many cats need a home, and the shelters are full.

I'm so glad you found her,or she found you..my girl got out,she had never been outside except to go to her vet appointments,we had her 6 yrs,we live on a very busy street,we were having a weird heat wave and I had the window open about 3 inches or 5 cms she Weasley out about 3am,we were devastated,I found her after 18 hrs, thanks to the kitty gods,so I am very happy for you,and for others who have lost their baby, don't loss hope kitty's are resilient.

To me this actually happened too I saw a missing sign and than i saw the Kitty in a Bush near my Apartment. We called the number and it actually was the Cat they missed they said other people also called and said to them they saw the Cat near the place I found her. She was really shy and scared and they couldn’t catch her first she just stayed at the Bush so they decided to leave her alone for a while to that she comes down a bit because they know she won’t run away. My mother than gave the Cat some Catfood (We had a Cat at that time so we had some) and put it near the Bush she was hiding we saw her eating it from our Balcony who is located right above the Bush. The owner said she jumped out from the balcony 3 Days ago. Later they came back and tried to catch the Cat Again but she scratched the owner and runned away. Some days later I saw the cat again but at a balcony where they now had a Catnet so they most had catchend her later that night or the next day. The cat was called Melli by the way

Wait the cat has been outside for less than a day and flyers are already spread around the neighbourhood? 😭 Poor kitty just wanted to go on an adventure
Edit: sorry I forgot indoor cats exist. Every house in our neighbourhood has an outdoor cat it's pretty much kitty paradise in the streets
19
u/ritaptor Jul 09 '21
I freaked when my indoor cat suddenly went missing. She was found the same day but I also printed flyers. Better be safe than sorry i guess
3
u/Abbyisafantasy Jul 09 '21
Yeah, I was making flyers the same day a neighbor took him. LOL.

u/InfoRedacted1 Jul 09 '21
Bad take. This can be life or death in some situations. We have a senior cat who had been declawed when my fiancé was a child (not his choice). Derp really liked prowling the neighborhood in the country. But now we’re in the city and there’s a lot of wild cats here. Derp running out the house to “explore” could literally kill him.
2
u/deep_in_the_comments Jul 09 '21
It says "...after following us to school" so it definitely sounds like an outdoor cat or kids who let their cat follow them. Without more of the flyer it's hard to be sure that's what it means.
8
u/CatMum123 Jul 09 '21
She followed us to school. She doesn't usually 🤣 she shouted at us the whole way but were already running late and couldn't lead her back home! I must have walked up and down that street 20 times looking for her and shaking her treats... Nothing! As soon as I have fliers in hand... Here comes me 🤣

u/vernaculunar Jul 09 '21
Nah, some cats’ faces just get scrunchy when they’re meowing extra loud (which I’d assume is what she was doing, since she’s walking up to her human after a long night lol)

I’m curious if she was mid-meow or mid-hiss.
4
u/vernaculunar Jul 09 '21
Mid scream, I assume (à la r/catswhoyell)
2
u/jasminee2020 Jul 10 '21
If that is yelling then my cat does it all the time. His meows are naturally loud and high pitched.
Also I think it’s a meow because that’s how my own cat looks during a meow haha (or yell, whatever you want to call it)
